Hi James, such fantastic models! I would love to see a tutorial of how you paint your tanks. Or even just a quick walk through of the steps you took to paint your company. It's such a great scheme; I think the 'dark guard' look is such a great mix of realism and grimdark!
StrikingScorpion82 Aww thanks arch enemy of My Regiment lol! 😂😂 all senior Tank commanders will have one attached, with an Agur Array (or coms relay at the cost of 5pts) I can re-roll one dice hit as back up too which is nice. 😎👍
A British tank squadron is led by a major, each tank troop (ie 3 tanks in your company, 4 in the British army) is led by a 2nd Lt or a Lt, 1 other tank would be commanded by the troop sgt, and the third and fourth by a Corporal. No such thing as a master sgt in the British army, and a warrant officer is either a class 1 (RSM) or a class 2 (sergeant major), neither of which would be in a tank, they would be behind, coordinating ammo and fuel resupply etc. Anyway, lovely tanks, they look awesome, and of course they can be whatever you want them to be! Stig.
Stig ofthe Dump thanks mate😊Yeah I should of mentioned it was a mixture of both British and US when it comes to the ranking system, it was my fault for not mentioning that 🙈 but the MAIN majority of the rankings is British within the regiment itself. Not only that individual Cadian regiments have their own system of command as it is not universal for the IG to be all the same according to the 40k lore. When organising the regiment for infantry it was a little more complex than I realised, but that's for a future showcase vid lol! 😊
It's great info. I think the Imperial Guard would have a pretty massive and convoluted ranking system depending on the world in question. But using the British/Commonwealth ranking system is a good start but I think they'd have a lot of additional NCO and officer Ranks since you'd likely have some fairly massive units involved, but regardless you still need to start with a squad/section and build up.
I used a light grey spray, applied a black wash, used Abaddon Black for the pattern, used codex grey for the edges, then Eshen Grey highlight were the black has not been painted. 😊
Actually not enough officers. But it's awesome regardless. Each tank in an armoured unit is equivalent to a section or squad in the Infantry. You'd have a Captain or Major as a Company or Troop Commander and Lieutenants as Platoon Commanders, a Platoon in this case being 3 or 4 vehicles. So it's basically an officer for every third or fourth tank and a senior NCO in most of the rest. Armoured units have more officers and NCOs proportionally because they have smaller numbers but you still need the same number of leadership in such units. Light role Infantry whether it's today or the 41st millenium would have the highest number of privates to NCOs or Officers.

To much officer in your compagny!!
Joce Bar not to me lol😉 you have to remember that only one crewmen within a tank has the actual ranking as the rest are Guardsmen. 😊
