This is one of the best films from the 90s, this film is not just a crime saga, this is a film about how people burn their lives and only at the last moment get a very important and valuable moment.... I understood this film ... thanks to the creators of this film ... all the characters played perfectly and it was shot on by nature... There are few such films now
I just rewatched it last night and was struck by how epic the film feels. It has operatic vibes, has so much passion and scope, way beyond what you'd expect for the genre. That's one of the things I love most about it and what makes it stand out. And I think you really captured that here!
@@jamilshekinski exactly. I went back recently through his work and that's totally right, I think that's his signature. Takes a story, usually within a genre with all the trappings and would be ordinary in the wrong hands, but just overloads it with passion and scope. Also, he has an excellent sense of style. A gritty world inhabited by people that are both elegant and dangerous, great hair, great outfits, production design and cinematography have a modern, graphical flair to them, whether it's Miami or the Apalacian mountains in the mid-1700's. Miami Vice is one of the few films that I love mostly because of its style. Story isn't super deep or interesting, but damn I love looking at it.
Well done. That line by Waingro ,"Hes real thorough, he aint gonna forget about you" is the greatest of many great lines in this movie. And, yes there is obsession and it starts with Micheal Mann. I love an artist who is obsessed!
@@MichaelEdwards_Edits You are a fcking ARTIST. I'm not even kissing your 4ss. I've seen ALL the Heat trailers, and this is objectively *THE* best one I've ever seen. From the music, the lines, the shots you picked out and how it was edited together was just PERFECT. 👌 My brother still hasn't seen the movie. I'm gonna be showing him THIS trailer so that he watches it. Seriously I've watched this trailer like five times in a row already. 😆
10/10 trailer!!! The one constructive criticism I have: incorporate the original soundtrack song Moby did for the ending, “god moving over the face of the waters”. That end scene with that music encompasses the epicness of the film. Great edit dude!
One thing that will slip by unnoticed simply because the whole thing is so great is the work you did on the dialogue. Really nicely edited to remove certain words to make it trailer-worthy. Top quality.
Oh love it man well done. I love the Pacino 'Ha' and then the hit on the armoured truck. Great choice of track, in keeping with the etherial tones and timbre of Eno and Goldenthal.
I was a teenager when this first came out, and I remember seeing the trailer and thinking, "Oh look, yet another action movie" (as the 90s was full of them) so I avoided it. I only just watched this not 2 days ago, and it has become one of my favorite movies of all time. The writing, the acting, the cinematography, it's all just sublime. It also made me sit there enthralled whilst the credits rolled and no movie has done that to me since...well the 90's. This is not just a good action movie, it's an Epic that should not be missed.
Yeah... But NEVER EVER has one starred one of the greatest ensembles ever on the screen.. Not too mention Pacino DeNiro 😳 I was 17 when it came out & watched it in theaters the 2nd weekend out.. all everyone talked about for a month was the bank heist/shootout
This trailer just rocked my world 🤯. You captured the essence of how this movie feels when you watch it, the themes, the relationships…wow incredible edit ✊
The casting for this movie was UNBELIEVABLE... Every character was perfect . The lightning, music, and pace of the movie were topnotch. Not to mention one of the best directors ever in charge 👍🏿
One of the best films to ever come out of the 90's. If not even one of the best films ever made. It's just SO good. Amazing edit as well my friend. Great job
Mr Edwards is in the making TRAILER business. 10/10. I really hope someone in LA see’s your work & picks you up. If not … start putting it out there- YOUR OPEN for BUSINESS.
Fantastic work! I usually don’t watch fan made trailers, but this one is better than all three from 95, made me feel excited to see it, like I hadn’t already seen it 100 times. Fantastic work! Bloody Hell, I’ve just watched it 10 more times, best modern trailer I’ve ever seen! Finally, a trailer worthy of the film!
Wow, this is an absolutely incredible edit, man. Seriously. Well done. I work in production as a camera operator within the industry, and I have an immense about of respect for the editors/editing process in post. It can, literally, make or break the entire project. Film trailers are an art form all their own, and the good one’s can leave an impact. This is among the best trailers I’ve ever seen on UA-cam, period….and to be honest, it’s far better than what most of the heavy hitting production houses are producing nowadays, as well. I hope you make a few more of these fantastic modern trailer edits before taking a full-time position with a production house, which I’m sure is inevitable. So, yeah, man, great job. Keep it up. Can’t wait to see what you produce next. Also, what music is this in this trailer? And where are you getting your selections because all your edits have fantastic music choices that are perfect fits for the film/genre.
