    As physicians, having a history as water specialists - NO ENDORSEMENTS and NO AFFILIATIONS - we recommend only Mountain Valley Spring water. Interesting you never mention it. And for those using or considering R/O water, it is dead water, with low pH, no mineral content, and the systems cause a process that allows for bacteria build up that can make you sick. We’ve treated many a patient sick with a R/O source of drinking water. Good luck everyone, do your homework!

    • @water_estore
      @water_estore  Рік тому +3

      I will check out that very expensive Mountain Spring Water. This is the first time I have ever heard of a Doctor treating a patient sick caused by RO source water. What was their sickness? How do you know it was caused by RO water? Why do you call RO water Dead water? It is lower in pH than most tap water but about the same pH as lake or rain water. Do you not think mankind was originally meant to drink lake or rain water which are both low in pH and mineral content. RO water has mineral content, not no mineral content as you state. RO systems do not "cause a process that allows for bacteria build up that can make you sick", as you state, where did you get this information from? You might want to check out this video ua-cam.com/video/JOuE2U_oCPc/v-deo.html I do agree with you that everyone should do their homework and carefully consider the source of the content they listen to.

      @@water_estore Gary, I bet you’ve also not heard of reversing osteoarthritis which we’ve done for 30 years as physicians. We’ve not heard of a lot of things until we have heard. R/O has never been natural to the human body. Water naturally wants to concentrate. When you reverse the flow, it deadens it. We have treated many patients (not just one patient but hundreds) who were sick from R/0 water. How do we know? We take them off of R/O water and put them on MVS water and their many health issues turn around rapidly. Skin lesions, colds, low immune, fatigue and other issues that plagued them for the years while they were on R/O clear up quickly. Not everyone would associate illness with the water they drink. Understandable. That is why I made the comment. Humans built communities around springs of water from aquifers. We no longer have many of these left as humans having become more and more ignorant about earth’s resources and how to utilize them, have destroyed most aquifers. Dew in the morning, rivers, lakes and streams were not the primary source of human drinking water. It was the source of water for land vegetation and animals as it is now. Humans have a very different process of cellular activity that requires water that has moved through rock and sprung from it with vitality. Most spring water is not drawn from sources that are healthy any longer and the treatment of the water is often lacking in sustaining water vitality. MVS uses only ozone and filtration. They monitor for bacteria (always a concern with any water) and they are in a pristine area. You have incorrect information about cost. If I go to a local health food store, I can get MVS (not mountain spring water as you called it, it’s Mountain Valley Spring water) for less than Icelandic or Fiji or Voss, just as examples. And delivery is even less expensive even though no plastic is used, glass only. We all know that water can make us sick if it’s not clean but cleaning it with point of entry systems and purification systems in general does not cause the mineral content to be good or the pH to be what our bodies need or the water to be able to flush out our cells and make our cellular pumps work optimally. The source of water is the primary key. Of importance, I’m saying that any source of water cannot simply be purified to be healthy. We focus on the source of the water itself and the use of methods that do not destroy it. An example: The common complaint about R/O water of those trying to choose healthy water is that 90% or more of the minerals are removed. Our concern is not the removal of minerals from water but that the source of the water is unhealthy to begin with. Mineral content, pH, purity and so on can be manipulated. The way the water effects our cells cannot be manipulated. The best sourced water will have the right pH, about 7.4, and good mineral content that assists the water as it moves through our cells electrically, clearing debris, and this causes all of the factors to coalesce to a level of vital energy required for the human body. Our brains and guts particularly require it over what plants and other land mammals require. We see a seething malaise over humanity, its not just the food and air negatively impacting us, it’s also water. When I was young I was interested in many varied areas of health. When I was 14 I read the seminal work Silent Spring, which along with a great number of health interests, led to deeper and broader understandings about human health. Much more to learn and implement, water being one of them.

      MVS water is extremely expensive to most families. Period.

    • @ToddDouglasFox
      @ToddDouglasFox 11 місяців тому +5

      @@Surrealist_369 I do agree water should be healthy, from the source, and free. But we have destroyed our present day access almost entirely. Even municipal water has costs to the consumer as does well water. And cheaper bottled water than MVS is an option but how healthy is it? R/O and distilled is UNHEALTHY for drinking water. So it comes down to your priorities. I don’t know you but I know our patients and others. What do you value? Do you “need” new appliances, furniture, a motorcycle, electric bike, a new car, new toys of some sort, electronics, a vacation? How much do you spend on beer? Beer is much more expensive than water as is wine and whiskey. How important is your health? There is not one single area of immediate health that is more important than healthy water. If you think some filtration system on your tap water is sufficient, it is not. If you think your well water is good enough, it isn’t. Do you drink water put into plastic? Is your water from the source, barely touched other than ozonation and filtration? It really depends Surreal on your priories. If someone is on food stamps, get off the computer and internet and spend that money on your hydration. As someone nearly 70, having helped human beings in the capacity of multiple professional titles, I can tell you that those who succeed in health are the ones who set their priorities, empower themselves and their families, and become healthier - by leaps and bounds. Period.

