Here's a list of really good Deep Purple riffs: Stormbringer, Into the Fire, Bloodsucker, Space Truckin, Deamon's Eye, Mistreated, Burn, Speed King, Black Night, Picture of Home, Smoke on the Water, Wring that Neck, Highway Star and Lazy. There are many more superb riffs from this band, but you definitely need to check out the ones from above !
I remember showing someone Sabbath for the first time, using that song. Their face when I said "wait till it gets to the heavy part" still makes me laugh.
A non musician friend of mine once asked me why I love Sabbath so much. I told her that their rhythm section was unmatched. Geezer Butler and Bill Ward were the heart and soul of Sabbath. Toni Iommi is a phenomenal guitarist, and Ozzy's vocals were fantastic. But, the rhythm section just grooved underneath the guitar and vocals.
Exactly that. Riffs are just melody, you need a good rhythm section to provide that wallop. I still think that Black Sabbath are still hugely underrated.
@@KennelGuyTries true. We tried out a drummer in the band I was in. It sounded promising. He had graduated from conservatory, and when he came, he told alot about places he had played and so on. And he did some grooves and licks and stuff, and it all was looking good....... until we started playing the song we had sent him..... I Mean..... he had chops for sure BUT! He just didnt play WITH us. It was like he didnt listen to the song, didnt understand It, and he was just basically at being in tune with a band. It threw me off so much, that I messed up a really easy chugging bit of the song (sort of a pre chorus) that I otherwise had down to a T (I wrote It, so obviously I could play It!). Really showed me, that its not enough to have the chops and know all the theory. You need to listen as well
@hesselvanderkooij4825 agree. It's easy to play. When you add other musicians to the mix you have to be able to feel the groove and stay in the pocket. Especially as a drummer. If the drummer goes off the rails the entire song falls apart.
Good band choice & video but come on now. No War Pigs? No Mob Rules? No Children of the Grave? No Snowblind? No Hole in the Sky? No Black Sabbath?? No Symptom of the Universe?? What the living fook???
Juli Clark it's not that Iron Mans bad, it's just it's their most popular song AND one of the easiest riffs to play on guitar, this is a well made list that put more unknown fan favorites before their most popular and famous songs
@Heroin Bob The fuck? People learn Paranoid and Iron Man usually before War Pigs and either way an overplayed song isn't a bad song. I would agree if anyone were to have said that War Pigs, like Hallowed Be Thy Name, doesn't really have a signature riff. Either way, to compare War Pigs to Stairway is like comparing Bone Cancer to Influenza. Sorry for the dark comparison but seriously?
Sympton of the Universe and Hole in the Sky have pretty good riffs, too. But, I like more the classic Sabbath, the entire Paranoid album is a masterpiece.
My Favorite Song From Black Sabbath : 1. Paranoid 2. Iron Man 3. N.I.B. 4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 5. Children of The Grave 6. Heaven and Hell 7. War Pigs
It's impossible to choose just 10 riffs. But I can't complain about the playing, that was perfect! I'd add to the list Killing Yourself to Live, War Pigs, Snowblind, Into the Void, Children of the Grave, Dirty Women, etc. Do a second part please!
What I thought when I knew about Iommi's accident with his fingers was: no matter what difficult the life become to you, you can achieve your best and use it lika an opportunity to grow up. Iommi's riffs are originals like no other guitarrist at his time could do.
I love this list because it's clearly YOUR list. I was expecting Iron Man cuz everyone has that but you definitely picked YOUR favorites and I like that. My personal number 1 Sabbath riff is Into The Void.
My top ten would be 10 - Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 9 - NIB 8 - Lord Of This World 7 - Supertzar 6 - Fairies Wear Boots 5 - Snowblind 4 - Symptom Of The Universe 3 - Into The Void 2 - Under The Sun 1 - A National Acrobat
It's impossible to do a top 10 black Sabbath because toni iommi the riff writer so you just can't choose symptom Of The universe, children of the grave, hole in the sky, into the void, snowblind, wheels of confusion are just the riffs that came in mind to me. But that's only my opinion
The riffs that come at the end of both Into The Void and Under The Sun are probably my favorite Sabbath riffs. That and the middle section of Hand of Doom. And the heavy ass pre-chorus in Wheels of Confusion. Or the fast riff at the end of Black Sabbath. Or the heavy riff at the end of Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Or the arpeggio in the chorus of Snowblind. Or the groovy middle part of Killing Yourself To Live. Or the riff right before the vocals in The Thrill of It All. Or the middle part of Cornucopia. Or pretty much every second of War Pigs, if we’re being honest.
