So that word "patina" applies to leather too eh. Thanks :) And leather always patinas really nice :) its almost a waste of time to condition it because its going to break in anyways :)
I love the look of this bag, and the apparent functionality, but I notice that the front cover flap has a zippered pocket inside, with the zipper up top, and there's no cover over it, nor any soft cloth "flap" covering the pens in the loops. I am concerned that the zipper might scratch the caps of the pens in the loops, especially if the bag is "squashed" between two heavier bags during travel. Have you noticed any problem with this, and if so, is there a fix for it (short of using a small towel as a makeshift "cloth flap" to protect the pens)?
I was gifted this bag in "Crazy Forest Green" ... I'm still pondering on what I could carry in it...my pens ... some art supplies.... my journal... small books.... It's a beautiful bag... love the weathered look. Perfect for the eclectic in all of us.
OMG loved this video (and the bag too). Your repartee is perfect. Hilarious! I love the contrast in how you packed the bags and it gave me a real idea of what it would fit, either neatly (Drew's) or in challenged mode (Brian's), because I can go either way depending on the mood/day. The background stories about Brian's packing exploits and tendencies, as told by both, make a sales video into true entertainment. Bravo!
People always look at me like I’m crazy when I “turtle” but I’m not crazy, I’m big brain and efficient and they are just jealous they didn’t think about it first 😌😂 feels good to know I’m not the only one who can’t pack light. There’s a mantra I pack by that my parents taught me: it’s better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it!
Great review, my jaw dropped when you dropped it open!! I have an old pair of Colorado Aviator Boots in 'crazy horse' leather and they are divine (worn constantly for about ten years) and this would are a great match... lol once the exchange rate improves (I'm in Australia!)
I think it is beautiful. But open it while you wearing it, everything is falling out of the front flap. The insert pockets should be upside down or zip secured. Closing part of the leather should be hardened or with a metal part to slide easy under the narrow leather strap. I see some like this self made in the larp community. Easy to make and here in Germany leather raised extremely in price in the last year's, but you can made it for half the price or even lower yourself. Magnets are ok, but we have a extra leather strap to secure.
A small clipboard would fit in beautifully. I found an A5-ish size one at WalMart during back-to-school time. An office supply store would probably have that year round.
Vintage pens are a bit outside our knowledge wheelhouse. Plus, 'used' fountain pens can open up a whole can of worms. Montblanc exclusively deals with retailers with a brick and mortar presence, which we don't have. Would love if that policy changed down the line. - Colin
The fact that Brian's "little" writing bag has more pens in it than my entire collection is insane.
Lol rite.
The immediate response of "I call it turtleing" was priceless
Actually it sort of sounds obscene.
Not a great year for carry bags since I’m not going anywhere but boy do I really want this
I believe the word you are looking for regarding the exterior wear is “patina”. These bags will look amazing in a few weeks or months of use (YMMV).
So that word "patina" applies to leather too eh. Thanks :)

Drew, I'm pretty sure you mean "na zdaroviye," not "do svidaniya." The first one means "cheers" but the other means "good bye"!
Which I believe actually translates to "be seeing you".
That bag looks so cool. Drew looks like he constantly has fun!!
We really need to get a petition going for a full-sized messenger bag style version of this product.
Just finding this video. You two are something else. Love it.

Thank you, Brian and Drew. Unfortunately I would never use this but it is so lovely that I am thinking of it for storage and display of pens.
Drew looks like he is ready to yodel with his medic bag on his back!
I have the green one, I love it! One question, though, how do you carry it as a backpack? The straps in that configuration are not long enough!
This medic bag is turtley awesome!
That looks a bit like those bags that pony express riders threw over their shoulders before galloping off.
LOL, you guys are so fun! Love Galen, thanks for the in depth view!

Very interesting product. Thanks for the fun review!
Ordered mine today from you guys! I can’t wait to get it! 💜

Hey guys, great review! What thickness is this leather?
"I know 43 people." Bwahahaha!
You know those shoulder bags like Leonard and Sheldon use? Mine was made by the Swiss Army knife people.
Great overview. Question: What model is the Purple pen in the Medic Bag? I don't recognize it. Thanks!
If you carry a big messenger bag with one big compartment, it would make a really cool organizer inside it!
Or even in a rolltop backpack
Cool bag, thanks for the tour!
Soooooo...on the wish list! This is happening for me in 2020. 😁
That is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen..... but will probably have to DIY one🤔
🐢turtling. lol. 😄
How long is the strap? That measurement is not on the website.
It's a cool design, but by not accommodating an A4 tablet/notebook it's misses the mark as a writer's bag, IMO.
There's a larger version out now that can from what Galen Leather put out this year.
Will they come in other colors besides brown and green? Like dark brown or reddish brown?
As of now, these are the only two color offerings. If they have continued success, we may see more colors down the line. - Colin
Drew should wear that as a backpack always. lol
You miss the important question, for those who might carry notebooks in them and get caught in the rain. Are they waterproof?
Based on that wallet, I would say a steady cache of coins should be readily available in Drew's washing machine filter.
Don’t mind me, I’m just adding yet another Galen Leather item to my wishlist 😆
Could y'all do a video on the new Glimmer inks? I'm sure many would love to see them
Which new inks in particular? The Colorverse Glistening? I can add that to our video queue. - Colin
I live to be entertained by you guys!🤣
I want that bag!!!!
Gavoritchi Po Ruski, Drew? (Hard to do without a Cyrillic keyboard!
I wonder if you could configure the strap as a "backpack," but cinch it up and use it as a bike bag
I didn’t understand the brand of TNs, one was Traveler’s factory and the other?
The one Drew was using? That was from Franklin-Christoph: www.franklin-christoph.com/collections/notebook-covers - Colin
I’m in love! 💙

They have a larger model now
"It's not a purse! It's European!" :D
I just got mine!! @patspens Can't wait to bring it to the #lapenshow2020
This looks like a great bag but without a writing surface it’s probably a non starter for me.
A small clipboard would fit in beautifully. I found an A5-ish size one at WalMart during back-to-school time. An office supply store would probably have that year round.
Lara Croft backpack ;)
Da zvidanya?
That’s not far from the price of a single pen case from MontBlanc. Goes to show how overpriced that brand is.
Why don't you carry vintage pens and why not into selling Montblanc?
Vintage pens are a bit outside our knowledge wheelhouse. Plus, 'used' fountain pens can open up a whole can of worms. Montblanc exclusively deals with retailers with a brick and mortar presence, which we don't have. Would love if that policy changed down the line. - Colin
they look nice. They are attractive. But for 200.00, they would be for a different niche than mine.
"distressed leather"
