+Alberto Neurohr too true, :) I actually felt extreamly uneasy the first time i listened to this. Never has Mettallica sounded so upbeat and joyful about life. Their has to be a catch. :)
this versions sound actually fits more to the official music video. its like they are documentating their good times and it feels nostalgic. just perfect
This is "Everything Matters", a powerful and happy rock ballad by the band Metallica. The song has instantly reached #1 in 36 countries and, to this day, is proclaimed one of the best songs of all time. Metallica's singer James Hetfield says "I want to send a message of joy to our beautiful world, you should never care what people think about you because life is yours and you need to live it your way without having people telling you what you should do. This song means a lot for me: i've actually been in this situation many times so i decided to make a song about it." Lars Ulrich, the drummer, admits "We're thinking of changing our band's name to Naturallica because metal is evil."
I prefer this to the original. The feeling i get from the original is "no matter what happens I'll persevere" but this feels like "Persevere? Fuck that, I'm gonna win at EVERYTHING!"
Listening to this, I imagine a soldier finally coming home after spending years trapped in a hellish war zone. He kneels and hugs his five year old daughter as his wife stands on the porch with tears of joy streaming down everyone's faces. No fear, no orders, no blood to be shed, all he needs now is to be with his family... And nothing else matters.
...and then a cut: in the bombed and destroyed land he had just left a car mechanic is crying with his dead five year old daughter in his arms. There's no romantic with war. And your soldier will be a post traumatic alcoholic.
Overall I love this! The only really painful part is at 3:15, but that's bound to happen when altering the pitch on a previously recorded track. Now, if Metallica could do this version live, that would be amazing lol.
For the last 24 hours I've been obsessed with listening to songs in their opposite keys. This is one of my favorites haha! My other favorite thing to do is listen to songs in 8 bit. What if a song is played in 8 bit with the opposite key?
James Hetfield breathes his last, and his soul drifts to the celestial realm of Heaven. A gleam of golden light coalesces, revealing Cliff Burton standing nearby with a tranquil smile. "James, I have waited for the day that we would see each other again. Welcome, my dear friend."
I just discovered this genre of youtube videos and can't wait to casually play them while my mother, a big fan of 80s music, is around. With no explanation.
I'm seriously rediscovering this song thanks to this version. Apart from one particularly sour note, I really love the feeling of longing expressed by this version. I'm even digging the weird diminished chord in the bridge. I've probably listened to it 20 times since I found this video yesterday.
I think this version worked quite well, and I love the original. This one contains more hope, even though some of the sadness is still there. I've played this myself over and over again, so it was very nice to hear it like this. Good job! I think it all comes down to that Nothing Else Matters is such a great song that it's completely transtonal and transharmonic.
The intro now sounds very much like the intro to "Hey Dude" by Beatallica. Almost as if they based it on this version of Nothing else Matters. Anyone else who hears the same?
I don't agree major makes everything happy. For example, G major and C# major are sad, while their minor parallels are happy. A G major song like "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" by Air Supply is sadder than the G minor "I Spit on Your Grave" by Sinergy.
As a songwriter this took me out of my Metallica comfort zone and really allowed me realize how well written this song is in general like all the subtle little tension resolution moments throughout I'm able to hear now. 🤘🏾
Now "Everything Matters" - by Metallica
Haha perfect comment
I'd go with "Everything Else Matters"
+Alberto Neurohr too true, :) I actually felt extreamly uneasy the first time i listened to this. Never has Mettallica sounded so upbeat and joyful about life. Their has to be a catch. :)
+Tobakilacion lol thanks
did you have to say it 9 times?
this versions sound actually fits more to the official music video. its like they are documentating their good times and it feels nostalgic. just perfect
When I hear this version I cant stop imagining all Metallica members running & jumping in a flower field with butterflies flying around.
Gay
James, did a butterfly land on your hand? YEAAAAAH!!!
Best comment
I would watch that.
LOL
this version sounds like a grown man frolicking through a field of daisies crying of happiness.
I could picture James doing that haha, with his moustache and all :P
LOL
🤣🤣🤣😭😭
Very colorful imagery! Love this comment
I can imagine James doing that
This makes my brain hurt because it sounds so weird but it sounds so cool at the same time.
The vocals sound very good actually
What a wonderful christmas song!