My top 10: 1)Symptom of the universe 2)Heaven and hell 3)A national acrobat 4)Children of the grave 5)Sweet leaf 6)Sabbath Bloody Sabbath 7)Paranoid 8)NIB 9)Electric Funeral 10)Megalomania
If i had a doller for everytime i see guys like this .. This guy more than likely wasn't even born when Sabbath put this old stuff out .. Thanks for doin your home work..
10. Wheels Of Confusion/The Straightener 9. All Moving Parts (Stand Still) 8. Falling Off The Edge Of The World 7. You Won't Change Me 6. Cornucopia 5. After Forever 4. Voodoo The last 3 were crushing to rank because every big time Sabbath fan knows that these three are the monster riffs 3. Into The Void 2. A National Acrobat 1. Supernaut
No Into the Void? Under the Sun? Fairies Wear Boots? Killing Yourself To Live? Looking for Today? Black Sabbath? Children of the Grave? Sabbra Cadabbra?God, what a great band. Tony is a great songwriter. Glad to see Supernaut on the list, that’s one of my favorites.
This is a great list. I say there isn't an incorrect way to eating a Reese's peanut butter cup. But a riff I would of loved is over and over. Tony hits your soul
huh, not much love for the wizard down here? i thought that was one of the more generally loved ones? certainty in my top three, then again i do also genuinely love never say die.
Dood, you are freakin bad ass!! Damn, I wish I could play like that! Stumbled across your channel by accident, saw the Led Zeppelin riffs and I was hooked! You rock dude!
I’m not done watching the video yet, but seriously he didn’t include fairies wear boots? That is one of my favorite Sabbath songs and such an amazing riff
I think Tony is the godfather of heavy riffs which set the tone and the wheels in motion for a long future of nasty, killer riffs from many guitarists to date since those 1st ground breaking albums. My how things progressed...
Into the Void, Hole in the Sky, the Straightener, National Acrobat, Sign of the Southern Cross, Swinging the Chain, Dirty Women, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Valhalla, Snowblind... That's already 10, but there's so much more to love.
A lot of you guys are asking for a Deep Purple Top 10... why not!!
Let me know under this comment what's the riff that I cannot miss! 🤘🏻
Here's a list of really good Deep Purple riffs:
Stormbringer, Into the Fire, Bloodsucker, Space Truckin, Deamon's Eye, Mistreated, Burn, Speed King, Black Night, Picture of Home, Smoke on the Water, Wring that Neck, Highway Star and Lazy.

Perfect strangers
You can't miss Child in Time or Burn
best mastodon riffs!!!!
Burn...
"Iommi, a.k.a the Riffmaster. It's all his fault where I am today." -James Hetfield
guaranteed
Sabbath is pretty much the only band you could make a top 100 riffs video and people will still ask “where is (...) ?”
a national acrobat is the most unappreciated sabbath songs ever and it’s SO GOOD! Thanks for including it
I agree. For many years my favorite song
Definitely the best lyrics. They're like a total trip when your stoned maaaan!
*the Tony Martin era is sorely underrated
Just remember love is life
And hate is living death
Treat your life for what it's worth
And live for every breath
this riff will always bring tears to my eyes, i dont know why
Tony Iommi is The King of Riffs
Jimmy page says hi
Other than Jimmy page of course
@Adolfo Hernández dimebag had a very meh tone, and his riffs began to sound generic after fbd
James Hetfield wants to know your location
Davi Eduardo Ritchie Blackmore wants to know your location
Best sabbath riffs = every sabbath riff ever recorded
thanks for the precision
i wouldn't trust someone named Doctor Dank :/
the riffs on never say die aren't that good :/
Supernaut sucks.
War pigs is nothing special only 1-2-1-2-1-2 thats it GREAT SONG anyways !
