I hoped you checked with real locals who have a long time history of the place. Like this, the real story told to me, the one of 3 different ones and I've been a local for over 40 years. Was in the days up on Fairview, the hotels up there burned. It was a terrible fire and someone got caught up in the flames and literally walked out of the fire, then died. It was said, on certain nights, he appears, walking out the fire. Well, the hotels burned down around 100 years ago. All the later stories have it moved to some bridge that has been replaced twice in my time, since then and down by the creek road camping area where it is said, he haunts. That's the oldest one I know of; and the only one actually supported by facts.
The version i heard from an elderly local, that graduated Villanova in 1959, was that it was a hobo camping under the bridge who got caught in the 1948 fire. The hobo managed to survive the blaze but was badly burnt. When the fire passed he came up to the bridge for help and passed out. When he was found, he woke up and the last thing he said was "help me, help me," and then died on the brdge. He said, "the reason no one mentions his death in the official record was because he wasnt from ojai and was just a hobo anyway, so why put that in a newspaper headline?"
This was actually pretty good stuff. It’s definitely up there with the movie grave encounters which is another one of my favorite found footage horror films. As is paranormal activity franchise. Blair witch was ok to. But btw Blair and graves I like the latter a little better. This one was well done. The bell witch is also another great found footage horror film which I have on DVD. Plus it’s posted on UA-cam. The cast and crew who put this one together did a great job great work here
Char Man is a fun indie found-footage film that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It has some genuinely creepy moments and a unique sense of humor that makes it a good watch if you go in with the right expectations. Fans of low-budget horror should check this one out.
Same director (producer too i think?) Made a pretty good flick called: Evil at the door. Or something like that. It has its ups n downs. Good violence, great characters, sound was ok, music was meh. Most say the negatives out weigh the positives, but some like me like it enough to forgive the negatives. C +. Has some black humor to it. Ive known ool in the occult, and theree some similarities there too. Which is why i like it more thsn most. I like it more than half way thru this film. Hopefully this gets better tho??

Sorry to all the kind reviewers but the ending 20 min are so bad, I mean f... really they would runaway from those....? It lucks imagination like my punctuation. Started Great, really good and kept going ok but the last quoter is as entertaining as a long wait in line in a packed supermarket.
The ending ruined it for me ... I guess given the budget, there was no way they could have delivered something else, but honestly ... Kids wearing masks ? Some sort of posesion ? I don't know, really underwhelming even for an indie film. Its like a 3/10 sadly.
_Nah but when their was the 3 masked kids at the window and he was trying to press record but couldnt and you just knew the kids was long gone but i was busted out laughing because i knew the door was gonna be locked and they was gonna be tripping over each other Lamo i literally was laughing so did anybody else think it was a bunch of funny parts like when he threw richard over the bridge again for the 2nd part 〽️ nobody can top blairwitch that movie made me scared and it didnt even watch it till years later well me and my friends hung white Chistmas lights in 1999 up in the woodline by his lake where u drive up and theirs an picnic table the pond is about the size of a football field well it was when Blair witch was in the theaters well we threw a party and my clic which was the most popular i might add most of us played football i played football and baseball well we was so turned up about this party and i got their a little late so my buddys had allready dropped Acid so that was the whole deal why we was their with lights we put up the day bafore well i had to wait for the guy to come back with another vile he had it in a viscene bottle well when he got back my friends was in their on little world buggin out so me and my friends older brother that the pond belongs to their family so im hangin out and when he got their me and my friends brother walked dowwn the bank of the pond away from everybody and our boy from Cali breaks out the Viscene Bottle and i give him the money and as soon as hes squeezing a drip which is a hit A helicopter 🚁 comes roaring over our head and feekes our boy out and squeezes Like atleast 10 hits out by accident he was only suppost to squeez two big drips like when u drip the hits over sugar cubes is the safest way so hes like fuck And had a reaction cause he was trippin balls tht the 🚁 made him tense up and squeeze the f out of the bottle,Dude looks over at me and sais bro your gonna be Waisted Bro stay near by we got u So im hanging out mackin on chicks and thwn it comes on heavy i couldnt even make out who i was talkin to my friends little brother who i helped put the lights up is on 3 or 4 and im on like 10 or 15 and im basicly tripping by myself and it sucks my homeboys are just doin their on thing will I go to the woods to use the bathroom and it ends up taking me 30 minutes to find my way back if it wasn't for the Christmas lights we had put up I probably would have never found it I had never even watched The Blair witch project but I was freaked out by with those lights and we put up in the woods tripping on acid and then to make it worse everybody has started splitting and going their own direction and leaving and I ended up going with some other friends and when I ended up with him at another house I was the only one trippin by myself and then to top it off they broke out some cocaine and I swear to you I looked at the clock and it started going backwards this was a bad trip I went home and I didn't go back to sleep for another day the acid lasted forever i was freeked out by the Blair witch 🧹 and didnt watch the shit yet LMAO and i dont get scared easily But 20 years later i would end up having real paranormal activities and had to go to a cone health center and their was so many demons their i swear when i walked in a big wiff of Sulfar Brimstone and Burnt flesh was making me gag just like in the Char Man flic that stuff is real I need to make an Audiobook on my 3 years of hell with Aliester Crowleys book of the law and a used book Portable Darkenss With all the best books 📚 Crowley wrote about his philosophy and Magick in theory and practice Now that will be atleast two or three books and it might even be a trilogy_
