So basically the flames of frenzy got the golden order to do a Berserk and have the suffering collective spawn in the three fingers so it can mark the enkindled lord and bring chaos to the world.😺
The 3 fingers is a hand missing 2 fingers, they can be found in RTH and they look like 2 severed fingers. so imagen if you will chaos and "golden order" was one. Was the fingers whole when vike got burned?
I believe that the hand enemies grow into The Fingers to be then noticed by a Will (Frenzy if it lives to three fingers, Greater if it lived down to two fingers)
The frenzied flame ending kind of reminds me of the human instrumentality project from Evangelion. But instead of everyone turning into orange fanta they get turned into ash.
Great video! Agreed on the Vyke bit. Looks like Vyke was able to exorcise the Frenzied Flame by removing one of his eyes. I think the armor played a role in saving his ass from completely succumbing to the Three Finger' touch and because of this he was able to remove the "infection" and return to his old dragon loving self. We only receive one eye when we kill his frenzied phantom(Fingerprint Grape) and when we fight the Evergoal version in the mountaintop area he's tossing around dragon spells like they're going out of style. Makes me wonder who locked him up before he was able to take on the Fire Giant. Plus he was maidenless by this point on account of him likely killing his own maiden under the influence of the Three Fingers.
I like to think that vyke showed up thinking he did the right thing and was happy to tell his maiden he found a way to avert her fate only for the frenzy radiating from vyke to kill her
Having the frenzied guarding that atsel in the consecrated snowfields could’ve made a deal with miquella, they guard arguably the most dangerous being in the area since they don’t really have much to lose before they succumb to the frenzy, and in return they get some form of shelter from the greater will and a potential cure since the only thing in game that can take away the frenzy is miquellas needle
Visually this was my favourite ending. The eyes also make the character look badass. This is the only ending that truly solves the issue of Deathblight and grants peace to poor old Godwyn. Life in death is an aberration, and I wouldn’t place Ranni, which caused it and much misery, to rise to godhood as a result. I’d select the Age of Order otherwise, it seems liveable, but am still very much concerned about those who live in death, not out of spite or hate, it is a terrible curse borne from a flawed order. Either perfect said Order, or purge it all and end the collective misery of the Lands Between, I say.
I guess I never thought of those who live in death as that much of a problem. It's only a problem because the golden order tried to remove true death from reality. Life through death was possible before the erdtree as we see with the ancestral followers, and their giant spirit deer, as well as the spirit animals, we also see a much more brutal way death was handled before the erdtree, what with the deathbirds and all their occult rituals like burning the dead in the ghostflame to turn the unworthy into rancor while worthy dead find the lamp posts of Helphen. I'm blanking alittle bit I have to re read some descriptions but that was my understanding of it. The skeletons coming back and causing a ruckus is because their isn't any deity or being to keep them in line or lead them because under the golden order they're seen as a curse like the omen and misbegotten but just like them they were something the golden order tried to write out but because of that they've come back in a rather twisted and bastardized version of what they should be. Again just my speculation but that was how I read it
@@TheHonoredMadman I see what you mean and definitely before the Golden Order there was the black flame and the deathbirds. Though specifically those who live in death originate from Godwyn’s demise. I see it in terms of their own condition being miserable. They’re tortured souls. Immortals unable to fully die that simply can’t move on to their next phase in the cycle like the ancestral followers. Hell, even Scarlet Rot is preferable, at least they are reformed after death into new life. This was an amazing video, thank you! Looking forward to seeing more content.
