Hi! I know it's been months since you posted this question, and although I'm not the YTber in the video, I thought I would provide some guidance. I have used guar gum in place of xanthan gum, and it works just fine when making gel. Particularly in the 2nd recipe from Little DIY's channel. I'm looking to try locust bean gum soon and see what happens with that! Can't say I thought of cornstarch, though. Happy gelling! 😁
@kainatrajpoot8808 Hmmmm, do you mean ACTUAL chia seeds or could someone use ground chia? Also, I, for one, have tried to use agar agar before, the gel didn't gel up nearly as thick as needed. What do you think? Would more than a 1 to 1 ratio possibly work?

Hi there, we've been making some Aloe vera gel of our own thanks to this. Do you know how we can stop the gel from browning after a few months? Oxidation I believe is the cause of it browning
There are some things you can do to prevent it. Use an opaque container and store in a cooler temperature. You can also add ascorbic acid to the mixture as preservative at the same time, preventing discoloration. Citric acid also will help but not as good as ascorbic acid.
I wonder if you can just blend it with thick castor oil instead of using xanthan gum? Castor oil is itself a potent healer and is often a cosmetics base....

Hello I am from India Can I use gelatin powder because that's the easily accessible product ? If yes please help me by saying how to make the aloe gel with gelatin?
How long does it last exactly refrigerated and non refrigerated? In some of the comments I saw refrigerated up to 2 months, some said 2 weeks. What preservatives can I used to extend its life? Can I used grapefruit seed extract? I appreciate any tips, thanks! 🙏🏽😁
It really depends on how you handle the gel. If you dip your fingers into it, it wouldn't last long, probably a week in the refrigerator. But, if you use a spoon, it can last up to a month or even 2 months. I have gel in the refrigerator that lasts that long. Aloe vera gel contains antibiotic and antifungal compounds that can potentially delay or inhibit microorganisms that are responsible for deterioration and spoilage. It has compounds that acts as preservative itself. If you prepare aloe vera gel for personal use, there is no need for preservative because it will be consumed before it deteriorates. But if you are planning to sell your gel, you have to use a good preservative that are sold in commercially.
Can we add preservative to have long shelf life? Your advice please. I'm commercially making Aloe Vera gel with carbomer and would like to make with xantham gum for selling.

Can you add glycerine instead of xanthin gym ? Please reply
Glycerin does not thicken the gel. Glycerin is used to speed up the hydration process of xanthan gum.
How long does it take without refrigerator?
So is there any alternative for xanthan gum or I can skip this?
Xanthan gum is used to thicken the gel, you can also use guar gum or carbomer with a ph adjuster. You can skip it if you don't want a thicker gel.
