What is your take on salt-based water softeners having a negative effect on plant life when using the outside faucet when the system is connected to the entire house?
We have lots of customers who have their outside taps treated with softened water and they are pleased. But in a perfect world if you are just using the faucet for gardening I would bypass that faucet
I'm not a gardener, but people who are tell me you are better off with unsoftened water. At my house, I have the outside taps bypassed (connected before the water softener) except for the one I use to wash my car.
Hi Gary, i have been watching your video’s to help us get the most if our water system, we have a fairly large system as our water is unusable directly out of the well. I am interested to hear what equipment and chemicals you would use. I am I Nevada Here are the lab numbers directly out of my well: pH 3.93; Sulfate 2875: Silica 41; hardness 1275; TDS 3572; iron 25.20; manganese 4.40. (all ppm) I have other numbers as well. Currently we are running a sentery open air system from Better Water with a chlorine pellet drop and and caustic injection systems. It then goes through a Fleck 2510 iron breaker then a 2 tank softener system. We have been unable to remove the TDS with anything but the small amount of water we run-through the RO. My Iron breaker needs to be rebedded and the cost I received from the company that installed my system is insane so I'm looking for options. What would you have done given this water test? We are starting to think we should have just put in a holding tank and had water brought in :/ I don't want to do that though.
Sorry but this water is beyond treatment in my books. Either have another well drilled or look at some other alternative. No matter how uch money you throw at this you will never be happy with this water.
@@juansoteldo92 because there is so much marketing hype around that aspect of water that I want to compare the differences so the viewer can become educated and then decide for themselves what is best for their family. I don’t tell you what is best for you, I give you the info and you take it from there

What do I need to filter my city water so it will make it so my hair doesn’t feel so rough
Your city water is likley hard, so you would need a water softener, we have them here waterestore.com/products/hum-deluxe-water-softener-30-000-grain
Hi Gary, how would a salt water softener affect my lawn and vegetable garden? Wouldn't that raise the sodium levels? How could I avoid that with one?

@@water_estore I have a reverse osmosis drinking water system. Will that be affected by the water softener?
@@dwaynelasater2350 it's always better to have softened water going into your Reverse Osmosis system

Hey Gary, do you believe pH levels matters in water? That there is a difference between a 6.0 and a 8.0 pH level in water bottles?
Not for drinking water.
@@water_estore So why would people buy high alkaline water bottles if the pH balance does not matter for drinking water?
Because of misleading marketing hype to sell families something that they really don't need.
@@water_estore So then why do you compare pH level of water bottles in some of your videos if they do not matter?