Sabbath, Bloody Sabbath secondary riff is illegally heavy
Sounds like a heavy metal song that was made today, but hey music wouldnt be where it is today if it wasen’t for black Sabbath
Trash O-O that’s why it’s so good
Yes..... it's perfect
So is Megalomania
I remember showing someone Sabbath for the first time, using that song. Their face when I said "wait till it gets to the heavy part" still makes me laugh.
Into the Void
Lucas Falla kiss?
Alexis fernando The last track on Master of Reality.
Into the void>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> heaven and hell
EXACTLY
into the void is inzayn

@@z23xc5 This is true. I've played in bands where the bassist or drummer weren't that good and it throws the whole band out of sync.

Just 10 songs is too little for Black Sabbath
So true, do a part 2
true
Every song in Sabbath is perfection or close to it. We can only saIomi is a bossy the same for very few bands. Tony Iommi is a boss!
Flávio Giannini black sabbath songs are better than cheesecake.
I say at least 30. No less.
"A national acrobat" favourite Sabbath's riff!!!!
Was I the only one who said "oh yeah" at 1:47?
Definitely not
Nope
No sir
Nah
I said it
So glad you included a national acrobat, honestly one of the best Sabbath riffs ever written (along with just about everything Iommi conceived)
The bridge riff from National Acrobat is the most insane slow grind groove ever.
In my opinion it’s THE best sabbath riff ever and the best metal riff ever
Good list because it has Electric Funeral.
That's all I need from a Black Sabbath riff list.
Good list because it's Black Sabbath.
Jan Paradowski All I was looking for was Electric Funeral
Good band choice & video but come on now. No War Pigs? No Mob Rules? No Children of the Grave? No Snowblind? No Hole in the Sky? No Black Sabbath?? No Symptom of the Universe?? What the living fook???
Jan Paradowski No love for iron man?
Juli Clark it's not that Iron Mans bad, it's just it's their most popular song AND one of the easiest riffs to play on guitar, this is a well made list that put more unknown fan favorites before their most popular and famous songs
War Pigs?
Parker Hetzel just cause it’s overplayed doesn’t mean it’s not a badass riff though
Parker Hetzel iron man is played more then war pigs
Heroin Bob We don’t talk about Stairway in reference to the Sabbath.
I'd say the last part riff. Is that the one you guus have in mind?
@Heroin Bob The fuck? People learn Paranoid and Iron Man usually before War Pigs and either way an overplayed song isn't a bad song. I would agree if anyone were to have said that War Pigs, like Hallowed Be Thy Name, doesn't really have a signature riff. The greatest band to ever walk the Earth on the right instrument? Day made man.
Thank you mate!
Comic Lover Sabbath better than Zeppelin? No way.
Yeah sorry but Led Zeppelin is objectively better.
SMJ Um that's subjective bud it's an opinion.
SMJ I never even mention Zeppelin also.
Let's all agree that this is a solid top 10, except "Into the Void" should be in it.
Rafael Tristão Heaven and Hell definitely shouldn’t be number 1. Into the void is a much better option for the number 1 spot
into the void is easy number one for me
And Megalomania. Maybe Age of Reason too
@@mokhan8832 for me, the two riffs are equal as great
Guitar Riff metal wither
Where is "children of the grave" :o
At your moms
Its a god deamn good song but the riff is not actually a really good riff
Probably bc its played in another tuning al this songs are standar tuning
Dario Vargas Supernaut isnt in Standard Tuning
Children of the grave reminds me of Batman
3:18 Petty sure mostly everybody's favorite riff
It always gives me chills
National acrobat gets me wet tho
2:00 is my favorite
It’s fkn perfect in every way, wish I could I listen it on loop over and over. Same goes with the main Lord of this world riff.
You right
Sympton of the Universe and Hole in the Sky have pretty good riffs, too. But, I like more the classic Sabbath, the entire Paranoid album is a masterpiece.
yeah i dont like dio sabbath very much
Symptom should definitely be on this list, it’s just a classic riff and deserves top 10 no doubt.
Mob Rules must have been #11.
Symptom of the Universe and Hole in the Sky aren't classics? Too… modern? ;-)
SoTU e HitS are classic Sabbath too.
