- If you ride a Motorcycle in India then it might have been made by an Indian-origin brand, that's because 3 Indian brands lead in the whole world when It comes to selling motorcycles
and this very fact raises a very big question! and that is how Indian 2-wheeler brands are world leaders when Indian car brands are still struggling to retain their position in the top 20 list
The reason behind the Indian 2-wheeler brand's success is INDO-JAPANESE collaborations, and in this video, we are going to learn how these tie-ups made these brands so strong

1, instead of bajaj kawasaki eliminator you told enticer. It was a product of Yamaha.
2, Instead of Ind-Suzuki Ax100 you showed Yamaha rx100.
3, You didn’t mention the collaboration about Escorts and Yamaha
But you have created a very good video, informative content. Thanks bro.

@@ramjswl214 lol same here
I think kawasaki bajaj Boxer was one such remarkable product
Also you forgot to mention that before the Japanese India had Royal Enfield, Escorts had Rajdoot, Yezdi, Bajaj was producing Vespa scooters, m80 etc.
Suzuki Max 100
Not ax100
If you are trying to find out others mistake
Before that make yourself perfect..
I don't think it would have been so easy for the Indian manufacturers to build such good bikes without the help of the Japanese. I also praise the Indian manufacturers for reviving the British brands.❣💯Best wishes from Bangladesh.
Is Yamaha XSR being sell in Bangladesh?
Japanese also learnt from Americans how to make cars
And now Japanese are making better cars than Americans
We learnt from Japanese
Now our bikes are coming on TOP 10 globally
india can now do better .
Almost all automobile indian manufacturers learned from Japanese collaboration
This is certainly one benefit of pre liberalisation era. Otherwise Indian two wheeler market would have been like smartphone market.
RE be like: hum apane dum pe khelta hai.
Now coming to main question... NO, indian bike makers wouldn't stand on their own. Even today they hardly invest into RnD. can see, how much bajaj relies on KTM, TVS sought help from bmw for flagship model, hero has no flagship model. None of them even tried to developed simple air cooled twin cylinder engine like RE.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
They were with Yamaha...
It's literally a british brand😶
Hugte h*
Btw they ain't completely Indian

My brother still keeps his aged Tvs Fiero in tip top condition.
Also its a no match bike in its segment. What a gem bike tvs produced in the collaboration with Suzuki 😍😍😍😍
That fiero engine is used today in tvs apache

The video was very nice. Subscribed you bro. And about your question, the answer according to me is "no". If Japanese brands directly entered Indian market, the most probable outcome would be that the Indian brands at time would've been crushed miserably.

Happy to see that Indian bike manufacturers became independent after learning from Japanese
And became TOP 10 in world
But this didn't happened with Maruti Suzuki
Suzuki purchased Maruti
Because the other partner in Maruti was the indian government who was trying to get out of car manufacturing.
Beaceme independent only because of liberalization. In bikes it was comparatively easier than cars.

Wow so true!!!!!!!!!!! The last line is something I truly needed , See most people just continue to repeat the same upper line ie "learn from the mistakes of othere " but it is also equally important to repeat the last stanza ie "u don't live long enough to make them all urself" .... Thank u very much otherwise I was just focusing in learning things and always feared to applied them in reality
TVS took nice decision by collaborating with suzuki, their single cylinder engine bikes, like apache has great sound, if tvs launches 4 cylinder bike, that bike can have best sound in stock silencer.
My grandfather purchased suzuki samurai back in late 90s (ig), which is still working. But had to put down because of its age and unavailability of spare parts and ofcourse legality of such old vehicles.
Suzuki Samurai was best in class in older days .
Engines are brilliantly efficient in Hero, Honda and Suzuki engines. But the plastic fit and finish quality is terrible and day by day, they are even deteriorating. Saying this from my experience of using Honda SP 125 for nearly two years. But at the same time, my dad's Pulsar 150 doesn't rattle a single bit even after 7years....

Never see such a detailing and research about automobile industry in any Indian UA-cam channel
Hats off from tamilnadu 👍💥
As for the ending question, I don't think indian manufacturers would be this large if they hadn't tied with the japanese or if the economy wasn't closed off in the 80s and the japanese were allowed to do business independently because the need of japanese in the 50s and indians in 80s were similar(as in they needed cheap, economical and reliable bikes). And Japanese manufacturers grew from the commuter segment in the first place, so it wouldn't have been hard for them to rule india as well like the rest of the world.
The only way indian manufacturers could possibly compete with them is through more efficient vehicles than them(that would have been really hard since they would have start from scratch) or focus on a segment that wasn't covered by the japanese(like royal enfield).
Though I am very fond japanese machines from the likes of honda and yamaha, It's amazing how indian companies have achieved new heights even after their split and are now competing internationally.
Our 1999 Red Bajaj Kawasaki Caliber gave 95/-kmpl on those days and has Kawasaki engine.❤️miss my Bike⭐
Loved how the big Japanese 4 destroyed the British 🙏 but there is a confusion in the bajaj case isn't the bajaj boxer's engine not from kawasaki and another chart topping bajaj export models like dominar and the ns aren't they made with the help of KTM which is european brand 🤔
Exactly. He's getting poor at research these days
@@raviniranjan5707 True plus the 200ns isn't even a duke either it has a different head triple spark SOHC and the earlier carburettor versions where duke is single spark DOHC, NS has a different frame altogether which is a twin spar where as duke has trellis plus I own a bs3 200ns it's exhaust way different from bs4 n bs6 which has more sweet whistling note
Actually Dominar sells under Kawasaki in some countries.
Earlier Pulsars were based on Japanese tech ,after Bajaj got stake in KTM ,they used KTM engines in modern Pulsars,
Technically Bajaj owns KTM
He is talking about initial phase which is true . Bajaj collaborated with Vespa a Italian brand for side engined scooter which was top selling scooters. Legendary Chetak carried vespa engine s for hurt some time .But there bike segment hot boost only after collaboration with Kawasaki .
Bro your work is just unbelievable ❤️🔥
Anything might have happened but not so quickly. Fresh examples are Tata's and Mahindra's, which have not taken too much help from established brands but were able to pull off their products with extensive R&D and best in class materials and safety. However, we should always be thankful for these joint ventures who helped these Indian companies enormously.
Yes i think it is the Japanese who helped us to evolve indian 2wh manufacturers and create a R&D centers for 2whs.