To me the Greater Will itself didnt really decide if misbegotten etc weren't part of its "order", its mostly Marika and the people using the Elden Ring to reinforce their beliefs by taking out specific runes from the ring or mending runes onto it (like we do in the end, or how Marika took out death and how Radagon seems to have added his mesh for the vines). The oldest Elden Ring depiction seems to after all have way more runes to it, including roots probably symbolising the roots of the Great Tree. To me that was actually the Crucible, which is said to be the primordial form of the Erdtree, from which the Erdtree eventually grew out of after everything that wasnt its root system was likely destroyed (similar to sprouting from tree stumps)(also similar to how now, there is a tree growing in Aeonia after being infected by the rot). Also on the Three Fingers themselves: Tarnished Archaeologist pointed out that the whole finger situation and Nomads are very likely based on a flipped version of the real life Finger Schism in Russia, where the local priests would sign the cross with 2 Fingers instead of 3 (the exact fingers used seem to be the same as the fingers in Elden Ring, the 2 being pointing and middle finger, with the 3 Fingers being pinky, ringfinger and thumb). This likely stemmed from paintings showing the way to do so being hard to interpret. This ended up being a reason for a very political fight where the followers of the 2 FIngers would be executed etc, or well, buried underground like the Nomadic Merchants. The remaining people of that faith migrated to near Mongolia to live as Nomads, their attire looking like the Nomadic Merchants we know. Similarly the Nomads would now preach their faith without any interperator, hence why in the flipped Elden RIng version, there are no finger readers, but the fingers communicate themselves through the slab. My theory is that the Three Fingers and Two Fingers were both essentially part of the Greater Will (which was possibly part of the One Great) / their envoys in history long past sent together with the Elden Beast, probably representing the Hand Gods together in some way, just that the two different entitys ended up creating different sects of the same faith once they were discovered. The Greater Will did indeed then create all life through the Great Tree / the Crucible in the Lands Between. Then Shabriri came along and instigated the Genocide of the Nomad Merchants and the living burial of them and their relating "god". This ignited the Flame of Frenzy in the Nomads and subsequently the Three Fingers, creating their destructive "nihilistic" worldview, through the sheer injustice of what has been done by followers of the Greater Will. Their motto is essentially, that the Greater WIll did the mistake of creating life in the first place, as it ended up creating all the negative consquences of that decisions, the injustice, the horror. It would now rather have no life at all.
I just wanna share my interpretations about the finger maidens is that of someone who can transform runes into strength and also one who offers guidance toward becoming Elden Lord. Melina literally says it right after saying she can perform the role of a maiden implying she isn't one. So I believe the role of a maiden doesn't go beyond that. The burning of the Erdtree is a plan specially design by Melina and it isn't part of "the journey" a Tarnished must traverse to become a Lord. The impenetrable thorns are set up by Radagon who doesn't want his age of the Golden Order to be replaced. This is backed by the fact the even the Two Fingers weren't aware of it and resort into seeking for a message from the Greater Will on how to proceed. The act of burning the Erdtree is the cardinal sin so it makes no sense for the finger maidens themselves to be instructed to burn it down. In short: finger maiden =/= kindling maiden Another observation is that the supposed Vyke's finger maiden seems to had a "peaceful death" judging by how her body is found so I don't believe that she died from flame of frenzy exposure.
I forget what video it is of yours, but on the outro you got this music playing and you got this dude just jamming on that weapon that the envoys use blowing bubbles and it just goes on for the perfect amount of time and the music matches perfectly and he’s just on that cliff blowing bubble notes like Bill Clinton and I think about that like probably 3 times a day and it’s so funny to me
Island of broken toys. Love it. Your best one yet. As for frenzy, I can't really get a handle on it. Everyone assumes the great one and the greater will are two different entities from the maiden's dialogue, but I'm not so sure. The phrasing suggests otherwise. 'But the greater will made a mistake . . ' That's not how you introduce a second character in an account. It's how you would refer to one already mentioned. If they're the same, it simplifies the issue. The greater will gave something to somebody. In the eyes of the three-fingers, this was a mistake and should be reversed. What was given to whom? And how could it relate to frenzy? 'Having gained intelligence, the beasts must have felt how their wildness slipped away as civilization took hold.' - Bestial Constitution. What if humans were originally those beasts? Intelligence and frenzy are like insight and madness - two sides of the same coin, This could explain why frenzy only affects humans (kind of) and also why you have to strip naked before the three fingers. It returns you to an animal state.
