Hi Felicia. This is amazing. Beautiful story. 🙏🏾💪🏾keep pushing & keep growing.🌹
Thank you so very much dear Reksel!!! Thank you so much for being part of the filming team and writing this story with me! Let's keep growing together!
Thank you, Felicia! I listened to your interview with Nikki on The Portrait System podcast while on a road trip, and then immediately wanted to see your studio tour on UA-cam. A fantastic job doing so much with a small studio. I love your down-to-earth personality and approach with clients...that really resonates with me. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much dear Ginger for your kind words, it's lovely to hear them and to know, that you are inspired. I hope to see your studio tour also!
Love seeing the winner of last year's PM working with what she has. There is literally no excuse! I love your creative use of materials
Thank you so much Tia! Yes, at some point i stopped crying about what i all do not have and started asking myself... "How can i make it work"? Investing into education/ mastery goes for me above or before getting the most top notch gear, even-though of course it's wonderful to have that.
Wow, what beautiful images, and Felicia did such an incredible job taking us through the details of her workflow and studio with such joy and enthusiasm. Thank you!
You are so very welcome dear Whitney!
You are so great!!! thank you for the fantastic tour!
Dear Eve, thank you for your feedback, i really hope it's motivating to watch!
Wow! Your work is so amazing! I must learn posing. You pose your clients superbly!
Thank you so very much Ajax! It's a learning by doing process, keep going and trust your eye and yourself! A big part is being comfortable, which translates to having your client relax and feel comfortable as well.
Thanks, your video was so supportive and hope filled.
You are officially my
Mrs Bruce Lee Roy.
Gurl you got that glow....
(The Last Dragon movie)
Hi James, you made me laugh, wonderful! Thank you so much for your feedback! It makes me happy if you found useful tips in here! (gonna need to watch that movie! LOL)
You give me hope 😇 I'm also bad at marketing. And look at what you've done!
It's a process for us all, we all have or "strength & weaknesses". For me it's one step at a time, and enjoying the journey, which i hope you are too!
Loved your studio tour Felicia; you are so inspiring...I can totally relate when you said you prefer to network digitally, (the in person thing terrifies me). When you say you started mostly on Facebook, did you do Facebook Ads or did you you boost your posts? Just wondering what worked for you best apart from great customer service. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and your special studio❤❤
Hallo Anna! thank you for your kind words. I basically just share posts which are being seen by my island community, so it;s very local "limited". I tried a couple of boosts and ads, but nothing worth mentioning, i guess i just don't get it how it works and for my 20k island inhabitants i don't need paid ads... the local groups and word of mouth gives me enough exposure. However if i would want to expand my reach further i can image paid ads would make sense. Might happen at some point. Also my clients happen to be often very proud and excited to share/post their images themselves. So of course they can always post them first if they want, and can tag me.
Amazed at the variety you create in such a small space...very inspiring! Can you convert the studio size from metric to imperial? (I can do straight meters to feet but not sure what it means when you say "3 meters 50" for excample). Also...what is your ceiling height?
Thank you Mike! Let me look up my exact space for you!
My Studio total is 14.5m² = 156 square-foot // room height 2.4m = 7.8 foot // If I subtract my build in cupboard and the area of the door opening into the room, it leaves me with a shooting space/ room to move/ space to put things of 3.40m x 3.65m = 11.15 foot x 11.95 foot which is 12m² = 129 square-foot. The office room is same square-meters only the build in cupboard is on another wall, so the office room is longer and less wide. I hope this helps?
@@feliciaschutteportraitbona8051 thanks for taking time to convert this for me. I aspire to creating work in a small space as well and you are quite the inspiration.
@@mikestewart4733 it is my pleasure and i hope there are some ideas for you in my tour. ...and show us your space!!!
Whats that ikea sofa name? Please
Uh. i need to look that up!
Beautiful images! Do you charge for a consultation?
Dear Sharon, thank you so very much for your lovely feedback. I previously misunderstood your question... you mean for a client consultation, right? No, -even though the consultation is listed under my session fee, it's actually complimentary. Sometimes there is a first consultation more as a general info consultation,- and then when the client decides to book not right away, but in a later point in time, then we have the actual planning consultation for the shoot. I hope that makes sense.
Thank you!
@@sharonhaasbroek7464 very welcome! ...oh...and i see a part of my answer is "striked through"... no idea why.
13:10 1.2mm :)
Oh my...Yes! Hilarious! :-) Its of course a 50mm f1.2 ...and i also said a lot of other incredible things such as drop-floor (i think), ...reflecting into the ceiling, ....light scenes and certainly more funny things....that's what you get if one is so nervous and English isn't the first language and no-one there to correct you. :-) But i am still hoping to be an inspiration.
A lot of fear about covid.
Dear Jennifer, do you mean, that you are afraid, or your clients... or just in general? I (still) have my routine in place with disinfecting, mouth mask and keeping client contact to a minimum, doing my consultations and reveals via ZOOM plus keeping amount of persons present during the shoot to an absolute minimum. I am careful and respect my own and my clients health and if the numbers are rising i postpone or cancel shoots. Yes, that does reflect in my turnover, but i stay positive.
@@feliciaschutteportraitbona8051 I feel sorry for you, living in fear like that. Mouth mask ..... ewwww disgusting!
@@bonesbarker25 Fear and respect are two different energies and states to be in. The last comment is irrelevant to the educational, caring and sharing nature of the video and I kindly ask to refrain from judgement. I thank you.
@@feliciaschutteportraitbona8051 kindly refrain from judging? Or kindly refrain from judging negatively? It was such a shame to see someone with creativity not use their brain to actually think.
