@thaigirlgiftforeignerjoe7774 Thanks for the information, Joe. we've already retained David's services from Thai Legal. Ta and I have been planning to relocate to Thailand since 2019 when her mom's Alzhiemer condition began to deteriorate, but that'snot the only reason, we just simply love it there. Additionally, we've accomplished many necessary documentation protocols such as marriage certification, banking services, medical insurance, although she's covered under my retirement benefits in the States and US territories, visa requirements and a rental residence contract for the next two years while we procure land and start construction on our house. We are not influenced nor encouraged by anyone to relocate to another country, and we strongly suggest that anyone contemplating such a move to "do your homework " as we've been doing for the past six years. Paying down debts, saving up, making trips to Thailand, spending time there not only with family and friends but during the different seasons to familiarize myself with the environment, culture and ways of the Thai people. None of this is achieved through vacation visits," You have to live it guys!" Yes Joe and Gift have a wonderful life in Thailand but it is not without its challenges and I've been coming to Thailand since 2015 when I met my wife Ta ! So please 🙏 take my advice and do diligence in studying your relocation well before you make that move because it could cost you ! As I said I've been traveling to Thailand frequently for ten years and have a lot of experience dealing with the government, people and cultures in a positive way of course ! Preparations aside, Ta and I thought this through four years ago and researched every contingency moraly, financially, health wise as well as many other aspects pertaining to our lives. We're confident and comfortable in our choice but let it be known this was a decision that took years to make. So for those who watch videos like Joe and Gift and are considering relocating to Thailand or even another country please 🙏 take our and Joe's advice and "Do your homework " before making that move !!
Can't take the rejection on AirBNB personally. A lot of content creators have been misbehaving badly in Asia lately so I can understand not wanting anything to do with them at a property. There are also OF and all that crap going on too, and I imagine that is very illegal in Thailand.
Air BnB is illegal in Thailand for short time rental less than one month, may be that's the reason they rejected you as they like to stay under the radar of the authorities.
That's definitely what it was. They got spooked. Especially if it's in a condo building there is a hefty fine if they get caught. They usually send a list of rules. Number one is don't go to the front desk for anything. Call the landlord directly.
Such a busy time for all of you !! So happy you're making the best memories for next year's video, your first anniversary !! I wish we could all be there now to enjoy this with you folks but am Thankful for your wonderful shares...xx oo grammy
I Just drove down from PKK to Ranong and stayed 2 days I got all the info for the border crossing. You have people from Phuket and other areas like PKK who do this all the time. Speed boat was 2,400 baht per person road trip. It takes about 40 minutes to do the visa process. The peer is called Grand Andaman Pier in Ranong. Immigration is just down the street. When I arrived today the two guys working at the peer counter who book you high speed boat said that they had a big group from Phuket come up earlier. They have a casino I always heard about on the Myanmar side but it is closed until next year sometime. If you wanted to stay a view nights and explore they give you the location to Victoria Cliff Hotel who also can coordinate a speed boat to go back to Thailand, Ranong.
I usually maintain my Thai wife/family one year VISA, but this year I couldn't make it back in time (was in the U.S. working) to renew. So I had to do a border run a couple of days ago to get another 60 days on my exemption stamp. My wife and I drove from Buriram to the Chong Chom/O'Smach border of Cambodia. It was a bit nerve wracking to be honest, as I already had two exemption stamps in my passport for this year by air (Suvarnaphumi airport). I knew that you get two land crossings per year, but you know it works with the "disgretion" aspect of the power they give to the local immigration officer to deny or accept your entry. I arrived at the border and we parked the car in a nearby parking lot and we motorbike taxied over to the border. After getting stamped out, we were greeted with a band of locals wanting to help/facilitate our paperwork. We lucked out and one guy emerged from the crowd speaking english and was the most pleasant and super helpful guy ever. He personally walked us through the entire process of getting my visa into Cambodia and then turning right around and returning back to Thailand. He never asked for a fee... I gave him a huge tip. I got one question at the counter coming back in... the immigration officer only wanted to confirm this was my first time at this land border... I confirmed it was and we were done. The entire process took only about 30 mins.
What up guys ! Silly that ABnB cancelled your res, but some people don't understand the definition of honesty, especially when it's given upfront ! No love loss there bruh... just potential business 😉. Ta and I have been busy cleaning, clearing out junk and boxing things up for shipping to Thailand since we've arrived home right before election day ! The house is going on the market in January right after the holidays and it'll sell fast and then its off to Thailand permanently ! Anyway we wish we could have met before then and we could have come to the wedding but we'll meet someday soon in the near future. I feel I've gotten to know you guys a little over the past years following your adventures but I'm not one to take things for granted as I'm sure neither are you but we're excited about the move to Thailand and can't wait to meet you guys face to face ! Anyway best wishes for your upcoming wedding and we'll send a nice gift.... ooops..... I mean present cause you have the best "Gift" anyone could have already 😂😂 !
It's maybe because Airbnb technically is or was against the law in Thailand for stays of less than 30 days, it's in contravention of the hotels act, which was put into place to protect hotel incomes from private renters. So not unless the law has changed recently the host maybe a bit nervous incase the authorities come knocking at his door. Don't take it personally 👍
Great view...nothing better than being next to the ocean in the early mornings...should be getting chilly down there as well...that's always a chance to wear a hoodie...lol
last year for christmas i took a fast boat from samui to koh tao, never ever in my life. Waves were so high and people around me all sick. Worst time now for the islands
How about this for a novel idea of a border run. I was looking at a map of the gulf of Thailand and came across this by pure chance, the island of Phu Quoc, Vietnam. It has an international airport, looks interesting, and a nice place, quite relaxed and cheaper than Thailand by the looks of it.
I'm guessing they may have had previous "content creators" trying to blag a discount or maybe gave a bad review. Or perhaps they don't have a hotel licence and don't want the authorities to know what they're doing either for tax or visa reasons
Just a lot going on this year so we (Soi Little America), decided this year we will celebrate Christmas dinner together in lure of Thanksgiving dinner.

I went to Prajub looking for your home, wouldn't be able to see it. Just wanted to say hello I been living in LA for a long time. No way I will live in your place due to the heat and rain.
Regarding that beach property. I had thought all of the land directly along every inch of shoreline/beach in Thailand was owned by the Kingdom up to a certain point. Since you bought and sold your own beach house perhaps you can explain the technicalities.
Our understanding is that it depends on the distance between the home and the shore line. They would have had to get a building permit, so I’m assuming in that location of the Bay where there land sits, it’s legal. Also, our understanding is the marine department would have had to authorize the building permit as well.
@ Such land laws in Thailand are indeed confusing, for instance on Thai Mueang Beach on the Andeman Sea, the Kingdoms land chaim even extends to property on the land on the far side of the beach road far removed from high tide. I understand that the Kingdoms claims is a rather recent thing from just a few decades ago.
My thought on this. Their fear that if something was not to your liking a video pops up bad mouthing their facility. Two fold problem for them I think. They’ll probably lose bookings and aren’t Airbnb bookings for less than 30 days illegal or is that just Bangkok where I live? Lesson is don’t volunteer any information.
The reason for the airbnb issue is that in Thailand a minimum stay in an airbnb is one month. If your booking for a couple of days the host is breaking the rules. I would guess thats why they did not accept the booking. They probably got scared off with you being youtubers.