Lollllll fucking underrated ! XDD
Metal is NOT bad. Its a little frightening, but it wards off evil spirits😲.
Hearing the initial guitars I was expecting Ave Maria.
Classical. ;)
Sounds like a Bon Jovi power ballad.
"I want to lay you down on a bed of roseeeeees..
..YEAH YEAH!!"
Teresa Gomes FUCK I WAS JUST GOING TO SAY THAT
Or Aerosmith
@Electric Scars Bob Rock produced both songs, and regulary worked with Aerosmith and Bon Jovi as engineer.
Nah, this sounds like something Cinderella would put out. I can hear Tom Keifer singing something like this.
I am surprised in how good it actually works. both from a composition perspective and also sound quality o_O
And the video! XD
One day, on April 1st, Metallica needs to do this in concert.
You'd be able to watch people's heads spontaneously combust in place of waving lighters.
Like the head explosion scene in kingsmen
That would scare James.
Sounds like something you'd play in church.
Cathollica - Pastor of Muppets

***** It is! Thrash metal is turning saintly.
Ilya S Thrash metal was always godlike to begin with.
So heavy it washed my sins
As an audio engineer, I am stunned that this could even be done! I mean, the work involved... Wow.
Can't stop listening to this. It's so uplifting and beautiful. James' harmonies are incredible, especially at 2:19.
you don't know how long I've waited to hear this song in E major. thank you.
Intro sounds like a lullaby.
Khepramancer I second this notion
sounds like ben by jackson 5 too
Silent night
Had this song on my best friend's funeral, he was only 18 years old. So beautiful song. Rip Bjerk.
So sorry, for your loss. He must've really loved Mettalica😞.
On a happier note? Was BJERK his REAL name? Or did he really, really love BJORK?
I prefer this to the original. The feeling i get from the original is "no matter what happens I'll persevere" but this feels like "Persevere? Fuck that, I'm gonna win at EVERYTHING!"
FUCK YEAH =D!!!!
Metallica need to record this version
or unexpectedly play it live
Listening to this, I imagine a soldier finally coming home after spending years trapped in a hellish war zone. He kneels and hugs his five year old daughter as his wife stands on the porch with tears of joy streaming down everyone's faces. No fear, no orders, no blood to be shed, all he needs now is to be with his family...

Gabriel Reyes I would actually like a good war movie to end up like this. Eye waterfall? Completely assured.
until the PTSD starts
Nice ! Ever thought of directing a film?
...and then a cut: in the bombed and destroyed land he had just left a car mechanic is crying with his dead five year old daughter in his arms.
There's no romantic with war. And your soldier will be a post traumatic alcoholic.
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY
I imagined Metallica in their Glam Metal phase, Hetfield walking in the rain, with his hairy chest showing...
>metallica
>glam metal
wut
You clearly didn't got the joke.
>greentexting on YT
O shit nigga what are you doing.
what's wit the meme arrows

Absolutely brilliant!!!! Love this! Thank you for doing this. The song still actually sounds cool.
Merry Christmas, everyone!
Merry Christmas
I LOVE that we have the technology to do this!
Could've done it by changing chords and therefore key too
Actually, this is really good. This is the first song i hear that is equally good in both minor and major scale!
REM's Losing My Religion in major is pretty sweet too
Give Livin La Vida Loca in Major a try!
every breath you take in minor is so cool
Overall I love this! The only really painful part is at 3:15, but that's bound to happen when altering the pitch on a previously recorded track. Now, if Metallica could do this version live, that would be amazing lol.
Joe Washburn I think someone should do a cover in a major - I'd love to hear it....
I loved life before precovid
@404 TV I have no idea why I said that
That diminished chord sounds so good in the chorus. :)
Yes!! So powerful!
The chorus sounds even better here
Why does it sound a little creepy though? Because it's replaced with sharps?
this is the best thing on the internet
minor: "Nothing Else Matters" - Metallica
major: "Nothing Else Matters" - Dire Straits
I keep coming back to this version, so sweet and uplifting
For the last 24 hours I've been obsessed with listening to songs in their opposite keys. This is one of my favorites haha! My other favorite thing to do is listen to songs in 8 bit. What if a song is played in 8 bit with the opposite key?
This made my day.
It actually seems so much sadder to me when it's in major, but I love this, you gotta make more
It feels like the end of a journey
James Hetfield breathes his last, and his soul drifts to the celestial realm of Heaven. A gleam of golden light coalesces, revealing Cliff Burton standing nearby with a tranquil smile. "James, I have waited for the day that we would see each other again. Welcome, my dear friend."
Damn...
Makes it sound like James Blunt wrote it.
dude, my coffee :D
James Bluntfield
djrmonix Bluntallica - And James Doesn't Matter
I once rearranged this song on Guitar Pro to sound in E major. You beat me five years ago to making it a reality though. Thumbs up!
after hearing this i realized a Lot of country music is in major scale.
Minor country is country blues, like Cash.
+ThisChannelHasNoContent most of cashes songs are minor major
Cheered me up considerably, and I'm not joking. I was depressed when I came, I'm happy now. Gonna save this to a playlist.
Sounds like the 70's stuff... Genesis, Kansas, Urian Heep, Eagles, Budgie, and all that kind of amazing bands.
Such a extremely rare and beautiful version
This is beautiful
I have so many mixed emotions right now
This is strangely so.... kind and happy :)
This is gonna be my wedding song xd
i prefer the drums in this version
Hahahaha
Arthur Rodrigues unfortunately, Lars can't drum in major key.
mike dillaha Lars can't drum....period haha
@@seb76834 shut up
I would like to see you play blackened on drums , can you send me a video of you doing that pls
Why the fuck does it sound good?!
Even the drums are happy xD
BEST CHRISTMAS SONG EVER :DDDD this is sooo cool
Brilliant. Love both versions
everything fits perfectly, and I just love how the solo sounds so sweeeeeet !
play at x1.25 for a ye' olde English theme O'the court
+spasticator FUCK ME UP
+spasticator I highly recommend that everyone try this.
Im so glad you recommended. Magnificent.
hahahahha
Made me think of Everybody Hurts by REM.
OH MY GOD SO SO SO SO SO SO GENIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Highly expected to hear Hallelujah start out after the intro
Because of Metallica's lyrics as well it instantly turns them into a Christian rock band singing about God
The solo sounded a bit Guns N Roses...
I feel like i'm sitting in my chair as an old man, with the feeling that i had a great life, not regretting anything.
This fits the lyrics so much more. I like it a lot more actually.
I think the solo sounds particularly great here :D
I just discovered this genre of youtube videos and can't wait to casually play them while my mother, a big fan of 80s music, is around. With no explanation.
Wow, this is way better than I thought it'd be
Still sounds quite melancholic weirdly. Love it!
Even though this is in major scale this is still haunting and melancolic. Very moody- Good work
I'm seriously rediscovering this song thanks to this version. Apart from one particularly sour note, I really love the feeling of longing expressed by this version. I'm even digging the weird diminished chord in the bridge. I've probably listened to it 20 times since I found this video yesterday.
Merry Xmas from: Metallica :3
THIS IS AMAZING! TEARS COME TO MY EYES! MY HEART FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO EXPLODE!!!!
Sounds like a gospel song for atheists XD
Eu I lol
😂😂😂😂
Metallicute :D
Why do y'all hate happiness?
Manubibi Walsh did you even grow up in the 80s?
I actually don't like happy songs that much, I prefer sad songs, even though I never feel sad listening to them.
Happiness hates you
its not that i hate happiness, im just not happy
PLEASE DO SO MANY MORE OF THESE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
2001: we need control of our music
2021.............
You, sir, deserve a medal. And I'm feeling happy.
I never felt so happy hahahaha
I don't like it more than the original, but I do like it as much. A different take on a classic song, uplifting and powerful.
I wonder if Metallica themselves ever did this in the studio/practice room, just for the laughs of it :) This sounds really great though...
Wow... so beautiful... a whole new take on an already beautiful song! Thank you very very much!
sounds like new age music. I can totally picture Enya or a gregorian choir singing it :D
amazing concept. very unexpected
I think this version worked quite well, and I love the original. This one contains more hope, even though some of the sadness is still there. I've played this myself over and over again, so it was very nice to hear it like this. Good job!

