    I have A 200 W pulsed MOPA fiber laser. It eats rust quickly. Black paint no problem. Different paints ablate differently. Red can be easy removal if it isn't very thick. Orange was a bit more challenging. is not as good. Grease being black cleans up and degreasing axels and gears works well. It also creates an unbearable odor. Never operate any laser cleaner without proper eye protection. You see videos that show and claim no eye protection is required. That is bullshit. The PPE and attire shown in this video is spot on. Using it with no fume extraction and PPE is not something to do. Fumes are noxious and you will quickly find is a terrible idea. High powered lasers like this one have their place but can damage certain substrates. Parameters are key. Great video!

    Question What are the Setting you are using to Clean is there a manual for the Best setting without burning it

    • @LaserEngraving911
      @LaserEngraving911  8 місяців тому

      My settings are not going to help unless you have the same unit, each material is different, and each laser is different. When you guy a laser cleaner you need to take time in the beginning to dial in a test all the settings, for each material and create a library of settings that you like to use.

    Hi, I live in a costal area, so rust is everywhere, I recognize this could come in very handy, but I am not really that great of a businessman, so how could I charge for something like this? by inch, by foot? by hour? by piece? and approx how much per unit of measure? Also, who could be the main recurring customers for this? Can I move this unit or is it best for people to bring in there items? Sorry for this questions, but I see potential in this, I just need someone to help me land this vision/hunch

      Hey There, I watched some of your video, and not there are only some parts of the video where I'm using full power, and some parts I'm only at 50% and so on, I believe you have a dual axis mirror in yours so you about to adjust Width and Hight, and you have a wider frequency range, I choose to go a lower power most of the time and do multiple passes rather than hit everything at full power all the time as not to damage the metal underneath. Thanks for sharing your settings!

    • @LaserEngraving911
      @LaserEngraving911  Рік тому +2

      Great Question! For your application you will need a laser cleaner from SFX with a more control of the energy being thrown at your substrate, here is the unit you will need to accomplish your task without damaging the aluminum base. www.sfxlaser.com/300W-500W-Pulse-Laser-Cleaning-Machine?ref=Michael%20Mullins
      The cost is higher than the BLC2000 in the video, that is because you are buying a "pulsed" laser cleaner with more control, with the ability to remove paints and contaminate with precise control. I would look at Raycus laser sources or JPT laser sources or Max Laser Sources first so you can see what a 2000watt CW laser source will cost you, plus you will need an industrial chiller, and fiber optic cables, transformers, control modul... and on and on its out there you will need to source it all.

    I have been trying to purchase one of these but my bank is concerned putting that kind of money on my paypal wallet. Ive talked to who i thought worked for sfx but when you type in sfx there are several different sfx laser companies. Then when you reach out its the same reps all the companies. Just wondering if you were able to talk to a real person. Any info you give me would be appreciated.

    There are many rusted items that this Laser machine could help salvage that it boggles the mind. However it could be more dangerous than your typical wielder and a lot of people may end up needing a set of lungs and fire insurance. There is always a few that don't heed safety procedures.

      Link in the description, with all the details, a little under 17k, thats not bad considering the power wattage, and a few years ago these types of cleaners were 45-50k, They are becoming more affordable

    $13k USD?!?! Im assuming its so pricey because its a new technology? I just see welders on 240V and you can get them for a couple grand.

      Laugh at my poor ass all ya want, for 13k this is something your going to find in a big professional shop. Everyone else is just going to keep using a wire wheel or media blaster. 🤷‍♂️
