It took me almost 4 hours just to get to the first gym battle 😂. There’s a lot of areas to explore and it’s a breath of fresh air!
Who else can relate?
I know but then I was over leveled and my Pokémon stopped listening to me
Same! I had around 30 pkmn caught before I went to school at all. 😅 I love the open world.
Im like this rn, just started playing and i dont wanna miss a single area of the enormous map to make sure i have as much pokemon i can lmao
Took me 4 months to get 1st gym badge
Nice and well-put together vid! One thing though for anybody watching: For town PokeCenters, you only need to step foot in their respective town in order to use them as fast travel points. And another thing: If you're heading to places where you're underleveled, I recommend getting a Ghost type beforehand and putting it in the front of the party. All Ghost types have the ability to flee a wild pokemon battle regardless of their speed, so you don't have to worry about your Pokemon fainting! Hope these two tips help.
I have attempted to flee with Gastly when a level 25 bird attacked my level 16 self. I was wrecked.
I did, in fact, get too distracted at the start. But I did end up accidentally finding a shiny lechonk thanks to my odd obsession with the auto fight
Actually with regard to levels and obedience, if you catch a Pokémon at a low level and raise it, that Pokémon will remain obedient regardless of the amount of badges you have. Thus, you can level them up as and when desired, though I think the cap for the Pokémon that you can catch is Level 20. Anything lower than that and you should be good. :)
Wait so the gyms don’t matter anymore? In terms of Pokémon level?
@@vinnyl264 They do matter for higher level Pokémon. It's just that for lower levels if you caught them and levelled them up, they still obey you. If you caught a higher level Pokémon and didn't have the badge, then it won't obey you. Badges count only for Catching Higher Level Pokémon and for Trading.
This actually applies in older games, as for my 2nd Pokémon Sword play through I set myself the challenge of getting a team of fully evolved Pokémon before I actually registered for the Gym Challenge. I have a Level 45 Kommo-o, and it still obeys me even though I don't have any gyms badges yet.
@@tf330129 so if I have the first gym and catch a level 5, it will listen to me even at lvl 100 even if I still only have that first badge
@@vinnyl264 Yes as long as you caught it at level 5 it should still obey you as it count's as you rasing it or something like that.
I don’t think the info about the Tera stab multiplayer is accurate? In that example it would just be a 1.5x multiplier if it has a water attack (hence the introduction of terablast). It’s only 2x if it terastalizes into its original stab type. So thundurus with Tera type electric using Thunderbolt would be the 2x multiplier
Yeah that's correct. That info was explained by GF before.
Thank you for being on top of the info of this game since day 1, definitely found this helpful for when I start my play through tomorrow !
Yesssss I've been waiting for some guidance!! Bout to snatch my Swablu. Thanks for coming through Phil!!
Thank you Philly, you and Austin are my go-to for Pokemon videos, so excited for this game and can't wait to get to Paldea at 11pm CST!!!
Meh austin is lower tier, bans people from his discord for asking too many questions about raid dens. :)
These tips were incredibly helpful. Thank you for your making this video! The details involving Terastalizing will definitely come in handy.
Being able to get my Larvitar early is making me so damn happy right now, honestly the best damn news I have gotten all damn week.
i’m so hyped - this game looks amazing. thank you for the tips!
Took a pause of my work to make sure I watch this now. Great video
A lot of good tips easily overlooked! Thanks for the content!
Great Video! Thanks for all the tips
This was extremely helpful and well put together. The start of the game was terribly slow and I was losing it. Thank you.
Thanks dude! This helped a lot man
I'm very casual now with pokemon. So thank you for making this video. I really like where Pokémon is going forward. So I wanted to support and bought Violet. I hope we get patches. But all in all great fun so far. I just hope they keep pushing for that next big Pokémon adventure. I like so far the growth of Pokémon with this game.
This is so helpful thank you!
Thank you for getting me through my cardio this morning. My time on the treadmill has gone by a lot faster with your last two videos. Can’t wait to play tonight!
