Hey Mike, thanks for the wonderful reviews, i like the price and quality of the 40 pen case as well. One thing i would recommend for the Rhodia pad holder is to buy $1 or $2 rubber stickies for the bottom that are bigger than the screws sticking out so it doesn't rock/tilt or scratch surfaces; it may get a second iteration, so good on you for pointing it out in the video but my suggestion may be a cheap temp fix for it. God bless you and Happy New Year!
Hey, Mike. Thanks for reviewing some Galen Leather products. It was good to see some of their stuff that I have considered but haven't bought yet. My first order was directly from them in Istanbul and I have placed additional orders from Vanness and Goulet "in-country" so to speak. My order-followup e'mails with Zeynep went back and forth a few times and she was entirely delightful each time. VERY good experience and, in my experience, their products have been top notch every time; well built, useful and quite attractive. I never met any of them other than e'mail, but Zeynep's passing hit kinda hard after having read her back-story and corresponded a few times. Bravo to Yusuf and crew for carrying on so well afterwards. Yes. Good products. All my best to them.
It turns out that it’s a specific type of leather with a specific treatment. Lots of companies use it in high end gear. www.galenleather.com/blogs/news/crazy-horse-leather#:~:text=What%20is%20Crazy%20Horse%20Leather,hair%2C%20nothing%20else%20is%20removed.
Hi Mike! Thanks for sharing this! Their products are beautiful! The noteboard looks awesome, really amazing! I have an idea you could try, about those screws poking at the back of the board. You could buy a sheet of wool felt, cut it so that is just a little smaller than the size of the board, and cut holes for the screws. This way the screws will not touch the table, and the felt also protects surfaces. I don't know how thick the screws are, but you probably can find a piece of felt that is thicker them. 😊👍
Thanks for this review! I've never seen that pen box before. It's beautiful. (The F-C Panther is fab too! Love the pop of turquoise "flake" acrylic against the shiny black acrylic. So pretty!)
Very nice overview! Also: 1) Mahogany, across the board (har); 2) The A5 and "Regular" (tall and skinny, tan) Notebook sets come with a leather blotter and line guide insert (I especially like the blotter); 3) DC Pen Show pricing was lower than online pricing. :-)
Thanks! I thought I paid a bit less than I was seeing on the various sites, but blamed it on faulty memory. I just got the notebooks as singles, so I didn’t get the extra stuff. I’ve inclusions, though.
I just bought a 5 pen case and give you a shout out about how great the video was in helping me to decide on which case to buy. Keep making awesome content.
Before purchasing any item from Galen Leather please make sure you are aware of the shipping costs. Despite my invoice including the cost of shipping, the delivery company UPS requested a further £30 English pounds before I was allowed my parcel. Make sure you make enquiries before purchasing! I was advised by Yusuf that this is mentioned on their website. Clearly I had missed that section. I advise you to be careful. The product I purchased is lovely. It is a shame that it has been ruined for me paying a lot more money than expected. I will make it my mission to ensure that everyone is aware on all social platforms. I know I can’t be the first to suffer from this!
Wow! Is that a customs duty or something? I certainly didn't have that issue in the USA. (Also, worth noting that we can't hold Galen responsible for charges from the shipper or the country that the goods are being delivered to.)
@@inkdependence i don’t buy into not holding Galen responsible. I’m sure they are fully aware of the additional charges. So they think that I would be happy to spend an additional £30 to buy one of their products? ? It is a classic example of not really caring for their customers. They have the money. What happens after that they don’t really care. It appears not to be an issue for the U.S which is good. For the U.K and other European countries it seems to be a different case.
This is VAT. It is payable in the UK on most goods including imported goods . Clearly explained on Government websites. It is our responsibility to check out the rules, not the vendor. Though in this case they did but Colin didn’t bother to read that bit. Colin’s mission seems rather ill directed. I mean he could start a campaign in the UK against VAT. But there again VAT is what helps pay for amongst other things the NHS, the free vaccination Colin will be offered at some point, his state pension when it’s due, his furlough payments should he have received any etc etc etc.
@@janscott9151 thanks for your response. I didn’t know all that. It’s so important that we have feedback from people like you that really understand what is going on. How silly of me for having to pay double for the retail price. How silly for me bringing this to everyone’s attention. Jan forgot to take on board my standard of education. Jan forgot to understand that I’ve worked all my life and paid taxes with little need from the NHS and no furlough. Jan forgot to get off his soap box and stop moaning about someone voicing his opinion. Before buying anything from Galen, make sure you run it past Jan first.
I AM OBSESSED WITH GALEN SO GLAD MORE PEOPLE KNOW ABOUT THEM.

Hi Mike, Crazy Horse was a very famous war chief of the Lakota Indians. I think Galen is comparing their leather to him as lasting and tough.

Thank you, Mike. Their product range is beautiful and widening.
I loved everything! I've looked at them for years but I finally placed my first order.
I've been lusting for the 5-pen carry case (in Crazy Horse) since DC. The quality of their products is clear. They're inspirational in many ways.
I love Galen's products too... That portfolio caught my eye! Thanks for the great review😊

Oh yeah, I still use this box all the time. It's got three Tactile Turn seasonal pens in it right now.
Thank you for this video. Either I missed it but the price of the 40 pen case wasn't mentioned

That made me sound like Yoda😕
Thank you for this video! I'll have to add some felt padding or something to the bottom. Any wobbling is gonna bother me.
Good review. I like their stuff too. Stay warm in Philly.
8:02 Mike was staying hydrated before it was cool. 💁♀️
Well, ya gotta stay hydrated.
Thank you for this overview!
If you said it and I missed it, my apologies.....but, what size of notebook are you using in this case? Would an A6 size notebook fit?
It's an A5 sized case, so the A6 would definitely fit, though it would look quite small.
Hi senior
Hello!👋🏽
First comment again! I am a quick fan!
Checkbook?? 😂
