- TLOK had such beautiful fight choreography, animation, and soundtrack. I've yet to see any Western cartoon get even close to its level.

Bending in atla was more traditional, and in Tlok it's kinda modern and mixed.

@@coldfrenchfry5181 Not really, because bending in ATLA has a real tradition to it, the Chinese martial arts. But bending in TLOK is kinda mixed between bending styles in ATLA.

@@xmant8842 agree to disagree. My issue with korra was how aggressive she is, i am the exact opposite. Also this is nit pick and forget it after 1st season, but the love triangle was just sloppy writing in season 1 which immediately put me in a biased view.
Apart from this she is gr8.
@@pianissimo7121 i highly agree with your opinion on the romance of team avatar. Like EVERYONE IS DATING EVERYONE! Its all over the place. And at the end of the show too where asami and korra start dating. Like im all for korra being bi but there was no real build up to their relationship. It was just out of the blue and they never really showed romantic feeling for each other beforehand. Idk maybe im completely wrong and they did have slight feelings for each other. Im currently rewatching korra right now.

Also, just like how IRL, fighting styles constantly evolve and adapt, bending styles would've also changed over the 100 years in between ATLA and LoK.

Lok doesn't ruin bending styles, the writers explained people used and rely pro bending to prevent themselves from doing a minimal damage to inner cities, which makes sense. It's more tactical, and speed fighting style for close spaces as well.
@@BiG-JuPO1O1 I know all of this, but most people that dog on Korra don't want to hear explanations or justifications, they want to point at it and say it sucks because it isn't the same as the first series.

It surprises me how Studio Mir hasn't made a show as good looking as this one after all these years. They still do very good animation tho.
It was also animated by Pierrot, the same studio that did Naruto and Bleach
@@hewhoshallacquirepowerando1266 Sure, but their work was a pretty notable downgrade from what Studio Mir had established. I don't think it was specifically Pierrot's fault tho. They were working with a tighter budget and a saturated production schedule plus the expectancy of pretty much everyone to get close to the standard of the previous studio.
@@hewhoshallacquirepowerando1266 Only a part of book 2 was animated by Pierrot and you could see the major downgrade. Mir had to step back in and finish season 2 along with the rest of the show.
Then again, none of the other seasons came close to the animation quality of season 1, but it's because it was initially supposed to be a mini series so obviously a ton of budget went into season 1 thinking that it would be the only one.
Studio Mir did Voltron Legendary Defender and Young Justice, both of which I really enjoyed - worth a watch! Agree that they don't necessarily top LOK, but I think LOK is such a unique and magical world compared to the other two. I love their animation style overall though.
@@proxima-nova About Young Justice, they only did some parts. That show was animated by a bunch of different studios.
The ones they have animated and also had a hand in other aspects of the production are Lookism, Dota: Dragon's Blood, The Bookdocks S4 (which is a terrible season, but the animation is excelent at least), The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf and I don't remember which others. Voltron was also one of them of course.
The soundtrack when Korra and Lin fought the Chi-Blockers on the roof was so epic.
That's why I'll always defend this show💁♂️

the moves in TLOK are more live-action friendly than ATLA, you can just imagine TLOK moves to work in live action
Really? I personally think that besides Aang's super speed running, especially the moves he does with it in fights, ATLA moves would be much easier to translate into live-action. LOK includes a lot of acrobatics that would be incredibly hard to do in real life.
I disagree tbh. ATLA fights are more humanly realistic. TLOK’s fights are way too fast and include too many acrobatics that most humans just can’t do

While ATLA was certaibly amazing i do find the animation much more impressive in legend of Korra and Korra as a more engaging character
They did Tenzin so dirty. He should have had a rematch with peak Zaheer 1v1. Even with flight Tenzin would have no issue taking down Zaheer.
I didn't enjoyed the serie that much (except for some great characters, and because the idea of the story is actually cool).
But the combat I do have to admit is the best part of this and remarcable.

i love avatar and legend of korra equally, but give credits to avatar. the creators studied real martial art forms and created an orignal world full of great charactors. korra got rid of that certain beauty by mixing in modern fighting styles. the whole show was modernized and it got rid of how hard the creators of avatar worked. they had to start from scratch while legend of korra was based off modern times. it was too easy for them and too simple. the show got boring. i'm not giving any hate to the creators or legend of korra, but avatar doesn't get a lot of love for how hard the creators worked on the the show.
I simply don't understand the argument that Korra got rid of traditional style bending, because this isn't true at all. This video is a direct evidence against such claim.
Only several characters in the show utilize MMA-style bending, and that's mainly Mako and Bolin due to their pro-bending background. Almost everyone else exclusively use traditoinal style bending from A:TLA.
Korra likes to mix it up due to her both traditional Avatar training & her pro-bending experience.
@@kkachi95 when i was talking about traditional, i meant the fighting styles the creators studied. korra uses mma, true, but doesn't show the tradional bending style. she uses basic punches, basic kicks and rarely displayed any actually form of chinease martial arts. airbending almost NEVER uses closed fists. waterbending was about redirecting the opponent's energy against them. earthbending used strong steady stances. firebending was okay because firebending used closed fists and sweeping kicks. the rest of the elements lost that touch and beauty they had in avatar. i didn't like the modernized world, because of how hard the creators worked to achieve greatness. the tradional side of bending also showed tradional sides of real martial arts and karate. i loved the was the characters fought, but i feel like the show sort-of ruined the avatar universe.
@@joshuadang2384 Again, you're ignoring evidence laid infront of you. Claiming that Korra does not use traditional Chinese-inspired martial arts is completely false. You can even see her implementing waterbending move to metalbending at 1:20. Besides Korra, Mako, and Bolin, most of the supporting characters and random background characters adhere to the original bending arts from ATLA. Just look at the Task Force members at 0:13.
@@kkachi95 i was talking about KORRA and a lot of characters. the white lotus members just use punches and kicks along with korra. the fact that you're saying "oh she used a waterbender-like move with metal proves it's tradional". it was literally one scene wdym? also, korra wasn't using traditional water bending stances. katara and zuko both showed mix-ups with other tradional bending styles. korra mixed up modern styles of bending. there's a difference between the shows. korra was a modernized and i hold that against her. i don't get why you can't admit to her not using tradtional bending overall. there were a few scenes where she showed some similarites towards characters who USED tradtional bending, but be honest with yourself.
@@kkachi95 there are few people of legend of korra who use martial art inspired moves. stop lying to yourself. you showed me two clips and one of them didn't prove anything. the other was just a basic move that didn't show any actual martial arts related movement.
Western fight animation are just way better than Japanese fight animation