@@sovereignblastoise6767 I have gone back and forth with weight my entire life. I tend to not be able to lose weight unless I diet and do cardio. When I first got out of high school I was around 300lbs and had never been in a gym. Luckily I had some help after I graduated.
My main suggestion is this. It possibly, wake up and at least go for a 30 minute fast walk (treadmill or outside). Do this again at night (if possible). Due to my schedule I’ll either run now or do a 1 hr fast walk.
In terms of lifting I usually do the following: biceps, triceps, back, chest, shoulders, and legs spread throughout the week. I usually do core exercises every day, calves with legs, and traps with back or shoulders. I generally do four to five exercises per muscle group (not core/calves/traps). With 12-15 reps per set. Try to keep your time between sets low (at least under one minute, or 30 seconds if possible). Light weight is fine for this at first. You will still build muscle and lose weight. It’s better to learn what your body can do at first to avoid injury.
The most important thing is diet though. I can try incredibly hard in the gym and not lose weight if my diet is trash. Everyone is different, but what worked for me is a very low carb diet with lean meat. Eat high fiber green vegetables with these meals as well. Lots of eggs in the morning. You will feel hungry at times, but can nearly eat every 2-3 hours due to how lean your meals are. I keep myself satisfied throughout the day with no issue.
Also important. Drink water! Water helps a lot with weight loss and you’ll feel great staying hydrated. I generally try to never feel thirsty. There’s some water bottles out there that have marks on them with hours to give a general approximation how much water you should have in a day.
Overall, just stay consistent with what you’re doing and it’ll work. At my best I was nearly losing 5-7lbs weekly and felt great. This eventually slowed down when I lost around 80lbs.
Hopefully some of these tips can help you/others. Didn’t expect to give tips on a Pokémon video but in always happy to share what worked for me.
@@sovereignblastoise6767 Before I even started exercising I lost around 10 lbs just by stopping soda. Best of luck to you when it comes to your health and weight loss goals. Just focus on yourself. There will be some hard times but you can focus and get through it.
You’ll have days when you won’t want to do anything, but even if you just go for a walk or keep eating well it’ll pay off. Just keep being consistent with healthy habits and it’ll pay off.
@@sovereignblastoise6767 good luck my man stay dedicated you got this ☺️☺️
@@sovereignblastoise6767 good luck friend ☺️ it’s hard at first but try and find the joy in excercise. My best advice is find something to listen to whether it’s music or a video like this, it takes your mind off what you’re doing and you get to multitask by listening to something you enjoy as well.
Hope u guys all enjoy the new Pokémon 🎉
@@sovereignblastoise6767 doesn’t really matter what diet or exercises you do, it all comes down to burning more calories than you take in! So yes I would recommend cardio because it’s the quickest way to get your heart rate up and burn calories, but weight training is also good because muscle building will help you lose fat as well.
Just picked up Violet, these videos are always super helpful. Thanks
Thats a real nice video thanks for all the info especially the strong pokemons and how to catch them at the start!
im old school, so its taking some time for me to adjust to this open world style. Basically theres too much stuff thats not clearly explained. Traveling is slow until you get your Legend unlocked. Theres not a lot of direction, just walk around the whole world snatching up innocent pokemon. I miss the secret places, unlocking new areas instead of just having instant access, I liked going to the pokemon center computer to see my boxes and items etc. its very different but still I want em all...
I hear you and first I felt a lot of the same way I’ve been playing these games since they were black n white and pickachu never went into the ball lol bt it’s definitely grown on me and is so much fun beacuse of all u can do
Great tips thanks!
Very nice video! Thanks for the tips 🎉
Did we ever figure out what you need to get to the spot at 3:34? You talk about it like it's early game, but I have no idea how to make it there. Does the school door open up behind it after you go through the intro class part? Cheers
Im trying to get there too but couldn't find a way, how did you get there?
