The number ended up in totality to be about 1.5 billion, which at the time was more than 1/4 of the entire population of the globe.

Maybe I'm biased... Mom raised me on this man.. but truly... I'm 56 now.. listening.. never in my life have I heard a better voice... he just had it.. he could sing gosspel, country, rock, blues... .. he just had it all .. no autotune... it was his VOICE! and if you don't love it.. you're tone deaf...

Elvis has a black belt in Karate, and that is where some of his moves come from. As a very young man, his dance moves were so amazing, Michael Jackson picked up a couple of them.

For sure. I chuckled when you called them exercises. He was showing off his karate moves on stage. He became an 8th grade black belt & even started his own karate studio. There are FB videos of him in karate studios. Interesting for us Elvis fans to watch.

Thanks for giving Elvis a chance you will love the 68 comeback special "Trying to Get To You". And you are right only 4 years later he would be gone..I am a child of the 1950's and was a teenager when he came out 1956. He set the styles, the hair cuts. He made 31 movies and forever changed music and culture. He is the largest seling Single artist of all time over 2 billion. He has sold more gospel recordings than anyone in the world. To see what he went through in the segregated 50's watch," Elvis Presley and the Black Community". Thanks you are a great reactor.

Jane H commenting …. Elvis was very patriotic, & wanted a costume that would show his pride in being American, as this was the very first live concert to be beamed worldwide via satellite. It had a cape with a big gold eagle across it, which he donned at the end of the concert, & turned his back to the audience & held it spread out. I watched this concert live from New Zealand, when I was 21, along with my husband, & I thought Elvis looked so magnificent. The costume fit him perfectly & he was such a beautiful-looking man that I couldn’t take my eyes off him. Also, he was 6ft tall & just commanded that stage. This was actually Frank Sinatra’s song originally, & Elvis did it as a Cover, & may I say, not in a shy way.

At some point the iconic opera singer Luciano Pavarotti was asked who he wished he could sound like if he could sound like anybody in the world and he named Elvis Presley. He thought that if Elvis had had any classical vocal training, he might well have become one of the greatest opera singers of the 20th century. Now THAT is really saying something.
    Great reaction.

I’ve caught a couple of your reactions and I had to subscribe. I’m watching you react to my Way live from Hawaii and you’re discussing about how my Way is the conclusion of a lifetime I want you to react to the same song my way, but go to Elvis 1977 live. This was filmed at his last live filmed performance. He died a few weeks later. The impact of that particular song, I think Elvis knew it was his farewell to the world. It was so magnificent almost will bring you to tears. I’ve been an Elvis fan for 65 years and was lucky enough to see him live eight times in concert as a teenager young man those where are the brightest moments when I look back on my lifetime. I didn’t love him because he was handsome more sexy. You’re a numerous thing I can think of I loved him for the man that he was he was my all time American hero remains that to this day my son, and now my granddaughter is an Elvis fan he reaches into your soul and speaks to you in a way no one else can I know you mentioned the jumpsuit that he was in Elvis was a black belt in karate, and he felt the jumpsuits were stretchable and helped him to maneuver on stage without ripping his pants. The bling well can’t have Elvis Presley without the bling because that was who he was, I couldn’t picture him and anything else no other man could pull that off, but he could so God bless you young man I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your exploring Elvis perhaps you too Will be affected by the genius and a humble man that he was. Another suggestion, watch Elvis and the black community parts one and two believe me it’ll shock the hell out of you. God bless stay safe keep playing Elvis and you’ve got me watching. Take care.

