I look at it like how MJ/Kobe or Kobe/Bron never really was what it could’ve been because they were all just at different places in their careers when the next one came along. 7-10 years separated their primes.

It feel like throwing subs, having great verses and projects is the friendly competition aspect of it, where artists can acknowledge and respect it enough to respond with wittiness as your pen name. Direct disses and battling is the fight in public where so much can/could have in the past hinge on the outcome. They beef in every genre, but beef is different than testing yourself.
