    Just used this guide to magnetise my first ever IG tank. It was super useful, and just going and doing all the secondary weapons felt like great practise. Never done sometime like this before, except for the big sails on my Raider.

    Lol, I've been procrastinating on magnetising my Leman Russ and now I'm happy that I did, otherwise I wouldn't have seen this video before I did so. This'll be a big help for when I get around to it. Keep up the great work.

      @@MoMagnets I did! at least most of it anyhow. Although in true procrastination fashion I still haven't painted it after all this time. I've mostly been bulking up my forces with infantry and the leman russ is a low priority compared to that, and so it remains unpainted, lol.

    I saw your post on reddit but I actually saw your video naturally! Was honestly sad to see the low sub count but just realized it’s a new channel, keep it up! Those magnets sound really strong do you mind sharing where you got them? Or what kind they are. I get mine from amazon but I don’t feel they are this strong.

    Damn I'm an idiot. Thought I was gonna have to remove the whole damn sponson but then I looked at the first thirty seconds and realized I'm a moron.

    • @MoMagnets
      @MoMagnets  2 роки тому +1

      You're too hard on yourself! I could see why one might want to magnetize the entire sponson structures themselves...since if you wanted to run the Russ without the sponson weapons it might look weird to just take the weapons out of the recessed slots and have big sponsons still there but with empty sockets.

    Is there enough material around the upper armor of the hull where you magnetized the turret to the 12 o'clock position to magnetize 11 more positions? I want to be able to clock the turret with out it being fiddly, just rotate into position and lock it in.

    • @MoMagnets
      @MoMagnets  3 роки тому +1

      Great question, I’d say that there is enough material there, but going for 11 other positions might be overkill. I’d also be a little concerned about the structure of that area getting weaker overall from all the drilling. Realistically, the friction fit is plenty tight enough and I only did that 12 o clock magnet in case it get got loose in the future from lots of wear and tear. But it probably never will. If you really want to be able to “click” into different positions, I’d recommend just drilling in the 9, 12, and 3 o clock positions. Maybe 6 ad well, but i think the turret would look odd facing completely backwards.

    • @SixCylinderSamurai
      @SixCylinderSamurai 3 роки тому +1

      @@MoMagnets Perhaps just the 12,11, and 01 o'clock positions? The top of the turret should cover those up without seeing the magnets on the hull?

    • @MoMagnets
      @MoMagnets  3 роки тому

      @@SixCylinderSamurai Yes that should be fine and you wouldn’t see the magnets under the turret. Just test the friction fit though to make sure you still want to bother with multiple magnets there since it already is pretty tight on its own.

    • @SixCylinderSamurai
      @SixCylinderSamurai 3 роки тому +1

      @@MoMagnets Will do. I just want help eliminate alot of the stress put on the friction fit turret to the hull when you do rotate it, and still have it fixed into position while on the tabletop but also transporting and storing the model. Locking the turret at the 6 o'clock position gives you the most storage room on top of most magnetic storage tray systems. While 11, 12, and 01 o'clock are the most used firing angles for real battle tanks. I'm working on a sisters army that can be totally modular with it's arms, heads, weapons/turrets to help create more of a multipose army since GW has pretty much switched to the high detail monopose multi part kits. Can't really complain though since the new models look fantastic and don't weigh 60lbs to carry around.

    What do you use to drill the holes? A hand drill?

    • @MoMagnets
      @MoMagnets  2 місяці тому

      Yes a small hand drill. You can find them for cheap online and use various sizes of small drill bits. 1, 2, and 3mm drill bits are my go-to sizes, but I also have a 5mm one for bigger magnets for vehicles and stuff.

    So what size drill bits do I need?
    3x1 ans 2x1 magnets?
    What type of super glue do you use?
    Do you use any greenstuff?

    • @MoMagnets
      @MoMagnets  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, for 3x1mm magnets and 2x1mm magnets, you simply need the corresponding sized drill bit. So a 3mm one and a 2mm one. Or if you want to use some 5mm magnets, you need a 5mm drill bit, and so on.
      I think I mention in the video which size I used for each section, but they were mainly the 3x1mm ones since they are stronger. I only used the 2x1mm ones when there wasn't much space to drill.
      I don't remember what kind of super glue I used, but any regular old super glue brand should work. But the small "1 time use" tubes are nice because they have a small apllicator tip and they run out before they get all gunky. And you can get a pack of like 5 or 10 little tubes for cheap.
      I didn't use any greenstuff for this, wasn't necessary. In future videos if I ever use green stuff I will point it out in the video.
      Thanks for watching!

Sometimes when he drops stuff on camera in his kit reviews etc., he'll slow down the footage and add music 😂I chuckled when he dropped a model, it started spinning on the desk in slo-mo, and "Song of Storms" from LoZ Ocarina of Time played.

    for how much each of these cost to buy, i feel like people shouldnt have to go to these lengths on their own. it shouldve been designed like this and supplied with such items already from the get-go. But i guess greedy scummy anti-consumer corporations gotta bleed everyone dry so they can buy that 5th yacht they'll probly never even use....