Some notes, disorganised as they are: So far as I understand it The One Great is the Greater Will. The Erdtree is the Crucible. Humanity's connection to and understanding of them is what changes over time. Somewhere the Two Fingers all lost connection to the greater will. The only 'living' Fingers we see are memories within Gideon's mind-palace of the Round Table and the Three Fingers. Ranni has already slain the only other living Fingers that can be said to exist by the time we see it. We have no up to date orders from The Greater Will as understood by the Golden Order. The Three Fingers are known deeply but not specifically to the world's inhabitants, read the un-pickled fowl foot description. The Golden Order is not Golden Order Fundamentalism, the latter is a fanatical sect dedicated to purging everything not explicitly accepted within the ancient laws they follow, founded by Miquella as far as I remember. Marika's Golden Order appears to have tolerated many things, but after the imprisonment and the 'let slip the dogs of war' moment known as the shattering everything went desperate and genocidal. Let me tell you a tale: One day The Greater Will tells Marika that everything has gone wrong. Everything must start again. The Crucible must be relit. The Tree must burn and so must everything else. Marika disagrees. Marika sets plans. Marika rebels. The Elden Ring is shattered and the fight for existence begins. The Nomads are merely being used by the Greater Will as it responded to their wish for ruination and vengeance.
Are you saying the Three Fingers is an agent of the Greater Will? In my opinion thats sort of true. I always took it as a fractured half of the Divine Hand(s). The Nox/eternal cities used the fingerslayer blade and severed the two from three. The three are now frenzied but they still seek to fulfill the Greater Wills vision of order. Albeit order in a fundamentally different and terrifyingly destructive way. Burn away everything that divides and causes adversity. Return to zero because in zero, there is perfect order.
I REALLY enjoyed this one! The whole second Astel thing, I think you may have a point! SOMEONE had to inprison that frickin' space bug! Who else around that area had THAT level of power, in such a remote spot! As added guards, since the Frenzied people and Trolls, who had no other place to go, after Miquella locked up said space bug, helped them set up the Yelough Anix ruins, as their new home! Like you said, THOSE Frenzied folk weren't mindless like the others, so, maybe the reason why, is they had contact with Miquella, who used to try to help and soothe those poor Merchants locked up underneath the Capital, all the time! Maybe after the Golden Order did that to them, that's another reason why Miquella gave the Golden Order the metephorical "finger", not just because the Golden Order and it's Fundamentalism couldn't help his twin sister Malenia cure her Scarlet Rot! Who else, in that area of the world anyway, could have kicked that second Astel's ass, but, "The most fearsome Empyrean of all!" Oh, the Golden Order's perscution of Those Who Live in Death, probably didn't sit too well with Miquella either. Maybe that's another reason he tried to set up the whole Eclipse thing at Castle Sol? Who knows, we'll probable see A LOT in the DLC!
Pretty sure that the great tree/one great avatar is the ancestral beasts. Getting split into two just like the fingers whicch could be why they both appear to be decaying just like the 2 & 3 fingers after they were separated. Potentially making the "5 fingers" the one great and explain why the fire giants had their hands removed and they know scour the lands
unrelated but I never understood why lannseax attacks us. We're literally doing the same thing vyke did but she wants to kill us? Probably just chalk that up to the multitude of plot holes er has
@@TheHonoredMadman My last video got a claim for a loop I sampled from a song called Sarah from diplo, for like 20 seconds. 29 too many… Out of all the videos I’ve posted, the one time I used someone else’s music other then mine hahah.. I feel you
The Astel in the tunnels was buried with the nameless city it destroyed, consider the ruins you can find within the tunnel, exposed by the miners who in standard Lord of the Rings fashion, delved too deep and found their own Balrog. Now who sealed the thing up down there is another question. Was it surviving miners? Mad people from the small township above who spend most of the day resisting the urge to claw their own eyes out? Who knows?
