Richard Corben is one of my all time favorite artists! Great video! Thanks!
Thanks to you for watching and commenting
The Den segment of the Heavy Metal movie has a comedic tone, compared to the dramatic tone of Corben pages.
I mean, he's even voiced by John Candy in it. Yes, John Candy played Den. I couldn't believe it when I looked it up. He pulled off a really good tough guy voice.
@@chaoticiannunez2419 Yup. A comedian! There weren't even interested in giving it an honest effort as a drama. All too often that's been the case with graphic-page-to screen-adaptations in Hollywood. Various Japan studios have suceeding in faithfully adapting hundreds of manga to anime. Heavy Metal couldn't even manage one movie. Even with an army of (directionless) animators.
I would love to see a live action movie of this. In the right hands this could be amazing.
Best artist ever.
Great video! Thanks so much for putting it together. Corben was one of the best!

@@Vomitbukkake Unfortunately Don Lawrence died 20 years ago. I thought maybe another fan might know.
My favourite is muvovum
That shit is ridiculous!
Based on R.E Howards - Almuric.
Loosely.
Den saga was left unfinished, what happen with pucca and her boys?, and with uncle dan ?
There was a follow up in the Shadows On The Grave anthology.
P Saw the movie as a young kid barely a teenager never realized it was a comic
I bet editing to hide "bits" was difficult.😂.
You can be sure of that!
OK, what I don't get is if David Ellis Norman (Dan) was an engineer on Earth than why hasn't he used his knowledge & skill to craft things to help him in his battles instead of fighting like a common uneducated Thug?
Not enough tools to actually make anything plus it wasn’t as convenient
He remembers nothing but his initials.
