Can't believe that 11 years ago, the sound and this video are still pure awesome and never looks so old!!!
His phrasing AND choice of notes are so much better than so many famous shredders out there. So many guitar players tend to forget that which notes you play is far more important that how many notes your playing or how difficult whatever your playing is!
Example, Yngwie lol. It’s all about being unique and Marco nails that, but it’s wild how he is rarely recognized, but his album that just came out, Ooglyworld, is fire
I lost the count of how many times I've watched this video..Sfogli's tone is just so beautifull and matches his style so perfectly.

Same here, man. So happy. I was watching a line 6 helix video and saw the name Marco sfogli and instantly thought of this video.
Marco Sfogli is the best guitar player I've ever heard. His compositions are incredable ... unique style.
Definitely one of the best, an incredible musician.

I remeber watching this because I wanted to know about the guitar back in the day. There was just a random italian guy I had never heard of playing guitar like he invented it. I came back like 4-5 years later and this still is one hell of a performance I enjoyed every second of it.

This guy is the epitomy of amazing guitar playing. You have the feeling that there is so much more under the hood that he doesn't show. He could be blazing fast but he chooses to talk instead of spew notes at hypersonic rates. He could, but he chooses not to. Awesome work.
It's funny how sometimes we remember people in connection with something - like a guitarist we see on youtube being always with guitar. I remember seeing Marco Sfogli on some guitar expo without guitar, walking around like regular guy wearing a hoodie - it took a while for me to look at him and wander where I know this face from :) Lovely song and sound!
I translated the bit at the start "hi guys, Marco here.......you got NO faking chance of playing this epic monster.....so sit back and relax, then take the dog for a walk"

DiMarzio, Mesa Boogie and Ibanez could not have a better advertisement for their quality. That Mark V combo sounds fucking lethal. Marco is a world class player and composer. Superb technique!!

Marco is not just a shredder, he's a true musician in every sense of the word! Just beautiful music, beautifully composed and executed! Now I want one of those guitars...all of mine don't seem to have any of those notes. 😄
Amzaing as always. Someone said that we can hear the influence of Andy James in Marco playing. I have to admit that i dont really think it's definitely Andy's influence. I believe, that we hearing huge influence of Andy Timmons. :))

I've watching this so many times before it came out I can almost hear Marco speaking about the RG now when I listen to it from the album
Before I met Sfogli, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, those were my guitar gods. However, Now, I can pretty much sure that Sfogli could smoke them in terms of playing skills and sense of creativity. Those legendary guitarists are great, but at the same time, If Sfogli had been born at the time of 80s, He would definitely been the hero of the guitar instrumental scene.
Marco wouldn't be marco without Satriani, Malmsteen and Vai having been there before. Just like Satriani and so many others wouldn't be who they are without eddie van halen paving the way. And the guys who started this in rock were Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Clapton and Page and Maybe Blackmore.
everyday we hear new guitarist emerge , every guitar hero always adore another guitar hero before themselves.

I am not against the fact that Sfogli is affected by other guitarists. Again, Sfogli has influenced by lots of guitarists (e.g. Andy Timmons, Petrucci). But still, there are tons of guitarists that are not even close to Sfogli. I am telling you that the level of his play in this generation is equal to those so called guitar heros. That's what I am saying.

I could listen to this guy for days and not get tired. U can tell his influences, yet he has his own "voice." great phrasing and some really neat use of quarter note triplets in his phrasing to prevent monotony.

Marco is quickly becoming one of my favorite guitarists. Those Ibanez RGs are awesome. I have a 1990 RG570 with an Air Norton and Steve's Special that rocks. I also have an RG1XXV which is also a beast, but I'd take the 570 anyday due to the MIJ label.