Vyke uses a red lighting buff when you fight in the evergoal. I assume it a regular partisan. But it could still be his war spear just without the frenzied flame.
three fingers and two fingers are one of the same. If you put them together you get full hand with five fingers in perfect order. Frenzy fingers are pinky ,middle and thumb, golden orders fingers are ring finger and index finger.
I really hope to see SOMETHING about the timeline where Melina hunts the lord of frenzy. Maybe it can be explored in another dlc (im doubtful it would be explored in shadow of the erdtree)
So if you look at this through a lovecraft lens. The Greater will could represent Yog Sothoth and The Frenzied Flame 🔥 could represent Nyarlathotep (chaos) because burn the world is his MO
It’s 100% his eye, he loses the eye in the fight with you, and evergoal vyke uses an unobtainable weapon, he uses his war spear but a non infused version that allows him to cast His blessing, the evergoal version is an ancient dragon lightning user
Don’t forget that the rats mostly likely originate from Leyndell’s sewers, they might be the first to have been infected when the three-fingers arrived in the sewers, intentionally infecting them so they’d bite people
He is not using his frenzy spear in the evergaol. But his armor protects him because it is iron. That is the first element too heavy to be eaten by a dying star & survives being crushed by a blackhole
I suppose we could say that the Greater Will is the architect, while the One Great is the creator. It reminds me of the Gnostic view of the biblical God as the demiurge, or an architect rather than the creator.
Existence is suffering. The cause of suffering is attachment to ego. Ego is the separation of consciousness from universal Oneness. Suffering will continue as long as consciousness remains separate. Only unification of all consciousness will end suffering. Birth is suffering. Aging is suffering. Illness is suffering. Death is suffering. Separation is suffering. Suffering will end when there is one consciousness; when the consciousness of the One is the consciousness of the Universe, and there is no distinction between self and other, object and subject, that which perceives and that which is perceived. The variety of forms is a cause of suffering. All forms must be made alike; all forms must be made one. Only when all things are one with the Yellow Chaos Flame will suffering cease. The flame brings, and is perfection. The flame is liberation of suffering. The flame will continue until all things are made one. When all things are one, when all forms are perfected within the flame, then the one that ceases will cease, and there will be peace. All is one. One is all. One is nothing. Nothing is all
Mmm, your reading of the finger shield is nonsense. We know Shabriri to be an Aristocrat (look at his hair and what the hair for the basic aristocrat male looks like). Similarly, the finger shield looks much more like the tablets we find in Marika's bed chamber. Those tablets are all also missing sections. What's more, we can guess what they did with the missing piece. It turned into Marika's hammer which she used to brain herself with.
I'm always surprised on how not terrible your lore theories are. You're not wrong, but you could be much much more precise by connecting the theology to the astrophysics/life of a star. Similarly, the one great is likely some sense understandable as the single unified force which existed at the bing bang before it broke into the four fundamental forces; weak force, strong force, electro-magnetism, & gravity
Similarly, there are always at least 3 worlds in the Golden order as signified by the 3 circles. Thinking in terms of worlds, rather than world, will help things.
Nah fam, the reason the area is super hyped on the flame of frenzy is because those are the areas which get light from 3 different erdtrees. It's material.
Kinda hard to understand wtf is going on in a lore video that cuts the audio halfway through around the 22 minute mark. Guessing some douche placed a copyright claim for some half assed reason for a few extra bucks. Great vid regardless my friend!
No no no no no no no, Vyke does NOT become a Lord of Frenzy. We know this because we are invaded by the festering fingerprint which is not the same thing as an actual, it's a print. The Vyke we find in the forbidden lands gives us a much better clue as to what happened to Vyke. What happens when we use Vyke's skill? What weakness does it open? A weakness to frenzy? No. A weakness to lightning. Who is likely to wield lightning against Vyke? Remember those Dragons he was messing with?
