Such an amazing masterpiece of a video. The moon shots were amazing, the orcas were incredible. Seeing the smiles on your faces shined with the satisfaction and enjoyment of your amazing achievements. The video production was truly inspiring and professional. Truly a gift you have given us this week to enjoy. Thank you for the effort put into sharing your life’s journey with us. We are blessed and grateful for your efforts. Like I've said before, this CHANNEL IS ONE OF THE BEST ON UA-cam,THANK YOU BOTH..FOR SHARING YOUR DREAMS,JOURNEY AND THE POSSIBILITIES OF WHAT'S NEXT ...TAKE CARE YOU TWO AS WELL ALL THE VIEWERS..
Thank you for everything you do. Your love of life, your kindness, your joy of experience and exploration has been such a balm to my soul in this time in the states. Being disabled in middle age and in middle America I can’t tell you how wonderful it is to experience your adventures, your ups, your downs, and to , in a small way , be with you both as your dream’s are finally achieved . Thank you, just thank you both so much.
Every ounce of sweat, every broken finger nail, every tear and tantrum..... Has brought you to moments of Pure Delight like this Maya.... And this is just the start...... Many more to come...... Lots of love and best wishes to you both...... :-)) xx
In the four decades that I spent sailing the Gulf and San Juan islands I have so many magical experiences like you shared in this video. There were full moons rising over picture perfect anchorages, watching seals streak through the bioluminescence at night, and encounters with all manner of otters, dolphins, seals, and orcas. I was lucky enough to see orcas on every trip. On one trip through Trincomali channel there were four pods transiting the channel. We had been motoring as there wasn’t any wind, but shut off the motor as soon as we spotted the first pod. They were heading north and we just sat there in awe of these magnificent creatures as they loped by, their backs arching and tails sliding beneath the surface. We could easily hear their breathing and see the spray of each exhalation. They passed right by us within 15 meters of the boat. I hope that you get to experience many more wonderful encounters with orcas and the incredible wildlife that inhabit BC waters. Thanks for sharing your magical moments.
Absolutely great ! That look on Maya's face at 20:22 said it all !!! Just let it do its thing !! You guys really achieved something. Fair winds to all of you.
I can’t believe I’ve watched your videos for so many years. I believe it was just after you bought MCII. I was so anxious when you took the summer off and went home to sail MCI. But I soon found out how great those videos were. Your editing is amazing! But to see Aladino out on the sailboat after 2 years !!! You are making me feel old!!! Time flies too fast. You look so at home on MCII. The cozy living quarters on a rainy day. I miss those and so jealous of your life in front of you. Enjoy. Loved loved loved the moon shots. Amazing.
Harry here in Toronto - Good Morning!! It's Saturday November 23rd. I couldn't watch your feed yesterday so decided to savour the morning by watching "Testing Our New Boat" today. Wow! I got 7:35 minutes in, and just had to break to congratulate you both! So exciting, so wonderful to see you both together with Magic Carpet at sea. You are two amazing people, and your adventure has brought joy and inspiration to me. Add to that, you're on Canada's west coast, where I spent some years working as a commercial fisherman - at sea myself for 28 days, then on shore for three day, followed by another 28 days at sea in a cycle that lasted from April to September. Your two spirits and hard work have deeply enriched my life. Thank you and happy sailing!
from a viewers point, the 4 years of hard work melts away, in just 5 minutes of seeing Magic Carpet ll sailing along out on the ocean....I doubt it will be that fast for you.....fantastic quality work. You two were right to get MCll out before the final touches, this winter will be full of energy to get the project completed...cheers
Its fabulous to see you are now enjoying the fruits of your labour over the last few year. You both look so relaxed and the boat looks fantastic. Great opportunity with the photo shoot as well. Those moments don't happen very often and you need to make the most of them.
We are all thrill, Maya you are truly a joy to behold, wrapped in your MAGICAL atmosphere only with the knowledge of cinematography and literary expertise at your fingertips. We are so HAPPY for you both and only wish this MAGICAL tour to continue. Thank you both so much. Simply outstanding!
In this crazy world, capturing and sharing the beauty of simple things, of effort and attachment to the magic of Life, is a generous and revolutionary act. Thank you both.❤🎉
I’m so ready to watch y’all circumnavigation the globe with Magic Carpet II ! Boat work is fine, but seeing y’all out on the water 💦 is ‘Magical’ !! 🧜♀️🪄🦄
Wonderful to see you both back on the water. The boat looks beautiful. New adventures begin - What a fantastic place to start. Seeing all that forested coastline with trees coming down to the shore makes me realise how much woodland and natural beauty we have lost here in the UK
This is perfect. It’s been so much harder than I could have imagined. Like Maya, I felt despair at times but oh how all,of it is worth it. Mayas voice is full of,the kinda of joy we’ve missed. I love this new boat, your choice was always perfect, just didn’t know how much work was needed. Now all adventures in front of us. Congratulations.
Just spectacular..!!! Please make a mini movie with that footage of Aladino in the dinghy..!! Stunning episode. I love Barry's quote - there is natural beauty all around you, you just have to be out there.
My first time commenting, I love the channel & the adventures, I think a perfect caption for the moon scene would be " When the sea calls" " You need a Magic Carpet" you have an amazing ship and keep reaching for the Horizon Its always true.
