Got a beef with Gates. Where is the tute to adjust belt tension? They claim there is one in another video but it is either so buried or impossible to locate. It appears all they offer in the knowledge dept is incentive to buy this or that with astronomical pricing, that is if you can find it. Where are the CDN belts? Google only finds CDX belts which cost 2X more than CDN belts. So they control the market inventory and screw the consumer. On searching for consumables, namely a CDN belt, I run across a MINIMUM ADVERTISED PRICE ( MAP ) POLICY from gates. Google that pdf and see how gates is bending everybody over and gouging them with: you will never find a deal on anything gates carbon drive . The FTC and my state's AG will hear all about these practices. Taking all this into consideration, it appears they have no tutorials on tension adjustment so you learn the hard way. In other words, you screw the pooch in an attempt to maintain your gear and it cost $$$ to replace.

Hey there! Apologies for the very late reply, but better late than never we hope! There are a few issues to address in your comment, so please bear with this long reply.
The tool to adjust the tension is shown in the video. That’s our Krikit tool. You can find those here: www.gatescarbondrive.com/products/tools.
The CDN belts are an OE only product at this time. Those should be available to everyone through local bike shops this summer. Because this video is a little old, the most recent resources can be found here: www.gatescarbondrive.com/gallery?tab=training&page=1.
Our MAP policy is in place to ensure that all of our sellers get a fair shot at a sale. We believe that bike shops are essential for the health and growth of cycling by providing their communities with service and knowledge. Bike shops also put money back into their cycling communities by lobbying for better bike transit infrastructure, community outreach, and many other great programs. If the price structure for all suppliers is eroded by online sellers offering deals, brick and mortar shops will cease to exist. We want to make sure that does not happen. Since minimum advertised pricing only relates to “advertised” pricing and does not tell a retailer what they can sell it for in their store, this practice serves as a protection for the manufacturers.
Lastly, since consumer-level education is extremely important to us and we are continuously looking into way to improve our resources, if you have additional ideas on what else might be helpful, we’d love to hear it!