I loved watching you just sit back and absorb both the song & Elvis's performance 💖
    Wonderful reaction! Well done!
    Thank you 💜🙏💙
So first: You have a very calming speaking voice. It's very pleasant. However I was listening to your reaction through my phone & with no headphones or anything. So whenever you spoke I did have to turn the volume up to the highest it goes.
The sound on Elvis's performance was perfect on the other hand. I could hear every word Elvis was singing, no problem.
Second: A bit of song info on this one for you: My Way" is a song popularized in 1969 by Frank Sinatra set to the music of the French song "Comme d'habitude" composed by Jacques Revaux with lyrics by Gilles Thibaut and Claude François and first performed in 1967 by Claude François. Its English lyrics were written by Paul Anka and are unrelated to the original French song.
Elvis Presley began performing the song in concert during the mid-1970s, despite Anka's suggestions that the song did not suit him. Nevertheless, on January 12 and 14, 1973, Presley sang the song during his satellite show Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite, beamed live and on deferred basis (for European audiences, who also saw it in prime time), to 43 countries via Intelsat.
On October 3, 1977, several weeks after Presley's death, his live recording of "My Way" (recorded for the Elvis In Concert CBS-TV special on June 21, 1977) was released as a single. In the U.S., it reached number 22 on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart in late 1977/early 1978 (higher than Frank Sinatra's peak position), number 6 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, and went gold for its successful sales of over a million copies. The following year the single reached number 2 on the Billboard Country singles chart but went all the way to number 1 on the rival Cash Box Country Singles chart. In the UK, it reached number 9 on the UK Singles Chart.
Presley's version is featured in the climax of the 2001 film 3000 Miles to Graceland with Kurt Russell and Kevin Costner. (Paul Anka appears in a cameo as a casino pit boss who loathes Presley.)
Presley's studio version of the song, recorded in 1971, was included on the fourth disc of "Walk a Mile in My Shoes: The Essential '70s Masters".
David Bowie wrote the first English language lyrics to Claude François's original tune, though the lyrics and performance were only informally recorded and never commercially published.
And now for a bit of Aloha From Hawaii history for you, but first I have to give you a little bit of info on American singer- songwriter Kui Lee:
Kui Lee (born Kuiokalani Lee; July 31, 1932 - December 3, 1966) was an American singer-songwriter. Lee began his career in the mainland United States while performing as a dancer. Upon his return to Hawaii, he worked in clubs. At the Honey club, he met Don Ho, who popularized Lee's compositions. Ho's fame made Lee a local success in Hawaii. Multiple artists then covered his song "I'll Remember You".
Aloha From From Hawaii (1973) via Satellite info (just a bit of history):
Elvis Presley, who recorded a cover of Lee's "I'll Remember You" in the summer of 1966, included the song during his live sets between 1972 and the summer of 1976. In 1973, the proceeds of his concert Aloha from Hawaii Via Satellite benefited the Kui Lee Cancer Fund. It raised US$75,000 (equivalent to $494,400 in 2022). Hawaii newspaper columnist Eddie Sherman had created the fund shortly before the event to assist cancer research at the University of Hawaiʻi.
Also: Since the concert was going to beamed all over the world via Satellite, Elvis was a humble guy but he was also a proud American and was aware that he was going to be representing America (in a way) as an entertainer all over the world.
So he told his stage costume designer Bill Belew that he wanted quote "something that said 'America'." Hence why there was a large bejeweled American Bald Eagle on the back of his cape and also why you see bejeweled American Bald Eagles and stars decorating his jumpsuit.
Finally: A critic once called Elvis quote "the Master of the microphone". This was in a newspaper concert review I found online dated 1971.
There is such a thing called "mic technique".
Just real quick: To amplify your voice you actually pull the microphone further away from your mouth.
When you are going into the softer notes you draw the microphone closer to your mouth.
So watching Elvis over the past 3 years that is one of the "little" things about Elvis. He had great mic technique. He knew how to use the microphone to accentuate different tones and volumes of his voice/ vocal pitches.
At least that's what Elvis and other performers back then had to learn of they wanted to properly deliver all of the nuances of the voice/ vocal agility.
Nowadays as you have said modern day microphones have so much more tech put into them.
I sincerely hope the above answers any and all questions you may have had or did have and expressed in your reaction.
Once again, THANK YOU so much for a most thoughtful & wonderful reaction.
    Very thoroughly enjoyed 😊🌻🌞💛
    TCB ⚡ & TLC ❤ & peace ✌& blessings 🙏 to you & yours & to one & all here as well 💕

Elvis makes the song so much sadder than Frank Sinatra. You should compare them. Song written by Paul Anka. And you're right...successful singers nowadays have access to incredible production and tech such as auto tune and pitch correction etc which sound engineers can do during live performances. So much pre-production can go into seemingly live performances...layered vocals, playback and etc. This is all elvis and his musicians. I cherish older music for this reason x

The jumpsuits he wore were inspired by his karate suits. He could move freely in them for his dance routines. In some years to come, people will be saying " did they really dress in t shirts & hats" the exercises were karate moves not stretches. Goo d job because when he was attackd on stage by 4 men he was able to karate kick one straight off the stage while his bodyguards took care of the others. Don't mock the suits. They're his trademark It's better than guys wandering aroung with jeans halfway down their butt and half their boxes showing.

