Look up SECOND COMING L.O.V.EVIL or Nirvana's Aqua Seafoam Shame. Both rare and pricey.
@@retromech1869I have the Better Of Dead OST CD and actually 2 copies one is still factory sealed and has the original hype sticker and both discs where under $40 at the time I bought from 2 sellers from Ebay YES!!!!🤗 💽🙏🙋
@@SuperMarioBrosIII NICE!!! I wish i could have found a deal like that
Anyone who pays $1500 , for a T Swift cd ,needs to give their heads a shake ..you could buy a decent cd /amp /speakers ....and some decent music for that amount !😉🙂

@@beckydavis4958 it's a pun. It's free so has no price, thus priceless.
No how about the gum CD
Going to dig that out of storage tomorrow. Multiple copies...
I worked with Kim Cobain, the sister of Kurt Cobain back in the 90s. I asked her to have him sign a CD, and I'd pay her $20 for it. She brought me a CD with "Kurt" written in black marker on a CD. I didn't think it was his, and told her no way he signed that and I didn't take it. Now,, comparing his signatures to examples. I think it was actually his signature. 😬
Good thing you didn't take it, you could have been infected with butt worms.
Kurt gave me his jean jacket at a gig.
I tried it on, realized it was too small and gave it away.😢

I had one from Ben Taylor
It drives me nuts when people say the CD format is "dead". CDs are not dead... CD even stands for "Cheated Death".
CDs (including CDRs & CDRWs) and MDs (especially Hi-MDs) are the best formats ever.
Vinyl LPs and cassettes are great for nostalgia (I grew up with both, so I have a wee soft spot for both, especially tapes, even 8-tracks), but let's face it - they sound like crap with all the surface noise (snaps crackles & pops - is it a record, or a bowl of Rice Krispies?) and tape hiss, not to mention the capacity restrictions and physical vulnerabilities. The most redeeming quality of the vinyl LP, however, is the album art - full size, allowing appreciation of finer detail.
I tell ya, if they could package CDs in cases closer to LP size, with recordable/edit options of MD (divide/combine tracks, move tracks, name/rename tracks/disc, erase/hide tracks) and the capacity options of double-length cassettes (100-120 mins or slightly more per disc), you'd have a winning format across the board.
About 10 years ago at a resale shop I found a copy of Jerry Reed East Bound And Down Smoky and the Bandit soundtrack on CD for seven dollars. It's been out of print since 92. It sold for $400.00. What a find!
I got a vinyl lp soundtrack Smokey and the Bandit autographed by everyone in the movie 🎥 wonder what's it worth?
CDs will make a huge comeback in the future
defo there mate
The people interested in these rare CDS are also rare.
I'll also add that rarity is not the measure of monetary value; that is determined by demand.
A rare CD can be as rare as only one copy; but if no one wants it then it has no monetary value.
I sell quite a few CDs for profit so still a few interested in them.
Not as rare as you think
@jnagarya519 Supply and demand
@@knownote yes I sell CDs at record shows the demand is still very much there
Abbey Road first Japan pressing. That CD was going for 20K in its heyday. It is still considered by many to be the best sounding version of that title. I have it. I paid 20 bucks when it first came out. It was packaged in a blister package with an OBI. It contains all the lyrics in both Japanese and English.
At the most, the Japanese Abbey Road CD was selling between $300 and $500. It never went over a thousand.
CDs are great sellers. Cheap to buy(usually), easy to list and easy to ship. I bought 2000 mostly import classical music CDs from 1984 to mid 90s for 400 bucks and 100+ 90s hiphop/rap CDs for only 30 bucks. Several sold for as little as 3 but some have sold for as much as 100+ dollars while most got for 5 to 25. I use card board as stiffeners taped to both sides and then shipped in padded envelopes with zero issues. Its a great way to make use of excess card board you might have laying around. Buy a cheap paper cutting board and make a bunch of stiffeners when you can.