He made it seem like it was available early game but you have to go far outside of that area to get to that hill literally leaving that area and going a round about way. He conveniently starts that part of the video close enough to the hill to conceal the fact that you can’t easily get there at the beginning of the game
Excellent video! It helps a lot 💖😁
My only gripe so far is how bad the frames are. I thought they said the 1.01 update was going to fix that, but it clearly hasn't :\
Super informative video! I played Violet on release for a bit then put it down for months until yesterday and i was so confused about what everything means! So this video helped alot!
Amazing vid man
This is great - thanks for the tips, as I was started to get confused how to approach the three paths. You've got my sub! And to the folks who are telling you to chill, I just want to add that you don't have to click on something if you don't like it, and uh.. just chill :-)
im so excited!!! gona be streaming live on my twitter tonight come midnight!!!!!
Damn, I should’ve seen this Pro Tip video instead of watching others “beginner tips” videos. Lol. But glad I’m found this video. Just subscribed!!!
Amazing video
Very well done
The upgrades to your mount from the titans are based on how many you've completed, not which ones you've completed.
I’ve actually did the titan battles first after getting my 3rd badge as I wanted to get all the unlocks on my rider pokemon to expore places I couldn’t get to!
Aye, I absolutely love the last upgrade. I ended up doing the titans last as my fiance wanted to do them at the same time. Getting to the psychic gym without the jump was hard!
my first shiny was actually SAVED due to autosave feature..... I accidentally hit it but before damage was even being calculated i realized i had fought something that got in my way right before and quickly prayed and was granted the miracle of a perfectly preserved shiny
God bless you for teaching me how to stop the map from spinning... it's hard enough trying to navigate the bizarre terrain without the map spinning as much as how lost i am...
Honestly right now I’m trying to figure out the best spot to shiny hunt Lechonk, trying to find the exact spawn/render distance is annoying cause it’s inconsistent right now
I also got distracted at the start I wanted to get all the abilities for maridon and I was around level 50 before fighting my first gym leader, the bug gym leader
I like how enthusiastic he was about this. Not a lot of UA-camrs are enthusiastic due to the demand of videos.
Thank you!
I have to wait until midnight.. Couldn’t resist getting Violet digitally.. The wait is too hard!!
You can manually save at any time you can open the menu now. It's the bottom option, you don't have to turn off autosaves first.
i came here for 25 early game tips didnt expect a whole breakdown of the game
thank you man
3:24 That pro player, champion WolfeyVGC actually suggests NOT staying on the path as there IS so much to be found/ collected and most of it can/ will help in progression… TMs, rare candies Exp candies.. other things. Plus the map is so huge, it’s not like all the earlier Pokémon games where you just abandon something you see early on and easily relocate it later… And easily get all items laying around on the map.
*Better to explore* as you go, besides, what’s the rush to get to the end? You aren’t going to lose out on any of the Pkmn you get/ can get by taking your time. There’s NEVER anything wrong with stopping to smell the roses, as it were.
Also, so many Pkmn to catch and some only appear in certain areas at whatever certain times, plus idk about others, but end game running around to find/ catch mons- particularly in this new game/ map/ environment, best to *do yourself a favor* and get a head start!
Imo this, to me isn’t a pro tip, plus, an amazing Pokémon UA-camr and champ, from watching his videos and listening to him seems to disagree..
The other stuff… I suppose but, as I went along I liked and kept my choice of Pkmn being sent to a box or not; like when I caught that lvl45 Great Tusk you can catch in the desert in Scarlet, I had EVERY intention of adding and keeping him in my party- sent anther mon to the box, Dachsbun with it’s back that gives me the creeps to look at 🤢
Does anyone know how items work because I've seen EV berries on the ground but do they respawn, randomly generate oor if there a limited amount
The type of items in question are the ones from 7:35 tip
The Tera types seem great, and so dose this game
10:32
hey! I'm pretty sure megas also worked the same way and they didn't end as long as the pokemon didn't faint or the battle ended
If you get a transfered Miraidon in scarlet, can you ride it instead of Koraidon
How far do you have to be to buy mints? I’ve been resetting for an adamant sprigatito for 3 hours now
Hey Philly does Fast Traveling (to PokeCenters) change the overworks spawns and other things like breakouts?