My Favorite Song From Black Sabbath :
1. Paranoid
2. Iron Man
3. N.I.B.
4. Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
5. Children of The Grave
6. Heaven and Hell
7. War Pigs
If you like their well known songs, give a full listen to Master Of Reality and Vol. 4
It's impossible to choose just 10 riffs. But I can't complain about the playing, that was perfect!
I'd add to the list Killing Yourself to Live, War Pigs, Snowblind, Into the Void, Children of the Grave, Dirty Women, etc.
Do a second part please!
Ñañuco
Killing yourself to live is an amazing song
Yes, do a second part!
Snow blind in my opinion is their best song, sad that vol 4 is underrated
Lewis Jones Ikr! Well tbh I can't even think that even a top 20 riffs would do justice to Sabbath!
Priyank Sharma im pretty sure he didn't touch vol 4 because of the tuning
What I thought when I knew about Iommi's accident with his fingers was: no matter what difficult the life become to you, you can achieve your best and use it lika an opportunity to grow up. Iommi's riffs are originals like no other guitarrist at his time could do.
Into the void NEEDS to be there!!
The Voice of Koča Popović and hole in the sky
Agreed.
Also snowblind
I love this list because it's clearly YOUR list. I was expecting Iron Man cuz everyone has that but you definitely picked YOUR favorites and I like that.
My personal number 1 Sabbath riff is Into The Void.
One of the best tops i've ever seen
Because you put Heaven and Hell as your favorite you became my favorite person. Your list is so well rounded to their catalog good stuff man
Your top 10 videos are fucking awesome! You play them so good, and really fun to watch.
My top ten would be

7 - Supertzar
6 - Fairies Wear Boots
5 - Snowblind

Silver Bird I fucking love A National Acrobat
Some Random UA-cam Commenter one of the best songs I've ever heard
Silver Bird, no love for Iron man?? Iron man is my fave
Juli Clark good one but it's too overplayed, still rocks tho, that ending is great
Silver Bird, Let him play it all he wants!!! It's the best metal song ever
Omg my heart was so much for Heaven and Hell but I was absolutely sure that you would just ignore Dio's stuff, loved the video!
Oh man, Good Job, good riffs, I think "Into the void" is their best riff, but i agree with list list too.
It's Under the sun for me
Into the void is the shit!
For Black Sabbath a top 10 riff list is a complete oxymoron. Way too many killer riffs man.
It's impossible to do a top 10 black Sabbath because toni iommi the riff writer so you just can't choose symptom Of The universe, children of the grave, hole in the sky, into the void, snowblind, wheels of confusion are just the riffs that came in mind to me. But that's only my opinion
Children of the grave is an easy riff, but extremely powerful and grabs you by the throat. I love playing that song.
Paranoid- 2 minutes song that give impact to all rock lover
Where is megalomania? IMO it's the best riff Iommi ever created
nobody ever remembers this, my #1 for sure
Megalomania is PURE EPICNESS.
Definitely Sabbath’s most underrated riff.
Robert John Paul Page *megalovania
Sorry i had to
Where's Bonham bitch!?
Nice list. Black Sabbath has so many riffs of this caliber that it would take a Top 20-40 list to satisfy most hard core fans of the band.
A national acrobat, falling off the edge of the world , shock wave are some of my fav to name a few.
Gabriel Christ scopion

9. All Moving Parts (Stand Still)
8. Falling Off The Edge Of The World
7. You Won't Change Me
6. Cornucopia
5. After Forever
4. Voodoo
The last 3 were crushing to rank because every big time Sabbath fan knows that these three are the monster riffs
3. Into The Void
2. A National Acrobat
1. Supernaut
two songs from Technical Ecstasy and none of the mainstream big hits? ok I guess lol
Big Papa Manman - great list, voo doo is my favorite dio era song; such a nasty riff...
Should be the top 100 BS riffs. Too many to chose from here. Iommi was such a riff machine.
Fantastic covers ! Tony Iommi is a pure genius, and BS one of my favourite band !
Into.The.Void.
Tony Iommi =master of riffs
Anyone else think SG's are the most beautiful guitars out there
Zack G. Yes! George Harrisons was the most beautiful tho...
