I've seen some of your video and i'm pretty impressed with how the people maintain the cleanness of their area. I don't see many rubbish on the street. In most countries, although the street may appear somewhat clean, you can see a lot of trashes floating on the sewer or river (especially at these kind of places)..... Props to the people who make their places livable.
I wanted to thank the US funded organization for making this video, although the video producer is trying really hard to paint china in a bad light it's overall just very interesting

Streets are clean, most folk look OK and clothed well, and look reasonably well feed, these areas seem to have local cafes here and there, street food - bowls of noodles and veges are very very cheap so one appears hungry. It is not like that in any western city that I know of.
This really shows what most of the countryside in China is like. Because of China's push for urbanization, rural areas are getting smaller and their populations are shrinking every year. As the video shows, even in provinces with a high population density like Chongqing, there are very few people living in the countryside
Most of these buildings were built in the 1980s to 1990s, and some even earlier. Although lagging behind the newly developed urban areas, living in them is still very peaceful, and now the crime rate is very low, so most people have a smile on their faces.
Are you sure about that? They seem to be in a much more advanced state of degradation than we'd normally see in structures that are less than 50 years old. I'd guess they were built much earlier than in the 80's to 90's.
The district is congested and grubby yet it has a certain vibrancy, as if people accept their circumstances and are making the best of it. I wouldn't be adverse to exploring the tangle of alleyways and stairs with a guide.

I've been to slums in India and the Philippines and honestly, this is no "slum". Slums don't have paved roads and are usually littered with trash.

你应该知道中国的工业品都很便宜，1000元人民币就可以买到一台1.5匹功率的空调，安装费用在100-200之间，民用电费也很便宜，每度电，根据使用量在0.5-0.7元人民币之间

纠正博主一个错误，凡是中国的城市，在30多年前或者更早就每家每户都通了管道式天然气、自来水、电了。博主看到的这些拉瓦斯罐(我们叫煤气罐）的，一般用于重庆的临时改造的火锅店，因为每一张桌子都需要供气煮火锅，所以很多小店喜欢用这种瓦斯罐。如果用管道式天然气的话，需要重新改造，而改造需要时间和成本。
中国的城中村是这样的：以前都是农村，大多数都是农民自己修建的房屋，没有太多设计和规划。随着城市的快速发展，城市蔓延到了这些农村周围，被规划到的片区就会拆迁修宽阔的街道和高楼，没有被规划到的片区就成了街道和高楼的边缘区域，就形成了这种城中村。随着城市不断发展，政府会对这些城中村会进行拆迁。政府一般是通过补偿居民丰厚的货币及新建的高档住房的方式进行拆迁。被拆迁的居民的孩子被称为“拆二代”，代表因为旧房被拆迁而突然爆发式获得大量金钱的年轻人的意思。当然，政府拆迁也需要时间，进行规划，分区域进行，毕竟城市的空气质量和交通状况也是需要考虑的。

对于不了解中国的来说这是贫民窟，可实际上，在中国大家反而希望在这里有一套自己的房子，因为这些房子一旦被拆迁，这些房子的主人会从政府那里获得一笔非常庞大的赔偿款，如果房子地理位置好，得到的赔偿款足够一个人一辈子不需要工作（前提是不要毫无底线的购物）
