Sizing Knitted Knockers is a bit of an art. This tutorial gives you tips on how to size knockers for distribution. If sending to knittedknockers.org for distribution they will size for you. If in doubt call or email the recipient and ask them to measure the diameter of their bra, subtract ½ " and knit or crochet to that stuffed size on the pattern. If using sister sizing we recommend not adjusting more than one cup size in either direction.

Bosom Buddies of the QC, Moline, IL uses this chart guide, which takes into account the variations of knitting tension. You KNOW while you're knitting what your size will be, so there is less guess work.
Measuring guide chart for the knitted prostheses to compensate for
differences in yarn, needle size, and knitting tension:
Sizes Mark with # stitches: CM INCHES: YOUR # stitches
A PINK 17 8 cm 3 1/8
B GREY 20 9 cm 3 1/2
C RED 25 11 cm 4 1/4
D GOLD 30 13 cm 5 1/8
DD GREEN 35 16 cm 6 1/4
DDD BLUE 40 18 cm 7 1/8
DDDD WHITE 45 19 cm 7 1/2
DDDDD ORANGE 50 20 cm 7 7/8
These measurements are on the last needle before the purl row.
Spread,but don't pull, the stitches apart across the needle to measure.
It is recommended that you always make 4 alike to make it easier to fit a double mastectomy recipient or two single, so the recipient can have
one to wear and one to swim or wash. Tie them together 2 + 2 with the cast-on end.
The fill hole in back should be left open until the final fitting for the recipient.
“Mark with” is a bit of colored yarn to help when sorting the different sizes of prostheses. Bosom Buddies of the QC uses this system. Ask if your group does.
Hint: if you have trouble keeping the stitches on the needles when knitting large sizes, a rubber band in a figure 8 on the two non-working needles will fix the problem for free.

Very recently my sister had to have complete mastectomy and she told me about knitting "new breasts" ;-), and now I get started. I am a crocheter as well as a knitter and I´ll try both versions, see what works best for her. Thanks again, with lots of love from Germany

Thanks for the video! I am wondering if you are working on adding to the approved yarn list. For me the cost of shipping to get approved yarns is a concern. Also, how can I get a copy of the older yarn list? I have a yarn stash that I would love to reduce!
