O wow! Regarding my soap that did not harden, I thought that perhaps it was not done mixing and used my stick blender for a couple of seconds.... this did the trick. I will use this wonderful recipe again and again. Smells great with a little geranium essential oil.
I tried my aloe vera soap making yesterday and it came out just fine. Seeing it this morning i was so happy. Thank you for your tutorial. The issue is that I'm not sure of the saponification value of PKO, but i used 0.155 to calculate it. Please, what is the actual saponification value of PKO? Thanks.
thanks for sharing you videos!, its so helpful!i had an aloe vera plant in our balcony and coconut oil but i still need to buy sodium hydroxide. just wondering hiw long the soap will last?? Your aloe vera looks nice!!❤
You cannot make a soap without sodium hydroxide. If you want to skip it, use a soap base. Melt the soap base and add Aloe vera gel. The only issue with it is that you cannot add too much aloe vera because it will make your soap soft like dough.
@@TheAloeVeraGarden ohh I see, thanks for enlightening me the more. However, can I use an already made soap like dove or any other and add the aloe vera gel to it, have you try this before?
Yes, the saponification value of coconut oil RBD is 0.183 multiply it with 400g of coconut oil, you'll get a result of 73g, which will be your caustic soda.
If you use essential oil, check first the dermal limits of your essential oil to prevent skin irritation. If you are using fragrance oil, you can use 1% to 3% depending on how strong you want the scent on your soap.
Yes, different oils have different saponification values. If you want to use different oils, you can check it here: www.fromnaturewithlove.com/resources/sapon.asp
@@TheAloeVeraGarden hiya thanks so much for the video - really clear, I'm excited to try it. We have olive oil from our own trees so would prefer to use that instead of coconut oil. Looking at the chart you gave the link to I think that makes the recipe: 170gms Aloe vera juice, 73gms Sodium Hydroxide, 540gms olive oil. Does that sound right to you?
Please, I have a question. 1.....can I add my NAOH into the aleo vera without freezing it. 2.....If I'm going to be using like 2 different oils, how do I go about the saponification? Thank you sir.
Yes, you can add NAOH without freezing the Aloe vera. If you use two or more different kinds of oils, find the saponification value of each oil. Example, For a 1 kilogram of oil, you want to use 500g of coconut oil, 300g of Olive, oil and 200g of Sunflower oil. Find the saponification value of each of the oils and then multiply it by the amount of each oil. 500g coconut oil x 0.183 = 91.5g NaOH; 300g Olive oil x 0.135 = 40.5g NaOH; and 200g Sunflower oil x 0.136 = 27.2g NaOH. Lastly, add all the NaOH which are 91.5+40.5+27.2=159.2g of NaOH.
Actually mas effective ang whole leaf, lalo na kapag kasama talaga yong balat at hindi filtered. May video ako sa susunod na kasama talaga ang balat. Hindi siya makati kasi wala naman yong latex, na removed na.

Wonderful!
I've tried this one time, I only used a commercial soap which I melted then added the aloe gel. It actually worked out.
dope video. i love how you used a recycled cardboard boxed lined with plastic. so resourceful
Wow. I have made soap and have wondered how to add aloe to the mix. Thank you!
Very nice video, lovely soap. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you too!

Interesting, I have always peeles the skin off before blending. Will have to try this with a tiny batch

Looks so interesting ... wish there is a substitute for lye ! Is there ?

That is very helpful, I will definitely try it but can we also make bosywash from aloe Vera and how ?
Yes you can, i'll post next time.
👌
Nice video please tell the substitute of sodium hydroxide
There is no substitute for sodium hydroxide.
its harmful and trying to understand why every1 is using it
No soap without sodium hydroxide
This is amazing.
Can i skip the sodium hydroxide, any other alternative ?

My soap is still soft. Is the coconut oil measurement of 400g correct? If so I recon that the problem lies with my caustic soda.

Sori...if given essential oil or fragnance how many milliliters/grams?.thanks🙏🙏

Helps my hair to grow.
You can use this for your hair.
Great video thanks!! Does is matter what type of coconut oil you use? 😁
Not at all, all coconut oil almost has the same saponification value.
45 mins, that's why I use a stick blender 🤣
😅😅😅 yeah, but not all people has one.
What is the ratio of gel to lye to oil??? Is there a set value to be calculated when using coconut oil and animal fat??? Thanks for sharing.

Can we order aloe vera plant from you?
I would love to just give you but you're too far from where I am.
If you only use coconut oil, isn't that too harsh for your skin? Unless use higher percentages of super fat, like 20%
Pls show me how you came by the measurements
The measurement is in the description.
@TheAloeVeraGarden is it by manual calculation, or you used soap calc?
Doesn't coconut oil melt and the soup become watery when it's in a hot environment like bathroom window
Soap made with coconut oil is the hardest soap compared with other oils.
Can l find sodium hydroxide in shops?
Can you send material list
Google aloe Vara soap making on UA-cam, you don't want to make it with commercial soap
400 grams coconut oil
170 grams Aloe vera whole leaf juice
73 grams sodium hydroxide
Ok I don’t have sodium
👍👍👍🙏❤💐
If that is so harmful so will it not be harmful for skin when use sodium hydroxide
After saponification, there's no more sodium hydroxide in the finish product.
And wait for 4 to 6 weeks to cure
Actually, less than 4 weeks. Soap made with pure aloe vera cures faster. You can even use it after a week.