A filter that removes pharmaceuticals, metals, fluoride and bacteria is markedly better than tap water (I'm not referring to cheap pitcher filters or RO systems). One of the more popular brands around here is Crystal Geyser Natural Alpine Spring Water by CG Roxane. I was a little surprised and disappointed that it wasnt on your list. I would be intrigued to see what CG is composed of, either way there seems to be a somewhat sketchy history of CG not backing up their treatment process and so on.

    I'm surprised you did not review "Mountain Valley" spring water. I've heard it's the best spring water available and is only sold in glass bottles. That's currently all I drink but its very expensive (about $33 for a 5 gallon glass bottle) I go through about 15 of them a month, so it gets pretty expensive.
    I've considered a home RO filter, however, my wife feels there is no way to get the good minerals back into the water, like you would find in Mountain Valley spring water or some other good underground spring and without those minerals the RO water will effectively leach out the existing minerals in your body like distilled water supposedly does. Curious what your thoughts are on this.
    Also, you mentioned several times that high sodium in the water is bad, however, you also mention adding electrolytes to your water is ok (which is high in sodium). I've even heard some people take straight Celtic Sea Salt or Himalayan Sea Salt for their electrolytes. But again you are saying water that contains sodium is bad, can you clarify this?

      I've never heard of Mountain Valley water, who has said that it's the best? I would necourage you and your wife to watch this UA-cam video about Myths and Misconceptions especially regarding the mineral content. ua-cam.com/users/liveWJ6bRqiFIFM First of all Reverse Osmosis does not remove all of the minerals, only 90%. You can always add a remineralization filter to add back some calcium, if that is what you prefer. There is no leaching of minerals from your body, again, that is a myth. High sodium is bad and I prefer to get my electrolytes from the foods I eat, which is where 95% of all minerals we need come from anyway. IF you want to add electrolytes you can , but I don't do it for my family and don't recommend it for yours.

You say it's the "most popular water right now", what makes you say that? Who are these people and where are they getting their information from that they beleive it is the best because "they actually care about their body"? I have found it on Amazon but at $171 for 12 x 1 liter bottles it is definitely one of the most expensive out there www.amazon.ca/Mountain-Valley-Liter-Spring-bottle/dp/B09TBJFQX8/ref=sr_1_5?crid=35ZGZLA4JXNHP&keywords=mountain+valley+spring+water&qid=1695654479&sprefix=mountain+valley%2Caps%2C147&sr=8-5 I did check their water specifications and ingredient label on their website but those tell me that the water is very close to most cities tap water, minus the disinfection chemicals of course. I don't see why this spring water is any different from a few of the ones presented in the video, like Fiji water for example. The point of my video was to caution the viewer to not fall victim to the marketing hype and believing that just becasue one brand says it is the best, that may not be the best choice for your family. I still feel you are far better off with your own home Reverse Osmsois drinking water system like this one waterestore.com/products/hum-water-saver-75-gpd-reverse-osmosis-system-brushed-nickel-faucet because they give you unlimited super pure water, they remove forever chemicals like PFAS, and microplastics as well as PPCP's and a whole lot of other impurities in the water that none of the spring waters remove. Do you really think that man kind was put on this planet to drink water that has a pH of 9 when all streams and rivers have a pH of 6-7? So no, I wouldn't buy into the Kangen hype and defionitely would not drink the water from their systems. this is what I recommend waterestore.com/products/hum-water-saver-75-gpd-reverse-osmosis-system-brushed-nickel-faucet

So each night I distill a couple liters for the water that I'm going to use the next day, whether it be coffee, tea, and I feel so healthy. Plus I only use it to cook my food. @@water_estore - Great informative video. I think your bias is against minerals. I'm not saying you're wrong, and I'm not even criticizing your view. Just saying that is the question. I don't want water with fluoride added, though I realize some type of fluoride is naturally occurring. But I think it's a load of crap that cities add it in. But it seems RO is the only way to remove it, and it removes helpful minerals as well. Now it may be that is fine, but there are those who think it leaches the minerals out of our bodies. I'm not some sort of health nut. But I do have borderline thyroid issues and I don't want added fluoride so I've been drinking RO water for years. On the other hand, my teeth that were always in great condition with few cavities have been showing a weird erosion that even puzzles my dentist in recent years. So much so I need some crowns. I can't help but wonder if it isn't the minerals in my body, or lack thereof. Seems to me my choices are spring water or remineralized RO water. Problem is, I'm not so sure the remineralization isn't just junk stuff being put in the water. Not sure I trust it. But I think I need the minerals. Considering spring water.