They sound happy.
Indeed 😊
Just love this ,gentle and soothing great for my day so far.
Still love this
sounds like the intro music to a spaghetti western
the unforgiven? ;)
This is brilliant!
i don't know why, but i laughed a lot..
Same xD
I love the way that diminished chord resolves to the tonic in the chorus
What minute and second in the video are you referring to?
Oket Oket the E flat diminished chord in the chorus starts at 2:08, they play it 3 times in the chorus and it finally resolves on E major at 2:20
What are feeling rising in me, forming in my eyes?
That solo was so cool. Loved it!
The alternate universe where James and Lars are a couple. ❤❤❤
Absolutely beautiful, I can't love this song any more!
The intro now sounds very much like the intro to "Hey Dude" by Beatallica. Almost as if they based it on this version of Nothing else Matters. Anyone else who hears the same?
Kiiind of
It's kind of...compellingly beautiful. Damn you uploader for making Metallica pleasantly emotional!
except for 3:15
I don't know much about music so forgive me, but I feel it turned to a happy song lol
That's pretty much what they did. :)
To put in layman's terms:
Major key = happy sound
Minor key = sad sound
Justin Osborne
Totally, this is for disney
I don't agree major makes everything happy. For example, G major and C# major are sad, while their minor parallels are happy. A G major song like "Making Love Out of Nothing at All" by Air Supply is sadder than the G minor "I Spit on Your Grave" by Sinergy.
@@T0rturephile What? Where do you get that from?
You are a genius. I like Metallica again. Thanks. THANKS.
Nothing Matters except for my personal relationship with my savior, Jesus Christ.
Ahh, the power of Melodyne! Excellent work here :)
1:10 Why did you do this to my song?
This is...... BEAUTIFUL!!
sounds like a christmas love ballad
One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard
It sounds like a song that you would play to a film ending
As a songwriter this took me out of my Metallica comfort zone and really allowed me realize how well written this song is in general like all the subtle little tension resolution moments throughout I'm able to hear now. 🤘🏾
It feels like it's a gospel song :D Ahahahaha nice!
Indeed, I can almost hear choirs in the background.
@@IHeartNoise oh yeah, "Hallelujah!" :-D
This is incredible, great job with the melodyne, should have been a pain in the ass to change every note as the scale, congrats!