Wow! that's some incredibly high praise, Thankyou for such generous words and compliments. I certainly have more edits in the pipeline, and landing an opportunity with a production house would indeed be a dream. The track is called 'The Stars Dance with Fire' by Elephant Music. Most of my tracks are sourced from trailer music vendors like Elephant Music, Really Slow Motion, 2WEI, and Audio Machine, which I license through their client areas. I can spend days searching and listening to hours of music just to find the right track, so it's rewarding to receive positive feedback on the music choices. It's a bit of a grind 😆.
@@MichaelEdwards_Edits- Yeah, man, I meant everything I said. All your edits are really great, but your Alien, Aliens and Heat trailers really grabbed my attention and impressed the hell out of me. Where are you based? I’ve worked in LA, Atlanta and, most recently, Toronto, and while I cannot promise anything whatsoever, I could certainly pass these on to some of the editors I know and see if they have connections who could help you out in some way. You looking to cut trailers or features (or shows) long term? Again, I’m no editor (I’m pretty shit, honestly 😂) so the majority of the people I know are in production…But I can certainly try and help you out where I can because I recognize talent when I see it. Also, thanks for the music title. I’ll be sure to check out those recommendations from various artists. Happy holidays! Look forward to seeing what you release in 2024!
Oh, of course. Even just passing it on would be incredibly generous of you. I'd be curious just to get some impressions or advice from people in that particular field. I'm from England/UK so I imagine anything more than that would be a stretch, or who knows, lead to a very long commute 😂. To be honest, I haven't put much thought into what area of editing I'd like to progress into. I never really considered the possibility it could lead to anything, but that being said, I'm obviously a fan of the short-form storytelling style of editing, so trailers would be a first choice if I had the option. But again, dude, thank you so much for your super kind compliments and support. I hope you've been having a great festive period.
Love HEAT one of the most awesome movies ever and it has always looked and felt good - Every moment of the HEAT movie is perfect. One of the classics. I hope Michael Mann can create something as good as it again. I think this trailer brings back memories for me and makes me want to watch it again.
@@MichaelEdwards_Edits I’m not sure how that would be but HEAT itself was a remake or reimagining of an earlier Michael Mann movie LA TAKEDOWN - so lots can be reimagined or if it’s a proper sequel with the same actors, and it can be told I guess there could be surprise in store. A sequel could be done in so many ways and not necessarily based on the Heat 2 book as Mann may want that to sit in its own way in the universe. I love most of what Mann has done including MIAMI VICE and stuff like MANHUNTER and THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS so what I mean is, let’s hope he can create something as good as it again or even better, not necessarily a sequel.

This is actually really great! Doesn't give much away about the film, but encapsulates the great suspense of the film. The only criticism right now, after having only watched this trailer once, is that at the "I am never going back" at 2.:09, I'd push that audio to the black screen and silence just a second or two later. Reason being is that at the end of the film, Neil says "told you I wasn't going back" as he is dying, slipping into blackness. Also, the sequence where Neil looks directly at camera in infrared where Vincent calls off the arrest. That's a really powerful sequence of images. But yes, absolutely fantastic job!! 👏🏾👏🏾
See... YOU USED THE SCORE. That is what "modern trailer" people usually get wrong. The score evokes the entire mood of the film and is just as important as anything you see on screen. Plus you just nailed showing the overall mood and tone without really letting us now specific plotpoints. No kidding, this is the first time i have ever seen this done right without Chris Nolan "WAAAHHSSSS" or just picking out action scenes in what is a tense drama

I appreciate you offering your thoughts, all valid points. Thanks my dude.
Excellent work .Hats off to you my man.. Epic Trailer.
This is superb. I love this movie so much. This trailer honestly does it justice
Not the score.... but it could be for Heat 2!! I'd hre these guys.
What a score !!
My god this trailer is excellent, gives me goosebumps for what is one of the best films ever made, this trailer is as good as the film