I also recycle cardboard to use as backing for CDs, magazines and paperback books. I wrap cardboard around the CD case for extra protection. The customers really appreciate the extra protection for their items.
I rip my own music and have for years. It’s nice when you have a high quality sample to rip from and CDs work great for this versus ripping from vinyl. To many restarts for “reasons” with other formats.
Go to practically any thrift stores & they're should be tons of classical music cds. I hate when I go to one of them & there's pretty much nothing but classical music not alot of people are buying
Correct! But don't forget to place a small piece of bubble wrap in middle of disc to protect the plastic "spindle". I hate when that happens! 😀
Great packaging info.
I used to sell cds on Ebay and my best selling cds were old school rap cds. Mostly down south artists from Memphis TN and surrounding areas were the most sought after. Some of those OOP hip hop cds would bring in hundreds of dollars each. Sadly cds like that are hard to find in the wild with all the used physical media stores closing down 😢
Young Bleed a no limit release sold for me for like 50$ ... I was shocked !
I used to produce some rap stuff in my home studio in Atlanta from ‘99 - ‘05. Had Young Jeezy at in for about a week at one point, and a couple other guys that went on to make a name.
Wish I had kept the masters. There was some good stuff in there, but I was a rock producer just trying to make a few bucks and didn’t think much of the rap stuff. Then.
That Dead box set is incredible. One of the best housing units with amazing artwork. The Europe 72’ box set is also very pricey, somewhat surprised it didn’t make this list as well.
Many of the GD boxes are going for ridiculous money. Limited numbers and killer packaging. Rhino knows how to sell the live stuff. Even Dick's Picks or Dave's have potential
Hello Don. Great to see someone such as yourself talking about C.D.s and how rare they are. I sold all of my vinyl to a crab fisherman for over 30,000 in 1987. I already had a few rare CDs back in the early days when Japan started to make them. Also, American CDs are made in Japan but sold in America. Anyway. I had over 4000 CDs. After being on eBay for 21 years now I am down to around 28,000 in stock. I am so glad a guy like you started to go on UA-cam and talk about CDs because I hate the way the record stores closed down and destroyed a wonderful adventure of collecting music. I have Subscribed so now I will be watching you from now on. Great video. All The Best Don.
i miss record stores
I miss record stores actually selling Records ...although there coming back baby!! VINYL FOREVER!
We still have aomeba records in Hollywood and Japan still has a lot of record stores
What type of crabs 🦀 did the crab fisherman go for? 😂
whats your ebay store?
I never thought to keep my cardboard CD long boxes. I remember there was a time I cut them up & made a collage out of them. It looked pretty good too.
I did the same thing with mine☮️
Me too. I think i have a few long boxes stored away i bought when they came out. U2, Crowded House, Tears For Fears, etc. and the cd's. I know i still have my first CD player too, a gift from a gf. Surely not worth much.
Teresa Teng CD collection set.
“The History of Teresa Teng”
Out of print. Last Time I looked.
$1,000.00 on an auction site.
Someone uploaded that collection set on UA-cam years ago. I downloaded the entire collection set and have it stored safely on external hard drives.
Another Teresa Teng.
Her original entire 1985 NHK Tokyo Concert video.
Includes all the subtitle translations in 3 languages including English.
I have that one also. It is one of a kind in the World. You can search the entire Planet and you will not find it. I have that stored on external hard drives for safe keeping.
AC/DC not popular in Australia? Are you sure about that? I think they are huge everywhere.
Definitely popular but when you're pressing units for a population of 16 million in Australia in 1987 vs 242 million in the US at the same time, the relative comparison means that they were no where near as popular here in Australia versus the US.
Original AC/DC vinyl the first 4 ones with original Australian covers are going for up to $300 Australian and the original cds are also quite pricey.
Basically anything that can't be streamed.
