Holy cannelloni, this is amazing! Such an impressive instrument and player. Really liked her song.
But can't help but wonder...70-something strings - that'll take a while to tune. And it has levers for changing the pitch and the bridge is mounted on fish skin? That's not helping with keeping in tune, isit? :D

Kanun comes out from the greek word "Κανών" (Kanoon) that means "Rule". It is based in ancient music theory from mathematician Pythagoras.

I don't know if you live there but I think the qanun is also music instrument used in Armenian Traditional music.
If you do live in Armenia, search, find and go for it!

It means law because the name is coming from the Greek word "κανόνας'' which has the meaning of law in ancient Greek also the Greek word expressing this instrument is ''κανονάκι" which has the exact same meaning.
The origin of this instrument must be from Israel, I am not 100% sure.
This kind of music system with sub-notes originates and was established in Byzantium in approx. 800 A.D.