Zack G., Me
I do too, but, i havent found one that sounds quite right for me.
Zack G. I prefer single cuts, but yeah, SGs look great in general
They look great. I think they’re uncomfortable, because of where the strap post is on the back. It feels weird to me.
This is a great list. I say there isn't an incorrect way to eating a Reese's peanut butter cup. But a riff I would of loved is over and over. Tony hits your soul
"A National Acrobat" remember me "Fade To Black", of Metallica.... Why?
One of the riffs before the solo of fade to Black sounds a lot like a national acrobat. Probably the inspiration to the Metallica's song
Cause you're half deaf.
"No one but me can save myself but it's too late"
I hear it

BADASS!!! Love how threw the NIB bass line in there too! Amazing tone for Paranoid too! Great gear and tone Bro, even better riff magic!
1:33 immortal riff. N.I.B.
I like the fact that you also nailed the bass-lines. Good job! :)
iron man and national acrobat are my favorites
Reminds me how Im not the biggest sabbath fan, these videos are so great to have.
Finally BLACK SABBATH BABAY
Dood, you are freakin bad ass!! Damn, I wish I could play like that! Stumbled across your channel by accident, saw the Led Zeppelin riffs and I was hooked! You rock dude!
How could you miss into the void. That's the number 1 sabbath and metal riff of all time.
3:21 the standard face to make when listening to just about any Black Sabbath song.
Brilliant But no Fairies Wear Boots? That has most of my favourite riffs in it!
I’m not done watching the video yet, but seriously he didn’t include fairies wear boots? That is one of my favorite Sabbath songs and such an amazing riff
Heaven and Hell deserves its rightful #1 spot for not just the guitar, but the bassline and drums going SO well together in the verse.
Where is Black Sabbath from the self-titled album??????????
What an awesome job man, you just captured the Sabbath essence. Well done
Really missing Into the Void
Really happy A National Acrobat made it on the list. Songs been stuck in my head forever.
2:08 to any haters.
I think Tony is the godfather of heavy riffs which set the tone and the wheels in motion for a long future of nasty, killer riffs from many guitarists to date since those 1st ground breaking albums. My how things progressed...

Is there no love for country girl? Dio vs Ozzy Sabbath aside, this riff is killer
I'm Ozzy's no. 1 fan
I think he should have at least ome more song from Dio, and a couple for Martin and Hughes
True af
How many timeless riffs can one man frigging write????? All HAIL Tony!!!
A NATIONAL ACROBAT
Superb, thankyou for letting us watch you play.
Vida longa ao Sabbath
Into the Void, Hole in the Sky, the Straightener, National Acrobat, Sign of the Southern Cross, Swinging the Chain, Dirty Women, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Valhalla, Snowblind... That's already 10, but there's so much more to love.
Top 10 Riffs: Van Halen
2:04 even rock depressive songs are amazing. The world is such a beautiful thing
Killing Yourself to Live is severely underrated, it has like 3 or 4 killer riffs in one song.
The sound is pretty spot on, beatiful playing! :)
Liked the video, but where's war pig and iron man?
Noah Crawford iron man is number 5
I feel like an idiot now. I guess I expected iron man to be #1 so much that I missed it
Noah Crawford Iron man is my favorite song by Black Sabbath
Iron man was there. Damn you missed it.
Noah Crawford, Iron man is on there
Heaven and Hell is so underated, really glad you put it in one of those!!!
Where is Zero The Hero?
Tommy never stopped rolling out great riffs
How about Top 10 Riffs: Skid Row?
N.I.B. Will always be my favorite, it’s so sick
They way you played Supernaut made me cringe.
Same, but Sabbath Bloody Sabbath was worse
It's impossible for me to cringe with all these awesome songs!!!! All these songs are awesome!!!!!! Metal!!!!!!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'd like to see you try to play it the way you think is correct.
I play it different also. There are a lot of ways to play songs. Especially Sabbath.
Hell yea! You played alot of heavy songs alot of people dont know about! Rock on my brother!
Almost all Ozzy tracks come the f on! No Computer God, Voodoo, Falling of the Edge of the World, The Shining,... ???
gatts yes falling off the edge of the world is his best riff imo
Giving heaven and hell the love it deserves. Rock on man