Magic Carpet looks amazing underway! You can tell a good design from her wake. You both chose a great design, and, created a real Gold Plater!!! It’s also great seeing you both enjoy her and the places she takes you!!!
I love to see you sailing again - it has been an different experience to see you working in the boat, and it exceeds my expectations. I wish you following winds and always water under the keel!
... and the oscar goes to... MAYAAAAA T. Child is really a beauty too, and so is her crew. So glad that you are having such a good time after all of the burden! Thanks for sharing
Yes I’m crying I to have never seen an orka whale before and your excitement was overwhelming. Thank you thank you thank you. Breathe taking and amazing the yacht is beautiful
So happy to see you don't have roller fooling. Now you have flexibility in choice of headsails easily and will always be checking the sails each time they are down instead of rolling the UV damage in and waiting for the surprise failure. Great work. Respect.
Of all the things I have seen in the past 4 years of videos. The shots of Aladino in the dinghy he built, is the best!! You did a great job of capturing them Maya!!!
Oh so good to see you out on the water at last. After all the hard work over the last few years you deserve it, you really do. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your travels. Best Wishes ... Dave
Wow! We're feeling more joy for you being back on the water. This video exemplifies what we love about your creations--the artistry and creativity woven into the storytelling. Once again, well done. Well done! Namaste. 🙏
the segment with the moon, Aladino standing in the dinghy with the light...probably the most awe inspiring minute of film I've experienced in a long time.- teared up actually...!! You're both pretty special, as is your boat☺
I feel like, in some small way, we’ve lived the blood, sweat, and tears with you. It’s the biggest joy to see SMC2 back on the water. Incredible photo shoot!! I bet you’d raise a lot on prints of the dingy against the moon!! So beautiful and peaceful!!
A beautiful couple on a beautiful boat at anchor catching a snuggle at the stern……..impossible to imagine any experience more filled with love and peace. May this be the first of many!
Hello Aladdin and Maia Magic Carpet 2 ended up being completely stunning Beautiful to see, I love the classic lines from other times The images of that magical moonlight are worthy of making a poet cry. I love your channel where I eagerly wait for the next video every Friday. All the best and be happy 💖 Paulo Ramos
Maya I cannot tell what pleasure it gives me to see you happy and sailing. It makes such a difference from the dark days all those months ago. You will not remember, but I suggested at the time that you get the boat floating and go sailing, even it is unfinished. I hit a similalr wall when fitting out my own 45ft boat and for months we used her without an operating water system and a chemical toilet. I suggested at the time that you did not need a full sety of sails, merely a jury rig the get the boat moving. I know that ordinary subscibers are weeks if not months behind, but I hope you enjoyed your summer sailing and planned the additional work to be tackled, (in a better frame of mind perhaps) over the winter. Those moon shots were terrific, we all look forward to the stories that you put together, I remember the villages and towns you visited motoring through the canals af France and the tales you told us about them. I was following you before that of course starting in Canada and the boat with the single cylinder Sabb engine, on through the Mediteranean, the Netherlands and Sweden of course. One thing, are you keeping the name "Sailing Magic Carpet" when even you call her "Magic Carpet 2 (or Two even Too)? So glad to see you happy. My boating days are over at 83 years old and somewhat infirm, but I enjoy yours vicariously through UA-cam. May you be blessed with fair winds and tides in the future. Tony.
We are just about to splash Cariba here in Puerto Penasco Mexico after only a 4 1/2 month refit... can't imagine how exciting it must be for you after 4 yrs! You are making me miss our home waters too.. love Montague! Fair winds!
I wish I could show you guys what I'm seeing right now? You are doing a great job, thanks for sharing. The full moon bit blew me away, you managed to capture the moment in a way that could not have been done better. I have been in awe many times in my sailing life, this is a perfect visualiation. Thanks again, you've made my day :)
Lived in Seattle 8 years with a boat on Lake Union we frequently take into the sound and I go to San Juan frequently and still have never seen an Orca. So such a great sighting! But the beauty of this area never ceases to amaze me. Congrats on getting Magic Carpet back in the water. I hope all the tireless work and sometimes tears have been worth it.
After the long and arduous hours both of you have endured in creating this magnificent boat it gives me joy as watch you on your adventures to come. Congrats to both of you on the first sail. By the way the photography and background music are superb. Cheers!!
Great to see you out in the islands. Writing this in November as a bomb cyclone sequence is moving through the San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands. Thankfully, Iron Wind is snug in her slip in Friday Harbor. Hope to see you in Desolation Sound or the Broughtons next summer. Sail on, and on, and on....
The look on you guy’s faces is just so happy. A taste of what all the work was about. I can’t remember which harbor but a van ride to a different eatery on Vancouver Island was a treat. Oh yes when you guys were in school. Grin.
Them shots of the moon and dingy are just unbelievable majestic 🙏
“The sailing dingy that Aladino built several years ago” That’s kinda frightening , come on time , slow down 😃🤣🍻
Right?? My first thought was ‘did’t they air that episode a few months ago?’
Exactly my thoughts.
You must have the most beautiful Cape George in the world! And it was worth the blood, sweat and tears. Enjoy!
I have never seen such a setting with boat and moon. Quite magical. Many thanks