I really appreciated how you didn’t go for just the easy “high value” ones like the Safety EP etc and gave broad notes on general genres to look for. Definitely learned something new. Keep up the great work!
Classical music companies are idiots with their music catalog that drives the prices to go to insane levels... Check out the Decca/London Antal Dorati Complete Haydn Symphonies AND his Haydn Complete Choral Works box sets...both were in music stores...treated like they had the life of mayflies and the prices of both sets driven to five times the price Tower Records sold them for in the first place... For some reason classical is my specialty and I know enough to be dangerous... I saw 84 recordings in my own collection go upwards of $200 in just one month if I choose ro trim my collection a bit... Getting me to trim my collection is like getting me interested in a blonde or brunette over a redhead... It's damn near impossible...
So that CD at the thrift store that can go as cheap as a quarter may be a gold nugget. I usually look for a stuff for my own collection, but definitely try to put together lot sets of CDs, having a common genre. Limited edition releases or promos get the big bucks.
Absolutely one of the best actionable videos in a long list great content. Although not in my area of knowledge however, i have put a few of the sealed long boxes in my box when at estate sales. We were very thankful with the results and how quickly they sold. Thanks again.
Bob Wills is still the king, according to Waylon Jennings.
And hardly an 'obscure' artist.
Pretty much every single cd you have shown is extremely rare and you definitely wont find most of them
It's amazing that the most "valuable" CD's totally suck.
how?
@@Judyhopps-1iq To each their own, I suppose.
I liked the fact that you used the term 'Sought after' and not RARE! Because rarity has nothing to do with value. My home made hand drawn CD of my tracks is the rarest CD in my collection but if no one wants to buy it then it has no value.
One time a bought a collection of over 1000 Latin / Spanish music CDs . I was getting $20 up to $300 each for them on eBay
I live in a fairly rural area, but we have a lot of rich gated communities. I believe what I have found thrifting in the last few years has came from them. I have found everything you talked about here except for rap and long boxes. Now none have went for thousands but several I have bought for less than a buck have went from $50 to $150. One area that I didn't see you talk about was countries that no longer exist. I can flip any west german cd for a lot more than a normal copy just because it's not a country anymore.
Some of those West Germany cds are "target cds". It's not because the country doesn't exist.
There is a lot of money in jazz CDs, if you know which ones to take. The audiophile reissues and Mosaic historical reissues are the good ones to look for, but nearly any decent jazz CD will sell.
My aunt has a Eric Clapton signed CD of Blindfaith's late 60s album, with it's very questionable cover, then and absolutely now.
I bought a storage locker 5 yrs ago and there were 500 sealed CD’s from the 90’s Vietnamese music I still have them knew they were valuable I’m glad I still have them
Thanks Don for another great video
i’d be interested in seeing what you have! are you planning on selling them?
I had a original pressing of Metallica Garage Days.Sold it way back to fix my car ☮️
I noticed a CD version of Weird Al's Peter and the Wolf/Carnival Of the Animals running at around $750 (for an autographed copy)... On average about $350...(in the original sleeve a bit higher)... This is my Weird Al holy grail...if I can snag it for a dollar at any venue...
Sniped one for $110 in the original casing at an estate sale... Now to get it autographed...
CDs are the main item I source. I'm in several audio discord and FB groups and have seen a lot more talk about buying CDs. Vinyl is getting so expensive, so as the economy slows down, people are seeing CDs as a great alternative.
Technically CDs are still the it format. This addresses the same problem that Hollywood is having when all the major companies are putting their TV shows and movies on streaming services. A download is nice, but getting the hard copy is worth paying for in the long run. What I appreciate about this video is that you actually did the research.....
I've been buying stuff on eBay since 2004, that's a good 20 years, and eBay really is the king of second hand shopping. The same thing applies to movies as much as it does for CDs, but THE best way to build up your collection is going on the store locator and looking up shops like Second Sale and Declutter, and they rarely send you the wrong disc or movie. They'll list great artists and movies for five, six, seven dollars, and I've done this countless times when I've gotten onto a second hand seller and grabbed four, five, six movies or CDs a pop.
