Thanks for post thing! Just fixed my Balmoral 14s by taking the carburetor to bits and emptying out the ethanol! Celebrating with a beer, I owe you one now!
Well done, another little beauty! A great outcome, a donation to the hospice and one more to the fleet! I think it’s time I left West Sussex! Thanks LMJ
As a qualified time served mechanic, now retired. This bloke is the best on you tube. I have over the years worked on truckloads of small engined machines. 99% of people repairing mowers on here know bugger all, use crap tools & have no idea about what they are doing. In the trade we call them bodgers or individually as mr bodgeit. Now i have to say this, i do not like this chap’s demeanour at all. But on a professional level, just watch his vids. Just give all others a wide berth as you could well end up with a stuffed machine. Ha avoids getting carb spray on o rings etc. others pay no mind to these things at all!?. Must say, do not use a pindrill on jets so metal swarf is removed, fatal for the carb. He says tecumseh is not the best, they are actually rubbish tbh. Regards to all.
Well I love Tecumseh carbs but the ones we see here are across the pond are different. That little tiny angle hole in the main jet is the key. A nice little happy purr as you said . Tecmseh rocks :-) :-)
Here is my channel wish list if you would like to show some support in purchasing some tools or spare parts, it is gratefully appreciated www.amazon.co.uk/hz/wishlist/ls/13BO7QKGAZZV2/ref=nav_wishlist_lists_2?_encoding=UTF8&type=wishlist
The trouble with the old tecumseh and dellorto carbs was that they were factory set too lean and the cheaper end ones never had that mixture screw. So it was lengthy Trials and error. Usually 1.75 turns backed away from closed.
Great video matey 👍👍. Really really helpful on the carb settings and the adjustment. Would love to have seen you put on a Tillotson as I didn't think it was an easy swap. I do have a thing about those stickers though. So many are just smacked straight on the top if the deck and they look horrible. If I had a nice new Kensington and it came back with one of those I'd be fuming. Put it on the back somewhere Mr Jones 🤣. Great video Mick

Great video, I am just about to purchase this exact carburettor as I am having issues with my current one. It’s a Tacumseh AQ148. However, after listening to your comments about constantly fiddling with it, not sure I want to be doing that all the time. What would be the Tillotson carburettor part number if I wanted to add that instead? Or an alternative if the Tillotsons not possible? Thanks for all your videos, they’ve helped me build confidence to do these things myself 👍🏼