    Thanks for this fantastic and thorough video. I do have one really important question though about the RO systems and being The Water Guy you are (and clearly having a scientific mind) I'm hoping you can help solve this mystery. (And everyone should try the test I will soon mention at home to see if you too are having the problem I am.) I realized quite accidentally that the activated carbon filter in my fridge allows carbon dust to get into my water and ice. Had I not noticed we'd be drinking carbon dust water on a regular basis - definitely not healthy or okay. You would never know by looking at the water or ice; it's crystal clear, tastes great, and smells great (even without the filter). And yes I have purged the system with gallons and gallons of water after changing the filters and dumped dozens of ice trays as well, but the dust is still there. It obviously just keeps coming out of the filter because it attracts to the water. When I remove the filter there is zero dust so I know it's all coming from the carbon filter. I have tried replacement filter as well. For several reason (PFAS, sodium) I plan to get a RO system but I know that the post filters they use are activated-carbon filters as well and I worry I will have this same issue with those. I know the RO will do a great job with all else, but will it too be putting carbon dust back into my water as that step will follow the RO filtration piece? I have chronic kidney disease so this is a huge issue I cannot just let slide. I am hoping you will do the test I did and see if you and your family too are drinking carbon dust daily and just haven't known it. Here is how I accidentally discovered this non-stop supply of carbon dust. Just dump a whole freezer's ice-maker of ice into a non-black, non-stainless-steel bathroom sink before you go to sleep. It won't show up on stainless steel or dark sink but should on any typical porcelain bathroom sink. Leave the ice overnight to drain slowly on its own. Check it in the morning. I have been horrified the dozens of times I've dumped it and found the carbon dust in the shapes of the ice. I'd greatly appreciate your trying this and letting me know how your system faired or if you can provide any additional info re this matter. I'm hoping the RO systems have better post-filter carbon filtering and the carbon won't get into the water but I just can't feel safe to get an RO system until I know this problem will not arise. For now I'm sticking with bottled and again greatly appreciate your findings and your sharing them with us. Hoping I will hear back from you. It will make a huge difference in my life if I can find a solution to this big problem. Thank you

      @@water_estore Thanks so much, Gary, for getting back to me and being up for this experiment! And yes, I DID try the ice with bottled water, Dasani's, and was thrilled that there was zero residue left in the sink. That said though, I only used one full bottle's worth (which is far less than my ice bucket's capacity), I poured it into a aluminum 8x8 cooking tin, froze it, and then carefully put it in the sink overnight; it looked great and clear in the morning. I'm hoping those results were enough to feel good about no carbon dust in the Dasani but who knows if it would always come out that clean or if it would depend on timing i.e. if they just changed the RO carbon filter, will x amount of bottles contain carbon dust? I am really hoping it's just my fridge's water filter that leaks so much dust but really would love to know if other people's carbon filters- all types - do or not. Again, my big concern is that I will get an expensive RO system and its final carbon cartridge will ALSO allow carbon dust through. That would be bad especially with my kidney issues. Carbon binds to good and bad things and even drugs like birth control and can make them less effective etc. When I buy a RO system, I want to get assurance that it won't leak but the sales person I'm dealing with right now is skirting around it. He told me I could just replace the final carbon filter with another sediment filter. I asked him to ask the manufacturer and he said he did and it'd be okay but I for many reasons I am skeptical that he even asked. Also, systems are made to work a certain way. Just swapping out one cartridge for the other may have negative effects in flow etc. I asked the sales person to give me the manufacturer's contact info (as it's changed) as I'd like to talk directly with them and he keeps avoiding giving it to me. I think they are selling old RO systems from back in 2002 from the paperwork I see. Not a good sign.( It's like buying a car and not being allowed to talk with the manufacturer.) Anyhow, I am so grateful you're willing to do this experiment for me - and the greater good. Maybe you can even make a UA-cam video of it! Truly, I think it's something we all need to be concerned about and don't think anyone knows that millions of us using carbon filters can be ingesting carbon dust - and lots of it - on a regular basis. I contemplated calling the news station but YOU may be just the perfect person to get the word out if it IS a public health concern. As for the now, I'm hoping you will have a nice clear sink in the morning. Side question:, do all the RO systems you've ever known use a carbon filter at the end of the process ie after it goes through the RO layer? I'm getting the impression they ARE all configured that way. So I guess the question may be: which units allow carbon dust through and which don't? Thank you again for anything you can add to these qustions - you really ARE the Water Guy 👍🏽 👏🏽 😁