Still Indian bike manufacturers are way behind their Japanese counterparts . Japanese brands have bigger cc engine bikes in their segment while Indian brands can't able to do so . Indian brands can't able develop 2 , 3 or 4 cylinder engines or above 500cc or more above bikes (except Royal Enfield) . But Japanese have bigger bikes like Hayabusa , GSX R-1000R , GSX S-1000 , Intruder M-1800R , V-Storm 1050 , GSX S-1000 GT , GSX S-750 , GSX R-650 , MT-09 , MT-07 , MT-10 , R6 , R7 , R1M , Super Terner , Bolt , CBR-1000 RR-R Fireblade SP , CB 1000R , Goldwing , Africa Twin , Rebel 1000 , Rebel 1100 DCT , Rebel 500 , Valkyrie , CBR 650R , CB600R , Vulcan , Z-1000 , ZX-14R , ZX-10R , H2 , H2R , H2 SX , Zh2 , Ninja 1000 , Z-900 , Z-800 , Z-650 , ZX-6R , Versey 1000 , Versey 700 etc . But Indian brands like TVS , Bajaj , Hero don't have such kind of bikes (except Royal Enfield which have twin cylinder 650cc bikes like Super Meteor 650 , Interceptor 650 & Continental GT 650) .
Hello Bhai as per my view these Indian companies can't be on top without Japanese companies contributions. I own two BSA motorcycle till made and for me they kind of mechanical engineering marvels. Japanese are initially using only two stroke engines which lead them to be winner.

DTSI koi bahut barhi baat nahi thi, ek k jagah, 2 spark plugs laga diye bas, isse engine k ander hone vale double sparks k vajah se Combustion thoda or achcha ho gaya, Engine thoda or fuel efficient and powerfull ho gaya. Baaki Bajaj ki Guaranty varanty hi bata deti hai ki Bajaj apne bikes ko banate time kesa raw material use karti hai. Bajaj Bikes are good for Show off and stunts, but not good for long term use like HeroHonda Bikes was.
Noew Hero Moto Corp also Downgraded their quality after breaking up with honda, this is the main reason why Hero Moto Corp fails to sale their Premium Segment Bikes.

Yamaha's partnership with escorts wasn't mentioned and that Bajaj KB series and 4s boxer series bikes were not mentioned either and also tvs bringing in more first in segment technologies to india only started off in the last 6-8 years only before that it was Bajaj Pulsar which was on the top when it came to bringing first in India or segment firsts in India from 2002-2018 and that tvs always followed Bajaj in this regard and even tried to copy or emulate the same. But now TVS have changed drastically and it's Bajaj who has gone lazy (due to their brand positioning strategies with KTM, Husqvarna etc... But that's a story for another time...) and that tvs even though they are offering gimmicky stuff at times, they're still offering something fresh and first in class.
Agar Japanese company Nahin Hoti to TVS aur Bajaj to survive kar lete lekin Hero Kabhi survive nahin kar pati
I think after 5 years Tata and Mahindra will capture more than 50 per cent of Indian Market
Right now mahaindra has to up their production or else they will loose opportunity. They need to make atleast 1lackh per mohth
Mahindra don't make small cars , so it's hard to achieve

17-18 months of waiting period for vehicle is unacceptable many people (including me) away from looking for a mahindra.
Pair that with tata having capacity but refusing to spend RnD for refining their engines and absolutely horrible spare part availability. Suzuki and Hyundai are the only two options left for indian buyers looking for good quality reliabile cars in India 🥲
A thrust which Japanese motorcycle had given initially; without it Indian companies would have taken years to stand in the position they are in. Example comparing Indian two-wheeler with four-wheeler companies.
I don't think the Indian Brands would've come this far without Japanese and If the Japanese brands waited for little longer and came in India after the Globalization of India then they would hv been kings of Indian 2wheeler Industry knocking out All Indian Brands.

Slight Correction here : Kawasaki Bajaj made Eliminator
Enticer was a Yamaha product.
yeah, Eliminator was there back then.... Avenger still has some styling of Eliminator
Japanese brands definitely gave a jump start to Indian brands. I think the policies back then forced them to tie-up with Indian brands to enter the Indian market which definitely was huge. No offense, but without all those collabs, these brands wouldnt be where they are now.
Indian brands are way better than Chinese low-cost bike manufacturers but they need to spend more time and money on R&D to get better coz even till now, Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki etc have higher level of engine refinement and reliability.
Indian brands also need to use better components coz even Indian-made Yamaha and Suzuki have better components than Bajaj or TVS do, so its obvious there are good suppliers already in India.