Now what you're talking about is the opposite, where if you're wanting to find that specific album, don't just check the listings, check the shops that deal with older tunes. You're talking about the rare of the rarest CDs, but depending on what you're after, be willing to pay 30 60 or 70 dollars a disc, because once they're gone, they're gone, but I've got my own set of OOP discs....nice to have.
Recently sold Better Off Dead CDs have sold for $50-$80 confirmed sales on eBay. Not bad, but no where near $500. Just because someone lists something for $500 doesn't mean it's worth that much.
We only show sold listings, and keep in mind variations, and original pressing are far more valuable than a standard copy.
Once again Don, you have blown me away. None of these CD's I would have given 50 cents for as they are just not in my wheelhouse. In fact I have passed on many of these at yard sales and thrift bins. But I know better now. Thanks for the education.
I seriously doubt that you've seen "many of these" at yard sales, unless you exclusively shop at yard sales in Europe and Asia. I'd be shocked if you've seen any of these.
How about one of the first CD's to be imported to the U.S.? That would be my 1985 Japanese copy of The Beatles "Abbey Road". I have been offered 100's of dollars for something I bout new for $20. It's totally conventional and mainstream. It's not some limited edition soundtrack.
Powerage is the fifth studio album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC, released on 25 May 1978
It peaked at 22 on the Australian charts in 1978 and 133 on the U.S billboard charts
Not sure why that one is priced so high the median price on discogs is $30 Aud maybe it was signed
Great video keep them coming 👍
ACDC fans are famous for overpaying for anything by the group. None of the ACDC stuff is rare as they were a pop group, so thousands were pressed on both CD and vinyl
Sold one on eBay for $16 a couple of years ago.
The early Albert cd pressings of acdc are worth a bit..compared to the later ones..which some are a little high mastered although not badly.
Yeah overall very informative and interestng buy some common info missed. Did notdovery well in this country..... True they left aus after a couple albums for the uk wherethey got much bigger but they had a bloodly loyal hometown following. Some of these are postngs for bids so remember to see what actually sold flr. There is always some jerk posting asking prices WAY hgher than fesibly possible and it really relly screws with averages and perceptions of ehat they are worth. Also, Eminems SSEP was absolutly oroginly a lttle self relesed independent album
And aren't they Australian too?
I have MANY of these albums in my CD collection, but they're not sealed OR in the longboxes anymore, because I've listened to them already and I still enjoy hearing them every once in a while!
Very cool and informative! But you said all CDs used to come out in longboxes. You mean all American CDs. Not in other countries.
Plus back in the day I use to go to Colombia College party's and the Smashing Pumpkins played at them before they were extremely popular.
i collet japan promo only
cd and vinyl 😃👍
AC/DC might not have done as well in Australia? They were an Australian band.
If you made that remark about Bob Wills & His Texas Playboys being "obscure" down in Texas, I doubt your life would be worth a plugged nickel, pardner...anyone in the Country Music Hall of Fame is hardly what I would call "obscure." He was a bona fide legend and wrote and recorded many songs that are today considered standards, especially his "San Antonio Rose." You may know something about the relative worth of LPs and CDs, but you need a bit of a musical history lesson.
I know who they are but to 95% of the population they are obscure.
@@TheAuctionProfessor Well okay then, it kinda cmes down to a poor choice of words I guess. To your typical UA-camr in the 18-25 age bracket, anything more than a couple of years ago is practically from the Pleistocene era.
@@TheAuctionProfessor
95% of the people who listen to traditional old school country much probably couldn’t name a current Pop Star or a legendary Rap artist from 20-30 years ago, but that wouldn’t make those artists obscure just because a certain percentage of the population doesn’t care about their particular style of music.