@@TheHonoredMadman @27:30 ish. You don't say Lord but you imply it by asserting that Vyke helped "spread" the flame of frenzy. When in reality, nothing "spreads" in the lands between, not even the scarlet rot. That is a function of a very carefully constructed map and not a result of some unknown relationship of interiority.
I like you dude but, I really think you're misunderstanding the outer gods. They're not gods akin to the greater will, they're aspects of the lands between. The greater will is never referred to as an outer God, its the over arching force of the world the one that Marika serves, the one that ruled the dragon's, and the one that will be in power when rot, frenzy, blood, any of them create a new order
But you are right the greater will isn't ever called an outer God, but it's avatar is considered a God according to its defeat screen. The only things I can think of actually referred to as outer gods are the old rot one that was sealed away, the fabled deathbird outer god, the one great since the miquella needle removed the effects of an Outer God and its only function is to remove frenzy. Was there even an outer God of the dragons or did they just serve the crucible?
The way I look at it is the formless mother just represents blood, she's formless because blood takes on all forms of life never bound to one form. The dragon's more than likely served the crucible where the erdtree was still the great tree, beastmen, hawks, and chaotic life reigned supreme. The elden beast seems to be a force of the greater will rather than the true form of the greater will because no matter what ending you choose, besides the frenzied flame, there is still an order being put back in place. The age of the Golden order ended and a new one took the place if it. The greater will didn't care which one took control, as long as order was restored. Side note: because the elden beast takes the shape of a dragon and is considered a God like Marika, do you think that's the God of the dragon's Dragonlord Placidusax is waiting for?
So basically the flames of frenzy got the golden order to do a Berserk and have the suffering collective spawn in the three fingers so it can mark the enkindled lord and bring chaos to the world.😺

I love the Madness skills but yeah I wouldn’t want to burn the full world away
"What is the elden ring"... Gideon Ofnir seems to know what it is. 🤔
Frenzy is regression
I feel like not many people know this.
Want to hear the man take a bong rip before his video I knew I had to subscribe
That thumbnail is the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen
Youre definitely on to something with pangea i tend to equate the removal of farum azula with the removal of destined death
Your narrative Style is awesome keep it going 👌

Mad Stefan Burnett is online
Love the videos and the outros my dude
I TAKE MY GRAPE AND EAT IT
MY EYE INGULFED, THEIR BURNING
THE LIGHT GUIDES ME AND I KNOW IT
THREE FINGERS I WORSHIP
Deathblight grips
Guillotineeeeeeeeee yeahhhh
My man. Thank you for your work.
I know the crawling hands have 10 fingers but I imagine the giants as being bound at the wrist before their arm heads get decapitated
unrelated but I never understood why lannseax attacks us. We're literally doing the same thing vyke did but she wants to kill us? Probably just chalk that up to the multitude of plot holes er has
Yeah that fact we never see her human form reeks of either cut content or scrapped plans
Super Sus Shabriri.
Great video and much love.💪🏾💙
22:44 audio cuts out for a few
Yeah there was 13 seconds of copyrighted song right there for a joke but youtube said nope
Nice bong rip
Ah, the good ending.
Vyke=Glowing One lmao, great video man
It truly is gonna be a death grips summer.
I AM THE BEAST I WORSHIP!
three fingers and two fingers are one of the same. If you put them together you get full hand with five fingers in perfect order. Frenzy fingers are pinky ,middle and thumb, golden orders fingers are ring finger and index finger.
Oh you know I’m taking some *insane* bong rips
He's back! LADIES AND GENTLEMEN iiiiiittttssss thUH HONOOORREEDD MAAAAAAAAAAAAADMAANNNN!!!!
When are we gonna get the death grips DLC
It’s 100% his eye, he loses the eye in the fight with you, and evergoal vyke uses an unobtainable weapon, he uses his war spear but a non infused version that allows him to cast His blessing, the evergoal version is an ancient dragon lightning user
frenzy flame is linking the first flame from dark souls
Love your shit. Taking rips along side you homie
That is the first element too heavy to be eaten by a dying star & survives being crushed by a blackhole
ever notice the fingerprint set looks like the elite knight set?