Saw Austin John closed his game and changed console time to get new spawns on outbreaks so dk if that helps cuz I'm not sure either lmao
Anyone know how early you can get Riolu and where? I love Lucario and want to get him as soon as possible!
the sparkling items on the ground spawn in different areas< like on the beach you are more likely to find pearls, and such. in forests the yellow sparkles will be berries, in the ocean they are feathers
so excited
If you go to the place that you went to choose your first 3 Pokémon get on the right wall when you can ride on on the Pokémon then when you see the cliff jump on it, then you will get a great ball! The reason not to get onto it’s because that you can’t jump high enough. It is a great tip.
Encounter power is definitely no joke. Ate for fire and saw Charcadet all over lol
I have not played pokemon since yellow version on my gameboy color lol this is all new to me and i like it
I saw the video. Do IVs are still in the game? Great job btw.
for anyones first playthrough, I think running around to every poke center around the map is one of the WORST tips of all time that every streamer and creator is promoting..... the game will organically take you to the spots, just take your time and catch the pokemon along the way. Running everywhere in the beginning on first playthrough is a sure fire way to lose track of your pokedex if you do plan to complete it. Also the sheer amount of pokemon everywhere is going to no doubt be overwhelming at first.
And it's a quick way to burn out. Never seeing anything new for the other 75% of the game.
@@boethia7367 exactly! you basically run the whole map, then you gotta run it again to catch pokemon you couldn't catch before AND THEN you run it AGAIN to grind to beat the content. Its not efficient at all
The king is back!
Can u EV train with auto battles ? Nobody has answered that
Best tips ever thanks bud. No I know to jump off every thing
The dens should be helpful because the last trainer battle I faced had my pokemon out leveled by around 2-3 if not 4 levels I won, but I clearly need to level my pokemon more. I was even out leveled by a nearby seviper, which was around 2 levels higher that I did actually catch and is now a member of my party. I have beat one mainline game before pokemon black more than 4 years ago, so I have some experience but not too much. I got a terra jigglypuff today, I don't know its terra type because I didn't check and I don't know how to tell the things above the pokemons heads. I want to collect pokemon so false swipe will help because I was trying not to battle wild pokemon I already had because I didn't want to faint them while trying to catch them.
The titans don't get harder as you get further away. I beat them with 2 mons by the last one the highest level they where was 35
THANK PHILLY I CAN NOW GRIND BETTER THAN EVER
Stop typing in all caps!
I wish I watched this video before I started the game I went in completely blind not having played Pokémon since Pokémon ruby but at the same time I guess I fully experienced the game without others help until I wanted shinys lol
Get an early magikarp evolve it head straight to the psychic cave with lots of dragon and ground types and keep defeating all of them and get ur team huge experience! If u can get a Bronzong that learns Flash cannon and psychic moves and defeat every toxtricity and u will be able to level up all ur pokemon to lv 40 above!
HOLY I CAUGHT A AXEW AND ITS SUCH HIGH LEVEL WITH BROKEN MOVES AND IT HAS FALSE SWIPE THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU DESERVE THE MOST AMOUNT OF SUBS
So i am very new to Pokémon and I see that my attacks have a usage number im assuming? Like I have bullet seed and it says something like 15/15 next to it. If u use that attack the number on the left drops by 1. How do I refresh this without going to a Pokémon center.
Item called “Ether”…… I’m old school so it may be called something different now
Philly, I joined for giveaway, stayed for content, tysm for making good content and i hope one day i can afford my own switch, till then i will watch u enjoy the game and enjoy myself
Also you made us indians really proud, first good indian poketuber
Sounds American to me
If anybody can answer this I appreciate it so much!
Does having a party of 6 pokemon reduce the amount of shared exp I get when battling in the wild?
For example is it smarter to not have 6 pokemon if I am trying to level, or is it always better to have a full 6 with me?
That's a good question! Hope someone can answer!
If you have six pokémon in your team, all six of them will share a split amount of the overall total.