Thanks for this video however I gotta say the likely hood of someone finding these is pretty nil. Would be nice to see a top 20-50 semi valuable cds like 20-100 something your more likely to find.
Nice to see someone talking about great money to be made with Classical CD's! I've sold dozens for $30-$150 that I picked up at thrift shops. Usually these are several for a dollar!!! Just have to scan everything!!!! Boring but profitable...that should be my new channel name!!!
I’d watch “Boring but Profitable” 😃
I remember as a kid in the early 70s a classmate's father worked for EMI. I remember this kid bringing in some promo records. One was for a new band called Queen. Wonder if he still has it. Must be worth a fortune.
Ebay is not a antique dealer. Ebay doesn't decide what is rare.
Thanks Don! I have learned so much from you over the past year! I really appreciate these videos!
I deal in CD, Records, Cassette, and other formats all the time. My biggest sellers are Death Metal, Black Metal, and 80's Gangster Rap genres. As well as "Unofficial Releases" (Well know bootlegs), but you can not use the word bootleg cause the item will get flagged, and you could get banned for it. But I will warn you right now. Collectors are a finicky bunch. They will nit pick the hell out of a CD so your listing of it and any flaw best be 100% on point. If the disc has been professional resurfaced. You better put that in the listing. If not the collector will call you out for it and want a refund. On box sets. If you get one that isn't complete. You can make just as good or better money parting it out. Other collectors my have a damaged disc, or missing a piece that was in the set. They will buy just the piece they need to make it complete.
Collector here and I can definitely vouche for everything you said about collectors. I've passed up on things that's missing an insert, a rip in one of the cds booklets and so forth. I however never gave a bad review to any seller either.
I will say being honest with your listing will also bring customers back, if first experience wasn't good. That little review is minimal, most collectors talks to other collectors through social groups and they will pass on the bad experience to others. Hurting the chance to get more potential buyers.
1st generation CDs from 1982 can be worth a lot. The holy grail copy of Dark Side of the Moon from 1983 by Sony is worth a lot. Another is the 1st generation (35DP-04) of Wish You were here also Pink Floyd I've seen go for $7000!!!
You know that ACDC is from Australia right?
Thank you for this valuable information on cd’s. I had no idea some could be so valuable.
One of the main reasons for the long boxes was to deter theft. A regular cd can easily fit in a pocket. Another reason was to try to compete with album art, which can never be beaten, but they try.
My phone was dead one day thrifting and i picked up all the sealed cds for 25 cents a piece. One was a Mariah Carey 2 song Demo from 1991 called Dont wanna Cry. Sold for $500 same week.
CD prices are getting hiked up as we speak...all physical music media..100 years from now MP3 CDs would fetch some fortune to the infants who are yet to be born 20 years from now
I had this experience with the "Light of Day" soundtrack. Joan Jett and Michael J. Fox music. Vinyl is common but it's rare on CD.
That was a really good one...Joan and M.J. Fox...so good
Always learn something from you. Thx for the info!!
Had a friend that worked at Musicland back in the early 90's and she told me her manager was a fan of the longbox packaging on the CD's because it was made to reduce theft.
1200 you have to find the oner person willing to pay it
Thanks AP....I guess next time I see a gigantic pile of Vietnamese CDs I will give them a closer look.
AC/DC is Aussie 😆
Except that almost all of their members were born in Britain!
AC/DC is known for being from Australia though,so that was a bad example you used, though some argue they're Scottish.
Bad example? Their country of origin has nothing to do with how many they sell. Their 💿's sold like wildfire in the US and UK because those markets are 100's of times bigger than Australia's market. So there are less available from Australia so there value is far higher. No idea how that is a bad example when it proves my point?
As always, your videos are amazingly informative! I didn't realize CD's were doing much anymore. I have been focusing on albums and cassettes, but I guess I need to dig a little more. Thank you for sharing!
