Rebecca Hall, the lead singer, passed away several years ago. She was a friend of my family's, and just the sweetest, funniest lady ever. I really miss her. She would be so proud of her daughter and the grandson she never got to meet.
in 1981 o2 82 me and my best friend would camp out in the woods in the summer and sleep in a tent with a battery powered radio and listen all night until they would play this song. we didnt know what general hospital was, but for some reason we loved this song
Most days after school I was outside playing like any 10 yr old kid But some time in 1979 to 1982 I spent one hour in the afternoon glued to the television with both of my sister's watching GH. It was intense and we were all on the edge of our seats waiting for tomorrow's episode. Then this song came out; And I think after we all heard it the first time we were all pleasantly surprised. At that time their was such GH fever the stories and acting had us all addicted....lol. I remember Lisa Lipps and Sunny Joe White and Dale Dorman I think it was Kiss 108. Nice memories. Thanks for posting this unique song
I was a sophomore in high school when this song came out! I had a girlfriend who watched General Hospital religiously and I listened to this song so that we could talk about this soap opera and when she forced me to watch it with her I kind of knew what was going on!
The music and arrangement and music for this song and the chorus was written in a pickup truck between Kittery Maine and Methuen MA (40 minutes) by Harry King on the way to the studio, because he forgot he had a studio full of singers and players and was supposed to write some kind of song around a set of lyrics on a piece of paper written by Lisa Lips . It was handed to him on Friday and this was Monday. Lisa was a soap reporter for Kiss 108 in Medford MA. It was up to fifty on Billboard in two weeks much to the surprise of everyone involved in this recording. ………Harry King
It made it to number 30 I believe. Several artist gave Gh & L&L credit for making their songs huge hit's. The song "Rise" (Night at the disco) was #87 on the charts and shot to Number 1 literally over night. Chris Cross wrote the the song "Think Of Laura" for a close friend. GH heard the song and got his permission to use it. As soon as it was used on GH it also flew up the charts. Man did GH & L&L have a hold on us.

Does anyone know what happened to my great friend in LA. Rebecca Hall ?? Her husband was Doc Schewebke. We were on Mowest together along with Royce Jones in the group " Odyssey" . Please let me know. I am on Facebook.
for, what it is,, a great track. having, said this.. the lead girl didn't need these 3 bob fosse back up dancers. what, she needed was soap actor look-a-likes mimicking her lyrics.
I was such a fan at 18 when this was out I thought this was soooo cool. Now that I'm 58 and seeing this for the first time is CRAZY!!!

Noooooooo 🙏 🌹
what year was it?
The blonde was and is is my wife. We were all friends. I’m a musician and recorded with her husband, Doc. Where are her grandkids? We’d love to know.
@tim jackson Last I heard Rebecca Hall's daughter and grandson were living up around Portland Oregon.
Still my biggest addiction… General Hospital still going strong 🎉
I'm still watching since 1978. As a matter of fact it's the ONLY show I watch!
I haven't heard this since the 80's. Thanks for posting.
Hit #33 on Billboard Hot 100 in 1981, so the song had some success in its day and GH was as popular in '81 as Game of Thrones was in 2018.
I wondered where it hit on the chart. Thanks.
I would have loved 🤩😍 to been in this audience 😁...
The audience here is too stiff😮...
Rebecca Hall and crew are stimulating and fun!
This performance and song are very intense, very deep.I need time to recover my tenuous grip on reality....
🤣🤣🤣
❤this was remarkable 😅
Isn't it cool?! The first story is my favorite. Forever a Luke and fan.❤ All the highlights from the show at the time. Golden.😊
Show was number 1 for 5 yrs straight.

Solid Gold was the most wonderfully cheesy music show ever.

They were playing this last night on Sirius. LOL
was it on the countdown on the 80's station?
Yup. I heard it, too. That's what brought me here.

When it first came out, I thought this was Blondie's follow up to "Rapture"......

Oh s--t they performed it!! Wowwww
I've heard the song on a Casey Kasem flashback and I wanted to know what they looked like. If only their names would be revealed.

Was this song used in "They Call Me Bruce"?
swriously, do NOT cancel GH!
Did Rick really say that to Monica about Lesley?
The Afternoon Delights was a Boston-based vocal studio quartet, including Rebecca Hall, Janet Powell, Robalee Barnes, and Suzanne Boucher.[1]
2020!
Disco Rap...? Smooth.
Hot damn this song seem so cheesy to me now that i am afraid to admit that i use to really like this song....go figure duh😩
Don J. Yeah, it’s pretty embarrassing. This was the first single I ever bought. Hey, it was what was cool back then and GH was its peak.
better than anything in the last 20 years
I thought it was corny even back then.
You gotta love the queen (male).
