Possibly, but I wouldn't suggest buying it. John uses one from the 80s, not to mention he has 6 cabs. I have one of the modern ones and it is fine by itself, but it gets lost in the mix, if you play with a band. If you're gonna pick one up, make sure to grab an equalizer, too.
Am i the only one who cant stand to watch RHCP live without John in the band, its as if they cut off their right arm, you can have RHCP without John Frusciante it just dont work.

most probably it's to signal he wants his vocals louder in his monitor mix (so he can hear himself)
