Excellent install! You might consider moving the sediment filter so that it is before the pump. The fine grit can damage that pump and pressure tank, too. Thanks for these videos.

Andrew, you never cease to amaze me, I enjoy watching your projects. I am an old retired guy that is pretty handy on a lot of thing and worked a lot of mega construction jobs, welding engineering, metal fabrication, construction inspector, avid outdoorsman and marksman instructor, but you Sir are so very talented and have a knowledge level so far ahead of the vast majority of so so many. If your UA-cam gig ever stops working for you and an unfortunate situation causes you to have to return to the public workforce, know this. With your skills, the things you could do are too many to mention, e.g. All kinds of Inspector fields, General Contractor Manager, Independent Contractor Consultant, and on and on that you could walk right into and be excellent at from the very beginning, heck, even a Teacher. Your ethics, work ethic and moral character that I see is outstanding (reminds me of me) and harder and harder to find in the messed up world. So many out there are looking for a free ride. Man, you and Tiffany are writing the book on creating your own Ride. Heck, you could probably write a book(s), on many subjects and become a well known author. God Bless You!

If you are hitting rock, it's the limerock layer in Florida, which is bottom of surface water table! Good water but usually a lot of sulfur in water. It is also usually potable at that layer though. Keep that in mind with your filtration system to come. Should also be a reliable water source since all ground water is held here before slowly moving through rock to lower layer. If you drill past this layer you usually have to go down over 100 ft before you hit lower water table which is better water but can be high in iron. Good job!
Andrew, I live in West Central Florida, on deep well water system and we are prone to power outages! Your video just answered all of my emergency water needs questions!! THANK YOU!!!

I am glad to hear you mention sealing around your well. Here in my State it's required to pour a minimum 2'Wx2'L concrete pad and at least 18" deep. We are also required to report its location and purposes to my States Dept of Health if could be possibly used as potable water. I know every state is different in those aspects. People say I don't want the government knowing, however if there is ever a reported problem with ground water they can and have sent out reports for those with wells the information. We can't easily test our water for everything. We can send it off for testing. But our state does free testing for well water users every couple of years if they submit the sample. Great video. I enjoy watching and learning.
That’s a great set up. One thing I would do is before your Dupont filter I would put an in-line mechanical sediment filter in there. They work pretty good especially with getting the sand and the big stuff out and they’re super easy to clean and there’s nothing to replace and even though you’ve got a ton of filters it would save them. I know a lot of people who do large scale water change systems for aquariums and places where they breed fish and have hundreds of aquariums and they save a ton of filters by using a sediment filter before it and it’s completely mechanical so you just take it off and rinse it out and put it back on and never have to replace any filters it’s right here just a mechanical screen system and get the big particles out before they clog up your replaceable filters. It’s also nice because they usually come with Alfredo around the clock a clear canister so you can see it as it fills up before I.
Brilliant Project Andrew.. If the need arises, you can always "Flow Restrict" after the Filter to keep from over Pumping the Point. I installed a 2nd 3/4" Black Pipe to My well head when It was installed for Future Proofing My Water. Either 12 Vdc Etc. Mike M.
I would put a lot of rocks around there so its not all muddy. Your umbrella on the UTV remained me of the pipelinercloud 10' welding umbrella mounted to the back of a golf cart.
Check out the Bosworth Guzzler and similar diaphragm pumps which don't require water to prime. I tee off my shallow well pump to a shutoff valve with a garden hose thread male fitting. I can run any water hose from that but it allows me to connect the Bosworth for priming or power outage use. Next time I'll buy a larger one to play with (their foot operated pumps are popular with boaters). I also stocked my pump house with repair parts and buy water pumps (they are a consumable item) opportunistically. Keep an eye out for blems on sale and for customer returns.
With a little rework of the pipes you could have the hand pump after the electric pump and it primes the electric pump every time you use the hand pump
I'm setting up a systems to irrigate a garden and water certain areas of the property. I'll need a timer applied to this system. What is the water pump type? Is it AC or DC? What type of DC powered pump do you recommend?🤨

Do you know what size pump I would I need to have on my well that is about 200 feet beneath the ground? Hey Man, that was a great tutorial. Keep up the good work. Quick question, was there a reason you settled on a 1HP pump instead of the 1.6HP pumps on Amazon? Seems like a 1.6 would give you a better head depth and not have to work as hard. That might make the pump not pull as much amperage and wattage. That might, I’m really not sure about this, allow you to use a smaller generator. Let me know your thoughts. Keep it up my man. Love seeing Ruger looking all grown up out there too.
Yes the reason was for being able to run on smaller solar equipment. I tried to first install a 3/4 hp pump, but it couldn't quite pull against the head. 1 hp works great and is easy enough to run on my portable power stations and generators.
Can you just go ahead and tell us the model of the solar power station? I tried to look in your other videos to see what it was, but there are various models reviewed so I'm not sure what capacity I need for a similar pump.

Hey Andrew!
Hello!
With a little rework of the pipes you could have the hand pump after the electric pump and it primes the electric pump every time you use the hand pump
Electric pump only needs to be primed once. Only if you ever remove it or drain it will it require priming again.

That’s a wonderful job my brother. How deep is your well?
About 12ft here. Very shallow water table, thus the reason I put it there.
Amazing video. I just finished watching and now I’m a new subscriber.
I am going to try to build this system in Texas. I have more clay then sand. Do you think it’s possible to use the jet to open a bigger hole in the clay ?

I just happened to find you and your video and really enjoyed watching it.
Hand pumps only work to about 15ft. You need a deep well submersible jet pump for your application.
Hi Andrew, Great job. What will you do for freeze protection? Maybe close in the shelter, heat trace, insulation etc. ?
Unscrew the hand pump, open the valve and the water goes underground. Drain the electric pump.
Very cool! Maybe, send the water off and have it checked for organic substances, bacteria, and other organisms. Like many people, I've consumed water directly from streams, lakes, and shallow wells with no ill effects.
Good idea!
If you hang a bucket on the hand pump with a hose coming out the bottom you could prime the electric pump directly with the hand pump
Once primed there's no need to ever prime the electric pump again. Occasionally I'll need to set or prime the hand pump to expand the leather seal.
@The Kelley's Country Life will you drain it for winter? I know yall don't get bad winter, but it still gets frosty.
True, I will drain for winter.
Next time get some used solar panels for the roof and skip putting up the tin. Like the ideal wish I could hit water that easy.
Hi Andrew, great video! Did you need to fill the tank with pressure before installing the well? If so, how much PSI?
No, it came pre set from factory. I don't remember the psi adjustment but it was in the manual.

Andrew really like the setup. Out of pure curiosity have you looked into the simple pump setups any? If so I'd be interested in your opinion on them.
I have not, but I am curious about them as I've seen them on other channels. I need to watch a video on them.
Simple Pumps are very well built! But man oh man, they are costly. It can cost more to buy and install a simple pump than a traditional deep well pump. I was quoted $3k for one. An option is to install the Simple Pump well cap or well seal when you have a deep well pump installed and add the pump later as finances allow.
Take care and God Bless.
Yikes, I didn't realize they were that expensive.
Can I or can I not put some sort of insulation around this assembly for the colder months? If so, what do I use for appropriate insulation?
I'd build an enclosure around it and insulate with foam board.

Here it is, your could be different than mine. amzn.to/3pIp7xl

Quick question, was there a reason you settled on a 1HP pump instead of the 1.6HP pumps on Amazon? Seems like a 1.6 would give you a better head depth and not have to work as hard. Yes Silver Cymbal, his channel link is in the video description.
How many watts is it using?
