    Thank you so much for this pattern. My Aunt had a mastectomy and chose not to have reconstructive surgery, now I can knit some knockers for her. She's excited for them and I'm so happy to be able to knit them for her. Thank you so much!

    I just discovered Knitted Knockers. I love making things but am fed up of making things neither I nor any one else needs. I thought I'd watch first then make later. Just as well as I am in stitches at your banter, if I had been knitting I wouldn't have been able to see at all now!
    Such a wonderful idea. Thank you ladies 💜

    After a bazillion tries at the regular DPN pattern, I tried the magic loop pattern several times, but kept flipping stitches. With this new "Bottoms Up" pattern, I finally made a beautiful size C at the correct gauge in the first try. WooHoo! Wish I could attach a picture....maybe on Ravelry. Thanks for sharing with the world. When I get really good, I will either send some to you, or find a place locally that accepts them. You Rock!

    Thank-You for this pattern! I had trouble starting the knitted knockers so I was crocheting them only cause I am more comfortable crocheting. The problem is I always like the way the knitted ones looked..I have not registered yet cause I never thought my knockers looked nice enough. But my crocheted ones were very appreciated by my friends that as I gave them too.I have had breast cancer twice. Both times I had Surgery that left me with part of my breast removed but I still have some breasts. All that to say my thoughts always go to the idea if my cancer comes back I can NOT have any more chemo. SO Someday I might need a pair. But for now I make them and give them to whom ever I know needs them. The more I make hopefully with this pattern I will like what I make and I will send you some. Keep up all your hard work. I love this video.It is the best one to follow as well as easy to do. :) You ladies are truly a blessing.Thank-You Brenda

    Thank you for the new pattern. I had been struggleing with the very start when you have so few stitches on the needle that I wanted to pack up the half finished knocker and unused yarn and send it all back to you. My husband said"why do you punish yourself". I said "I am not going to let this take the best of me" So I decided to watch the tutorial again and found the new pattern. So I will try again with enthusiasm.

    I love this new way. I"ve been using the previous pattern, and always had a counter on hand to make sure I was on the right row. But this way I won't have to think to much about what row I'm on. Can't wait to try this new pattern. When I use short needles I put end pointers on to prevent the yarn from falling off.

  • @bethklinger2547
    @bethklinger2547 7 років тому +2

    I also use needle tip protectors to help keep the stitches on the needles especially when I get to the 2 purl rows. Works great. You have to move the protectors to the bottom of the needles when you turn but I haven't dropped a stitch since.

      Thanks for your comments. You will notice that the last step for making your knocker you weave the tail of yarn around the hole which will allow you to cinch up the hole :-). Thanks for making knockers!

      i have to disagree with Rachel. The banter confused me and I wish you had left it out and just given straight-forward instructions without making the mistakes. I make enough of those myself! I have made several crocheted knockers and was told that the knitting knockers were much easier, but I'm not experienced with knitting in the round with double pointed needles. I do, however, want to say that I am very grateful for the free knocker that arrived at my home 2 weeks after my single mastectomy. I sent a cash donation, but wanted to keep giving back by crocheting, or knitting knockers.

    I am so grateful to find this vlog site. :) Found the website from one of the Amazon customer. I have a double mastectomy this May of 2020 and did shopping for silicone breast form prosthesis. Ordered a pair from Amazon but they are heavy! The light cotton form are so expensive too. $30+ a piece and the reviews are bad. Thank Jah and I've read one reviewer's comment. She shared the knittedknockers website and I went. Can't believe they give this for free! Thank you so very much! I have ordered a pair today. Can't wait to receive my very own knitknockers. I just want to know, where can I purchase knitknockers if ever I decided to have another color(s) and how much do they cost? I live in Michigan. I am not a knitter but trying to learn because I want to someday be able to make and donate them too just like the many generous knitters out there. Once again, thank you knittedknockers for helping many women who have undergone mastectomy like me. Losing my breasts is like a nightmare and still is... every time I look at the mirror. The pain (physical, mental, emotional, financial... etc) that caused by it is so overwhelming. But I believe, I can have my head up again and feel confident about my self again just like the rest of the many strong women out there that went through mastectomy.

    I've made at least a dozen knitted knockers using the old pattern of casting on 3 stitches, and it IS very fiddly, so this looks intriguing. However, my printed pattern (specifically Rounds 1 and 2) is opposite of what your pattern shows at the 17:28 mark. On the video, Round 1 says to kfb, knit to last stitch, kfb of each needle. Round 2 says to knit to last stitch and kfb of each needle. My printed pattern has those two rounds reversed. Not sure if that will make a difference, and it seems no one else has mentioned it! Do tell!

    Hi, this will be my first time making these and I'm so happy to have found the group. I've learned magic loop as my only circular method (taught myself online after a lifetime of only straight needles). The Magic Loop pattern I downloaded is the start with 3. Is there a video using the Magic Loop method with this new bottom up DPN pattern? Or would I just put 7 stitches on one needle and 8 on the other and would it matter whether on the front or back needle? I'm hoping for a video but I know you may not have one for that. You're about the busiest people I know! Thanks so much :D!

    • @KnittedKnockers
      @KnittedKnockers  6 років тому

      Sorry we don't have a video for the Magic Loop pattern. You would need to put markers with the magic loop whichever pattern you choose to identify the 3 sections.

    • @melvinbeli1
      @melvinbeli1 6 років тому

      Knitted Knockers Thanks. I'll give it a try to see how I manage after moving more of the back needles great stitches after our"grows". Then the other half of the middle section will be on the back needles and first half of that section on the front. I can't remember if it was suggested somewhere on the one home page with magic loop worm pattern to do that. I really appreciate your help! Thanks again!

  • @abigailkasinger2243

    Okay, but what cast on did you use? I did a knit cast on and the hole is too small to easily adjust the stuffing and it puckers when I try to cinch it up. Clearly this was the wrong cast on. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • @barbarafromknittedknockers
      @barbarafromknittedknockers 3 роки тому

      We cast on using the long tail cast on method and cast on very loosely. There is no need to cinch up as the stuffing won't come out when worn but definitely need a big enough hole to stuff them. Thanks for making knockers.

    How odd! I am starting to knit a knocker for myself (had double mastectomy last Friday) so, I downloaded the pattern but also ~ as I am a visual ~ follow you on your video... but... your pattern and the one I downloaded are different in the sense that what you are doing is kfb the first stitch as MY down pattern says knit to the last stitch and the knb the last stitch. Maybe I am not landed yet from the surgery but... will it look the same? I presume but just would like to know why they are different...