Absolute magic! The only way to describe this episode. All the work, sweat, tears and joys have resulted in this. Congratulations!
Thank you for everything you do. Your love of life, your kindness, your joy of experience and exploration has been such a balm to my soul in this time in the states.

This was such a magical episode ! Magic Carpet and Thunder Child sailing together was the cherry on top .
Every ounce of sweat, every broken finger nail, every tear and tantrum..... Has brought you to moments of Pure Delight like this Maya.... And this is just the start...... Many more to come...... Lots of love and best wishes to you both...... :-)) xx
Extra-LIKE-ing this segment 13:41 - the variety of vessels and sail plans. 18:29 - orcas! And a PUB BUS!
The moon shots are those moments in time that you will remember the rest of your lives, wind water and nature this is why we sail. Perfection.
Your cinematography is just incredible, AI and Disney are just nothing in comparison! What incredible pictures - wouh!
Hard to believe your dinghy is 2 years old already. I’m so glad you went outside and saw the moonrise, a magical moment on our beautiful planet.
SO HAPPY to see you getting to enjoy what you've worked SO HARD for! Well deserved reward! E N J O Y every moment!!

Love the jazz! 78 years old and grew up listening to big band and blues. You Gus rock!
Was that Diana Krall singing ...?
Your new boat, the moon, the orka’s. Grateful for all that life can offer…

The rain line at anchor was so beautiful, then those moon scapes happened and it was something special..
As photographer for 40+ years very impressed with your vision.

I'm so happy for you guys to FINALLY get some sea time again! The boat is simply awesome, has to be one of the finest Cape George's built.

The magic of magic carpet two has impressed me! Thanks!
Great to see you out in the islands. Writing this in November as a bomb cyclone sequence is moving through the San Juan Islands and Gulf Islands. this shots with the dingy, incredible - great
The look on you guy’s faces is just so happy. A taste of what all the work was about. I can’t remember which harbor but a van ride to a different eatery on Vancouver Island was a treat. Oh yes when you guys were in school. Grin.
