hi! thank you for reacting to LUCY! so yeah, about the live thing. It is live, but they also use MR as layering for other instruments that they cannot play live (since they only have 4 members. but they usually have sessionist too for big concerts on keyboard and guitar) and ambience, like the alarm sound, the train sound, echo, etc.
and yeah, welcome to kband world, man! it's a whole new world of amazing musician for you to check out and LUCY is just one of them!
as a brief background, LUCY is a 4 members korean band, est. in 2019 but only officially released a song in 2020. TMI about their activites before LUCY: the violinist was a popular busker, the vocalist was also a busker and a BGM producer for dramas, the bassist is THE bassist in korea and a producer for other kpop groups, and the drummer was actually not a drummer, and was a singer/song-writter trainee at their current company. so yeah, it's no wonder they have high musicallity and is /very/ particullar about their music. they're known for their cheery image and making music about growing up, adulthood, and life in general.
i hope you can react to more of LUCY!

LUCY!! welcome to kband world, i guess! bands in korea mostly underground or indie, Lucy is only the tip of an iceberg. you're welcome to explore more. Lucy main genre is ambience pop, which is exploring more about creating a sense of space with their music, so a lot of their music sounds like osts that have stories or when you can imagine a scene. they use a lot of like recording water sounds, train noises, alarm, knocking sound etc and put it as a part of their music. i'm into Nerd Connection & Silica Gel nowadays. both are more alternative rock type of sound, where Silica Gel is more experimental & synth-heavy. hope you can check out more

i came here coz you reacted to lucy but i see that y'all are trying to discover kpop songs. i'm just saying, getting into kpop via lucy (or any other kbands on that matter) probably is not the best way tbh. when people says kpop, it's usually refering to the idol culture, and lucy..... even their korean fans are still debating whether they're indie or not. they dont have any training phase, they came from a professional musician background (which most kpop idols don't), and complete creative freedom on their concepts & musics (which again, most kpop idols dont have that), even their gigs are mostly leaning towards the indie/band market. soo... yeah, do what you will with that information.
glad you like lucy tho! their music is more jpop-influenced tbh

Yeah, you've done it. The instrumental passage was lovely. The rest of it isn't particularly to my taste, but I definitely respect it.
I've got to admit that the moment I saw actual musical instruments in the thumbnail, I thought "that's a good sign"!

Yeah this is a nice song, but it brings up the question,, how do you actually define “pop” ? Personally I’ve got no idea, but is one person’s pop, another’s high art ? Then can the same definition of pop be used with all pop, I’m thinking K-pop, J-pop, Brit-pop, and just what is it called in other countries, surely there’s a US-Pop ? Maybe? Then you should have an Ice-pop , no that’s already a thing. 😊

Yep, agreed, that's good. Let's let the K-POP fans claim them. They're not exactly typical, but the lines and singing certainly feel K-POP ish. So we'll not do the "no true Scottsman" argument here and claim that it's not K-POP just so we can say all K-POP is bad. It's not all bad... but like American pop, good is just rare, because you don't have to be good to be successful in that arena. That doesn't mean exceptions don't exist.
Rock on Mark, and congrats on sticking through it until you found one!
Now maybe we can move on? ;)

I think this probably doesn't count as Kpop, but I'm kinda hardline; if at least two members are playing a real instrument, it probably can't be Kpop, it has to just be real music.

Nah I disagree, I reckon pop music you can play your own instruments. Look at McFly!

I'm glad you liked this song, but you've once again missed the point.
You didn't say anything about their outfits, or that crazy kick and turn choreography that the violinist and bassist were doing. Practically unwatchable reaction.
Incidentally, I'm kind of sad that you cut your mic audio out of the edit. In the Twitch stream, at 4:00 in this video, your vape hit was timed perfectly and actually sounded like it was part of the track, and I felt was a nice flourish.

@@markabusireactions 6:40 Check out those moves. Dance is an artistic expression inseparable from LUCY, a gesture joined to the spoken word, a simple interface with the audience, an involvement, a dialogue. LUCY loves its audience and shows it.