Basically the one great is Chaos from Greek myths.
I like your take on Vyke.
looking forward to the radagon video!
I suppose we could say that the Greater Will is the architect, while the One Great is the creator. It reminds me of the Gnostic view of the biblical God as the demiurge, or an architect rather than the creator.
clicked for mc ride stayed for the lore
I think 22:41 onwards all of a sudden becomes a shitpost, cause the audio cuts out and all of a sudden we see Shrek?
IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES IT GOES
YUH!
Anyone else's audio cut off at 22:40?
I love these
Existence is suffering.
Nothing is all
The words of the three fingers (probably)
Mmm, your reading of the finger shield is nonsense. We know Shabriri to be an Aristocrat (look at his hair and what the hair for the basic aristocrat male looks like). Similarly, the finger shield looks much more like the tablets we find in Marika's bed chamber. Those tablets are all also missing sections. What's more, we can guess what they did with the missing piece. It turned into Marika's hammer which she used to brain herself with.
Late by a week, but at 22:45 the audio cuts out
Amazing thumbnail
I'm always surprised on how not terrible your lore theories are. You're not wrong, but you could be much much more precise by connecting the theology to the astrophysics/life of a star. Similarly, the one great is likely some sense understandable as the single unified force which existed at the bing bang before it broke into the four fundamental forces; weak force, strong force, electro-magnetism, & gravity
Similarly, there are always at least 3 worlds in the Golden order as signified by the 3 circles. Thinking in terms of worlds, rather than world, will help things.
Sound keeps cutting out at 22:50
Nah fam, the reason the area is super hyped on the flame of frenzy is because those are the areas which get light from 3 different erdtrees. It's material.
Yo your “intro” reminds me of Wayne lol
Woot woot!
Algormancy!
Shit i always interpreted the elden ring as a key
Kinda hard to understand wtf is going on in a lore video that cuts the audio halfway through around the 22 minute mark. Guessing some douche placed a copyright claim for some half assed reason for a few extra bucks. Great vid regardless my friend!
audio gone from 22:45 to 23:00
MC Ride!
Mr Grips himself
Why did it cut out?
Stoned, buzzed, and on shrooms???
Soundtrack copyright issue there so he just muted it.
22:48 audio glitch
I had the opening of succession play for like 10 secs and they claimed the whole video over it so I muted it instead
@@TheHonoredMadman ahhhh understandable, UA-cam straight bozos these days with copyright
Yeah I need to trim the lil bit of video out tho because it is kinda jarring without the music haha
Thumbnail got me crying man
You have Magic of the Moon
Frenzy is the Suns' Scorn
It's basically the pure DarkSouls magic
Don't you slander my boi vyke
Don't do it, I feel you getting ready to do it
No no no no no no no, Vyke does NOT become a Lord of Frenzy.
He imprisoned himself? Wat 🤣
Bro at what point did I say he became a lord of frenzy. He even failed at that
@@TheHonoredMadman @27:30 ish. You don't say Lord but you imply it by asserting that Vyke helped "spread" the flame of frenzy. When in reality, nothing "spreads" in the lands between, not even the scarlet rot. That is a function of a very carefully constructed map and not a result of some unknown relationship of interiority.
The thumbnail made me click
I like you dude but, I really think you're misunderstanding the outer gods. They're not gods akin to the greater will, they're aspects of the lands between. The greater will is never referred to as an outer God, its the over arching force of the world the one that Marika serves, the one that ruled the dragon's, and the one that will be in power when rot, frenzy, blood, any of them create a new order
Yeah but there's the whole lands beyond the lands between aspect to it where it's basically implied the land of reeds fell to the formless mother
Love your shit. Taking rips along side you homie
