    Hi Jason.. I'm playing the harp on the Blues circuit in Jakarta... in the past I've use bullet Mike's rigged up to my Fender Bassman 59 reissue... feedback was punishing.. now thanks to your videos I ordered from Lone Wolf via FedEx.. Jason Ricci signature microphone... Lone Wolf Boogiman..Lone Wolf Dire Wolf and the Harp Shield... the combination is superb and the Jakartans are in awe of the sound... Thank so much Jason... I salute you

    I saw your board 3 years ago in Greeley , I tried to pay as much attention to it as I could while you were jamming but that's hard to do while you're jamming! I play on the corner of Mountain and College in Fort Collins and I don't use any amplification other than a concert mate 800 and the cheap little amplifier that's in that keyboard , I've been playing since 2012 and I found out about you shortly after I started, I do really good busking downtown Fort Collins thank you for your encouragement and your teachings

    I have been in music for maybe 25 years. Was a gun for hire bassist for the most part. But also worked in audio post, got a cert from SAE in audio engineering, worked in Hollyweird for a couple of years in sound design and audio post. Did sound design and composed for live theater on Philly. You think with all that I’d be a total gearhead. But I’m not. That doesn’t mean I don’t recognize the need for gear obviously, I just don’t get fetishy about gear like a lot of cats do. Maybe it’s because I was intimidated by it as a kid... I dont know- that being said, I have been playing a lot of guitar lately, easier to write on guitar than harp- and have ended up sitting in with some local cats. I Have a paddleboard and an amp, but I didn’t feel like lugging all my shit. So I loaded up my iPad with Bias Fx Bias amp sims - And ran my guitar through that into an amp and the practice space. I got a tell ya it sounded fucking amazing. And I had a shit ton more control over literally everything. Didn’t need to worry about feedback or any of that shit. Now I haven’t experimented with the harp yet. But if you have an iPad, the apps are cheap as hell. I love the idea of literally just throwing, like a used iPad into my gig bag, and not having to think about shit

      I ve seen good muscicians that preffer simple digital stuff. Pedals are some kind of fetischist stuff indeed, i ve a synthetizer with my pedals, the harmonica becomes something else, like to get it far from the traditional harmonica sound, and go back to the good old chicago sound on a click, so I even use two amps, no clean at all moviola amp, old growl little beast, and heathkit wet or clen also tube amp. For me pedals become an instrument themselves. Find very interesting that tablet development apps that can deliver good virtual Quality. We live good times on that matter.

      Its great to finally know your Settings on the maxxon, Jason. I use the sensitivity very low as well as the Peak. but I Think the rest of the controls all the opposite, Will have to see again to be sure.

    • @jasonricci
      @jasonricci  4 роки тому +3

      I'm playing it 3rd position. The only bend note you need is the 3 draw double bend for the low V. Thank you for digging t5he video long enough to hear that sample !

    I added a BBE Sonic Maximizer to my pedal chain, and, for me, all i could get from it was an increase in the (what i call) Annoying Tone aspect of the amped harp sound.
    I’m sure for some, it’s great. For me, the BBE is best as a paperweight.

    • @jasonricci
      @jasonricci  4 роки тому +2

      GOSH!!!! I'm not really sure! Pedals Average 140.00 a piece theres what like 11 of them thats around 1,540? Plus the wireless you can find a cheaper and maybe better one for about 175.00 I think or less, then the Board itself is like 330.00 plus the mic around 230.00... So right around 3,000. I would recemmoned getting 'em one at a time though and getting used to easch one and how you like it, maybe while looking around for used ones, having fun shopping etc...Otherwise it may be overwhelming!