      @@water_estore Wow, that's fantastic news, Gary! Thank you so much for running that test. Do you remember how long ago you had changed your final carbon filter ie has it been purging for months or perhaps it was more recently you changed it? Obviously if it were to leak (like my fridge one) it'd be more apt to do it soon after a change. I'd love to know how yours stands up immediately following a change. Do they tell you to purge some water every time you do change the cartridges? Also, if you wouldn't mind doing the test immediately following your next change it, I'd love to hear of those results - belt and suspender. Hoping there will be zero carbon dust thereafter as well. It gives me much comfort to think this could be a non issue though as I hunt for the right RO system. And thanks re the option of removing the carbon filter too if that ever did become an issue. Do you feel confident that wouldn't matter in any way with the system functioning as it was built to function? Also, thank you for the link to your own RO unit. I don't think I want the re-mineralization(because of my kidney issues that need to be closely controlled) but I bet Hum has other models that wouldn't have that. How old IS your system? And the bigger question is, does the company have authorized, well-trained plumbers/carpenters who can install them? Did they install yours or did you do it? I'm in Massachusetts, USA. Hoping to find a reputable company here to do the install. I'm hoping also to put mine in my basement so it doesn't take up all my under-cabinet space, but I'm concerned that the "waste water" will then have to be pumped up to my PVC drain pipe which will be above the system ie the bottommost drain pipes in my home sort of sit at ceiling level in my basement so the RO unit will have to be beneath it and the 'waste water' will have to be pumped up to it. Do you happen to know if there IS a pump system built into these or one would have to be added. Does your RO unit automatically pump that 'waste water' to your drain pipes or does it just use gravity? No worries if you don't have these answers but I have a feeling you do, 😉 Thank you though so much for all you have already provided. I'm truly grateful and feeling more optimistic now too. I will look further into the Hum systems as well - again though I just am concerned about a proper installation (the doesn't cause damage elsewhere in my home) and a company that will back up their work fully and easily ie great customer support - something not so easy to find today. Thank you again for all - you really ARE The Water Guyl!!! 😁

      Just realizing another option: could a GOOD, dependable plumber easily install a system like this, or is it a bit complex and would it be in my best interest to do it via a company who specializes in this? Laure was pretty good as well. Other than that, Fiji or Voss takes the cake for me for best taste. Never have cared for Evian that much. I really like the water from the "ZEROWater" pitchers. It's very good. But those filters are just too expensive, and go bad so fast to make it reasonable to me. WHen they turn, they turn the water sour big time. But when it's good, it's very good. Update: I would have to say after drinking all the more expensive waters, Icelandic is the only one that does not upset my stomach after drinking it in quantity. I would now rank 1: Icelandic, tied for 2: Fiji, and 3: Voss, and 4: Evian.

    You stated that the Evian water was the first time you’ve seen silica in any of the bottled water (13:37 mark). However, while displaying the Fiji label you noted there was 93 ppm of silica in it (8:11 mark). This is important since mineral rich water with SILICA can help remove aluminum from your body. Also, the Fiji label you displayed shows fluoride is added. The Fiji water label that I purchase in the United States does not state fluoride. I don’t know if that means there’s no fluoride added or they decided to leave it off the label.

      Yes, it looks like I didn't recall the silica. Labelling is notoriously lacking on these bottles of water, so you never know. Did you check out my newer bottled water video yet which is here? ua-cam.com/video/lBq-z9Xu4Rc/v-deo.html

    Hi, I just want to find the best water system ? Do you know of one ? I’ve been testing all kinds of water and I was very surprised distilled water has chlorine in it which really surprised me ?

    I really like Dasani. I hadn't given much thought to what might be best for health, I just think it tastes better than other options.

    I’m wondering if I’m putting my health at risk by refilling plastic Smart water bottles with drinking water that I buy by the gallon and lemon juice. I reuse the smart water sports cat bottles because they are easy to drink out of and it keeps me accountable for how much water I’m drinking a day. I keep one next to my bed, and like I said it has lemon water in it. I noticed something was floating in it and I think it was mold. I don’t know if that acid from the lemon is eating the plastic away and I’m drinking toxins . I’ve heard it’s bad to reuse plastic water bottles and that’s what I’ve been doing for decades.

      Those single use bottles are not to be refilled and reused.

      @@water_estore I was afraid you’d say that. I cannot find another water bottle that is lightweight enough and fits well in my hand like a smart water bottle. I’ve been using them to run for over a couple decades now

      Up to a point, keep in mind the huge amount of water that is in packaged and prepared foods. You definitely don't need salt in your water.

    I truly appreciated the information you provided in this video. But I am disappointed you didn't include aqua panna water. What are your thoughts on this one? Obviously, their option in the glass bottle would be the better choice.
