An Incredible documentary style tier list of FPS games from the 90's! You did a great job on discussing what each particular game did for the genera, and how they pioneered things that are staples of not only first person shooters, but modern games as whole (Environment interaction, etc) Some constructive criticism that I do have would to add timestamps. Furthermore having only gameplay as footage gets boring on the eyes quickly. If open to suggestions, adding some form of character, text or other visual stimuli would help with retention! Regardless, great video!
I'm trying to find a 90s fps, but I can't recall the name. It was much similar to doom, duke and blood. The only distinctive features I remember are a somewhat open city map (I played a demo back in 98 I guess) and that enemies could fake surrender and then they shoot you. I remember piles of gore scattered around the map. Does this rings any bells? I would love to play it again.
@@saooran7364 no problem haha! it was the first fps game i ever played. i was a kid visiting a games store and the clerk decided i was old enough to play it. and of course ludicrous gibs enabled XD
It's crazy seeing a list like this not featuring Half-Life. I don't mean that as an offense or anything, just genuinely surprised. Also, I agree with the list.

Thank you for the ideas. I really appreciate it

Rise Of The Triad, perhaps? I know the Lightning Guards sometimes beg for mercy, though it is not really a city as such.
@@vostyok6030 thanks dude, going to check !

@@vostyok6030 God bless 90's adults with poor judgement, right? Hahahahaah
Its interesting who made most of those games, and it was really wolfenstein 3d that got me into FPS.
I was a teenager then. My list: 5-Wolfenstein 3D, 4-Doom I/II, 3-Duke Nukem 3D, 2-Quake, 1-Half-Life
good vid by the intro already dub tee eff
A bit surprised Wolfenstein 3D didn't make the list.