Can you get hidden ability mons by doing raids? (Sorry if I missed it in the video)
I've been steamrolling with Ceruledge
How do you even get to the point of being able to get to the hill before the mount, I can’t even find the way to reach that area from the starting area lol
Does anyone know if pokemon keep their tera type upon evolving? If I evolve a normal tera type eevee into vaporean, will vaporeon be water or normal type? If I evolve a grass tera eevee into flareon, will the flareon have a grass tera type or fire tera type
VAPOREON IS SPELLED WITH 2 O'S, AND NOT 2 A'S THE FIRST TIME!
How did you make it that hill. Been back and forth and it seems blocked by cliffs all the way around
I watched 15 minutes of tips and my takeway?
Mela is Tsundere
Oh the pro tips are here 😂
In regards to that early area with the dragons how exactly do you get there I have been trying for hours (no mount) to get there and haven't found a way to the hill your talking about
You walk around
@@PhillyBeatzU that's not much of an awnser
@@REDREBELGAMING42 I walked around and couldn’t find my way up there no matter what I trued
@Junior Lopez go to the grass gym town and look at the map you can cross over just east of there and climb the hill to catch the pseudo legendaries
@@REDREBELGAMING42 tried this and made it in 5 minutes! Thank you....caught axew, swablu, bagon and zangoose!!
Can't find a way to that spot for the dragon pokemon can you do a run when you show how to get there because I can't find a way there
Im going from playing xy on the ds to playing scarlet on the switch and i feel like i just watched gameplay of a whole different game in a whole different universe
What about ev training using auto battles?
So... how does the pokemon that show up on the map work? Not mass outbreaks, the ones that show up nearby when you press Y.
Ive tried using this to hunt things down and whilw sometimes I find what im looking for, mostly its just not there. Sometimes ill find what im looking for somewhere that ive checked 70 times, despite it not being there before and it being on my map the whole time.
Is this just telling me what could possibly spawn near me? Is it telling me what is currently on the map around me? How the hell does it work lol
Also last night, I had a Gallade on radar for so long but never found it... but then I actually found a dawn stone and just evolved a Male Kirlia I had. Then the Gallade was gone... was the map telling me that a dawn stone was nearby by using Gallade? Is that a thing? Lol or did it just happen to despawn, or something? Im so confused and the answer is probably so easy lmao
This should be really good once I get Pokemon Scarlet tomorrow!
i literally found a shiny as my second pokémon, a shiny lechonk
I can't figure out how to get to the hill with Swablu and Axew. There's cliffs that are too tall for me to jump up.
You said we don’t need any extra things we can start from the beginning of the game and go right there
I found a Tera Diglett with a rock typing haha 😂
Do you know where the amulet coin or luck incense is in this game?
It’s actually the second because legends of arcues is also own world
Where is the spot at early game, where you can skip the map by encountering a POKEMON???? I need help
Woah! For a beginner pro tip guide this is very spoilery 1:36. 😱
It ok a month to find the first game when I finally realized that I had to do gyms
i cant find the path to get to the hill where the swablu and larvitar are
I thought I was the only idiot missing something. There is literally no way to this point on my map?
UA-cam had me randomly unsub but I knew my guy Philly would have some A1 content to watch
Nice useful tips, thanks. But please give a spoiler alert next time or blur out new pokemon.
1:15 you knew the game bug and glitches but did not mention in your review of the game!!!
This will be my first pokemon game I've ever played... any tips for a brand new player? Should I just go on the path the game leads me to? It's stressful thinking about it, I don't wanna be overwhelmed
You can't go wrong in any way man just catch what you want and beat the stories, that is so interesting bc you look like ur older teens lower 20s in pfp lol never heard of anyone older than 10 not having played Pokemon! Super cool man hope it's a blast also Arceus legends was great too and worthy of playing fs
Hmmm the biggest tip is to enjoy the game and don’t stress it! Pokemon games are tailored to new players in the beginning so you’ll be fine!
Are all forms of lycanroc in the game?
Caught rioulu right at the start now he leads my team 😅
I’ve been playing for a day and I have all 5 star leaders and 7 badges :)