For a while, anyone could easily make as many copies of a CD as they wanted to but now it seems like stores don’t really sell CD burners and blank CDs anymore
Nice video. Ac DC definitely popular in their home country. :)
I REALLY wanted the Sound Track for better off dead it took me well over a decade of searching online just to find downloads for some of the tracks
Many years ago i sold a early copy of the Kyuss EP, Queens of the stone age split for £95 quid after only paying around 10quid when it first came out

You can pick up classic Rock cds in the uk dirt cheap but I cant see anyone paying top dollar for any cd sorry thats just how itvis
The most expensive CD I ever bought was the 1983 edition of Platinum Blonde: Standing in the Dark for $60 back in 2002. I had wanted to get it for some years, but it always showed up on Ebay for between $60 - $80, so I bit the bullet and spent the money. So of course, in 2010, it was finally reissued and remastered on CD and you can pretty much buy it anywhere now. But I'm still glad I have the original. I also paid about the same price for Steve Kilbey: Remindlessness, also in 2002, which was also reissued, with extra tracks, later the same year! However, the cover art on the original is much better (on the reissue it came out very dark, and you can't see the details), so I'm still glad I got the original of that, as well.
Original albums are most times gonna have superior sound quality so I go for them
Jar of Flies with the flies in the spine is rare. I just scored one sealed for $100, sells for $300
How much is a Green Jello CD worth? It is a single with 3 Little Pigs on it.
$5 on Ebay
Really interesting video! I remember some retail music stores would take the CD out of the long box after you payed for it (Best Buy were one of the first major retailers that stopped selling CD’s in the long box in my area (1996/1997) While the other music stores still sold them in the long box (i wish i thought to keep local band CD’s anytime i’d go to this specific music venue (You’d get 2-3 different guys handing out free demo CD’s usually just in these flat CD single cardboard cases but, pretty interesting (Sure i donate all of the ones i got) 👍
Almond Joy...Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't. 😅
Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys, obscure??? You've gotta be kidding me! They're one of the biggest names in Country Music history, the foremost practitioners of Texas Swing. Ask anyone with knowledge of older era Country, they'll tell you!
Wait--are these actually SELLING for these obnoxious amounts of money, or is that just what sellers are asking? There's a difference.
We ONLY show actual SOLD items. We've done this for almost 30 years and clearly know the difference.
@@TheAuctionProfessor Wow, that's crazy!
Interesting list. If I had known that CD's from popular artists would be so valuable/rare in the future, I would've started collecting them much earlier on in life...
AOR means Adult Oriented Rock Not Album Oriented Rock! ✌🏻
Sorry that is not correct as it has and always will stand for Album Oriented Rock.
I do not share links or BAD info. Been into AOR since the 70's and it 100% stands for Album Oriented Rock and ALWAYS has. I can share 1,000 links showing this as well. In the collector field it's Album Oriented Rock. Even Discogs the leading site for everything music states Album Oriented Rock.

I could go on and on. These are all well respected sites and sources.
In the 1970s the switch on Radio was made to albums instead of only playing 45's. It was original called Album Oriented Radio, but switched to Rock as time when by.
Growing up a local rock radio station called themselves AOR rock radio. One of their features was playing deeper cuts from newer albums as they called them and whole albums at night on weekends. Also they played what they called "back of the rack" cuts, older less heard rock songs. They played singles out but also many other selections. Yes it was Album Oriented Rock
Wow, this is great info. I actually have some of these cds. I definitely wouldn’t call myself a collector, I definitely listen to my music, nothing still in the packaging
I've been buying and selling CD's for many many years, and after a while you definitively figure out what to pick up from flea markets and thrift stores! A great hobby turned into a side hustle! Personally I have a collection of over 3300 CD's, so buying and reselling has financed a lot of that! :) PS! AOR = Adult Oriented Rock :)
death metal cd's are worth the most, serious, there are apparently young guys willing to spend whatever money they have on them, even when I was in my 20's I still would buy rare death metal cd's, they will always sell.