Just a note to say your voice is so low that it's a bit difficult to understand everything you are saying -- the video volume is fine - very loud when i turn it up in order to hear you.
BACKGROUND INO for THIS SONG: Originally from the French song "Comme d'habitude," it was composed by Jacques Revaux with lyrics by Gilles Thibaut & Claude François. The English version was written by Paul Anka who re-worked the original version for Frank Sinatra & subtly altered the melodic structure and changing the lyrics, & made popular in 1969 by Sinatra. Altho' Sinatra sang it many times, his daughter Nancy said Sinatra did not like the song to the point of eventually hating it.
A Note About Sinatra's Voice: someone explained the difference between Sinatra & Elvis when Elvis made an appearance on Sinatra's special in the early '60's. This person said Sinatra's voice was pitch perfect (it was); Sinatra's voice was louder than Elvis (it was); Sinatra's voice was FLAT (ABSOLUTELY). There was no emotion from Sinatra. And there lies one of the many differences between Elvis & other singers -- he gave every song full emotion from his soul & his gut -- & amazingly, the power in his voice was sheer power, it was not yelling.
Elvis needed NO special effects -- it was all his greatness. In fact, special effects would have absolutely ruined him. Someone who broke down & analyzed his voice explained why his voice can NOT be auto-tuned but if the day ever comes for technology to mess w-his voice, such as auto-tune, it would be catastrophic. Elvis needs to be left alone to do what he did best! Thanks.

I just found you a day or tŵo ago. Already checked out several reactions. I am liking them a lot. Love your voice. In this one, your voice was a little hard to hear. My volume was all the way up. So just one request, please. Can you increase the volume of your voice only for us folks that are a little older? Music was fine. I am a huge Elvis fan.

BRO, I can't hear you when you speak! It's like your microphone isn't "on" or something.
I'd wanted to say before when you presented ELVIS singing "Bridge Over Troubled Water", that the volume of the music needs to be turned UP!
    Otherwise enjoying your Channel!
I may be Minnesota's biggest ELVIS fan!
A request, From that same "Aloha From Hawaii Satellite television Concert" beamed at once to over one and a half billion viewers worldwide, "American Trilogy".
Also, from 1972, "How Great Thou Art", Live in Concert.
    THANK YOU for listening! 🤗

I agree about the soft voice. I want to hear what you say. The sound of the music on the video seems okay - it's your speaking voice that I struggle to hear.

Six weeks before his death, he sang this song, MY WAY, live on stage. Please check it out. He put so much heart and soul behind every note. Even though his health was in such decline, his voice never failed him. Please give it a listen and compare. Here is the link. ua-cam.com/video/zR_NwNR9vTc/v-deo.html&pp=ygUfbXkgd2F5IGVsdmlzIHByZXNsZXkgbGl2ZSAxOTc3IA%3D%3D. Of course at the time no one knew that he would die just a few weeks later. I must say that I have seen a lot of different folks do these Reaction videos, but I have never enjoyed them as much as yours. You try to get the story and meaning behind every song. YOU ARE THE BEST I HAVE SEEN doing this on UA-cam.

Do you know what I actually find amusing about your reaction, is how you reacted to his costume. Because you have no concept of what Elvis was bringing to the people back in his day. Don't forget this was back in the 60's and 70'S. It was actually history in the making....do a little research about Elvis and who he was before you belittle his outfits of that day and age. Elvis what an awesome showman, hence, the outfit. Do your subscribers a little service, try to add a little video on Elvis and the Black community to your platform, instead of just mocking someone

Check out "Make The World Go Away" from 1970 Las Vegas. Footage from a series of shows shot for a documentary movie called That's The Way It Is. The live Suspicious Minds you reacted to was from one of those shows as well.

Elvis should never have sung this song. Why? Because he did NOHING! his way. It was the colonels way or else.

@@jennyjorgensen9935 let me ask you this. why is it,
      1. why are you attracted to Elvis videos?
      2. why are you trolling my comments and thank you for that.
3.am I not allowed to have an opinion?
      4. or is it only okay so long as my comment paints Elvis in a good light and you Elvis fans agree with it?
      5. when I woke up this morning I noticed I lived in a democratic country and was still entitled to have an opinion.
      6. in answer to your question. Elvis did nothing his way. Ask any real Elvis fan and they will tell you the colonel worked him to death and Elvis did nothing about it. So you see Jenny, that is why Elvis should never have sung it. Because he did NOTHING! his way.
      7. Now Jenny, could you please furnish me the information in any of my comments where I have disrespected Elvis? Can you do that? Probably not, and do you know why? Because you can't separate the truth from a comment about the truth. 😜
