Jiefangbei CBD Info:
Jiefangbei CBD, also known as Jiefangbei Shangye Buxingjie (重庆解放碑步行街), is the ultra-dense, urbanized downtown and central business district in the city of Chongqing, China, that is centred on a large pedestrian mall with a landmark monument tower (Jiefangbei) surrounded by collections of tall skyscrapers.
The area surrounding the Jiefangbei monument tower makes up the main central business district of the Yuzhong District of Chongqing city and is the most prominent CBD in the interior west of China. Thousands of shops, bars, and restaurants are located in Jiefangbei CBD including numerous large international department stores, upscale designer boutiques, local street food stalls, movie theatres, bars, and dance clubs; all clustered in pedestrian only streets surrounding the Jiefangbei monument and pedestrian square.
The Jiefangbei pedestrian square itself is lined with numerous giant mega-shopping malls with jumbo-tron LED screens and illuminated advertising billboards along with the city's tallest commercial skyscrapers, world class international hotels, and luxurious residential accommodations. According to Women's Wear Daily, in 2013, Jiefangbei Square was popular with "young, stylish people to meet and shop at stores like Cartier, Ermenegildo Zegna, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Rolex

Beautiful, clean, organized, well dressed, highly developed society. Never imagined China like this. But after seeing all this countless walkthrough videos on UA-cam from yours as well as other UA-camrs I can confirm that. Yeah. I been regularly visiting their cities since 5 years ago and everytime I go back something new is being built and many more developments are completed. It's like a new cityscape every few years
@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV It would be awesome if you could create a walkthrough video during snowfall in cities like Harbin or Beijing. I have searched the whole UA-cam but no one has posted such a video in such a scenario. Please take this as a recommendation.
@@shanghai_city Hi Ali. Will remember if I am ever in those cities. During winter, the temperature can go below zero degrees which may disrupt the filming (less power from the batteries due to cold). I will try though

@@vikasr7883 I wonder how Chongqing was like in the past. Of the many cities in China, I really liked this city. I liked how "complicated" their buildings are. A "ground" level for one building could be level 3, for another it could be level 6. Fascinating
Funny thing is my parents own the big mall with gucci, its called golden eagle centre and my parents are the boss of it and so as 7 other malls in chong qing

@@DiscoveryWalkingToursTV well it was built a while back but last few years my parents got macdonalds and gucci to also be part of the mall and they added more shops and restaurants to make the mall more popular.

Come to think of it. I don't recall seeing such shops in Chongqing. That or I didn't know what to look out for during my stay in Chongqing 😁
There are a lot of them in Chongqing. They have whatever shops NYC has. You can find any kind of shops in any Tier 1, Tier 2 or even Tier 3 city in China nowadays. The video just caught a small part of jiefangbei CBD, which is just one of over 10 major CBDs in Chongqing.
Thanks for sharing Terry. I didn't realise Chongqing has over 10 CBDs. It's a extremely large city so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. Could you share with me a couple of the other CBDs in the city? Will keep a look out for them when I visit again =)