Do You Like Tapes Or CDs?!
I have a ton of demo CDs. I went to a ton of shows when I was young and would always grab any demo CD. My favorite is Deftomes but I have Korn, Rage, Limp, Carbon Leaf, NIN, Tool, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and many more from that era. I had no idea they were worth money like that.
The problem here is you arer are using live auctions on eBay and it is not the most reliable way to do this. You can use sold but it is still not really accurate.I suggest doing more research.
Sorry but you are wrong as we ONLY show SOLD listing.
Just so you know AC/DC is an Australian band. The early Australian versions of their albums have different track listings than the US and European counterparts. So they are sought after by AC/DC fans in the know. Also if you have time please Google Jackie Evancho so you can know who she is and understand why her debut CD is quite valuable. Otherwise your video here is quite informative.
I have 3 of the box sets sealed u speak of and 8 copies of opiate sealed one which is signed on the wrap by maynard and dana but my favorite is my signed cassette of 72826 by the whole band....i have a sealed one that i bought at side one music when it was still open in richmond indiana but sadly closed down like 15+ yrs ago.i also have some 7 inch vinyls that were very limited along with perfect circle sealed disc and vinyls 😊

Nice video. If anyone is looking for a rare cd, I would recommend checking discogs first. haha
I think CDs may follow the path of vinyl, people getting rid of them, then prices going up later. But sad to think to a teenager CDs are a antique technology, many people don't even own a DVD player. Their loss, I'm picking up great films ... At £1 for 10. I did the same 12 years ago with vinyl when people thought it was junk.
I sell a fair number of cds to teenagers. part of it is clearly vinyl prices are too high, but teens (at least the ones that come into record stores) do buy cds.
You're showing what people are asking filter to show what they have sold for they're not sell for those prices
Sorry but you are wrong. Every price shown in all of our videos are SOLD prices only as that is all we ever show.
AOR stands for album oriented radio, the format created in the 60s for FM radio that was still not the popular radio format.
Later it became the generalized term for the type of rock music that had been intended by the artists to be played in its entirety and in sequence.
Singles were frowned upon by artists who didn’t want to be the teeny bopper fanzine fodder the likes of Casey Casum T40 here today forgotten tomorrow.
Can you do top 20 MiniDiscs?
How many fakes are sold on eBay and the likes? Beware. Take care.
I know for a fact, because I sold one for $100s, that the original AC/DC disc pressings tend to be highly valued because they're not remastered versions. That is, initially they just transferred the original vinyl mix master straight to CD. Later reprints were all remastered to take advantage of the CD's greater dynamic range but purists hate that. This means these "original masters" are also not available on any streaming platforms so these CD recordings are indeed very rare.
I have all the original master Led Zeppelin and Genesis CD's and they sound great. Several of them are West German Target CD's. Also have lots of mid-eighties Japanese pressings in the original smooth-sided jewel cases. Most people don't notice these details.
Interesting about the long boxes, something I’d never considered.
I had ten Green day cds i got one pound for each one there worthless bit lik the band
I wish I bought the Star Trek set when it came out but I didn't know about it.
TOOL SALIVAL- A sealed version will sell anywhere between $300 to $3,000.
That Bad Brains Poster are my buddy's Since the early 80s
2 albums that were Number 1 and are hard to find and expensive: 1) Tommy- The Who With London Symphony Orchestra (with various artists). Originally released on Vinyl by Ode Records in 1972 . This was issued on cd for a short time only. 2) Dylan- Bob Dylan. Originally issued on vinyl by Columbia in 1973. Dylan changed record labels and as revenge Columbia released this album of out takes just before Dylan released his new album and began his comeback tour. When Dylan re-signed with Columbis the album was deleted. It was available for a short time on cd in Japan only,
"Dylan" turned up in the Columbia albums box set collection of BD. No longer rare at all.
