Of all the Smash UA-camrs, I think I find Nairo's tournament analysis the most entertaining
Not gonna lie, I really enjoyed watching Sonix during this top 8. He was playing SUPER aggressive, and that's what I wish Sonic was in this game. Also, I like that Tilde placed 3rd, as someone who's currently maining Falco at the moment. Im glad I got to watch the top 8 before I said anything negative about Sonix. He really deserved the win here, and I'll respect the Gameplay.
I would say he was more aggressive than he usually is, but he still had a balance of staying back because he was still doing a lot of spin dashes. I think the reason we feel this way is because the top 8 opponents were using fast characters too, to a certain extent, so they could keep up. I think that's why his playstyle was perhaps a bit more aggressive.

I like how Nairo appreciates every players ways of playing! He knows that in tournament, you got to do what you got to do! Love this video!
Huge props to Atreus for making it to top 8 and giving us some tournament palutena play, but after watching Nairo COOK with palu for years, seeing Atreus drop stuff that Nairo hits every time is strange. Like dtilt 2frame to backair, dair spikes on falco's recovery.
Nairo’s consistency is the reason why he was a top 10 player for years.
The f smash at 3:41 looks like a banana throw, but tweek didn't realize he didn't have the banana.
No, I think it was the mixup to try to catch Kazuya running in for the banana
Actually yeah it looked like he landed and tried to pick it up and immediately throw it, I didn't catch that
@@jerkstown2231 Tweek is a very safe player. He doesn't go for those. I think he tried to z grab the banana as he rolled to the right, although he failed to pick it up.

I always felt he was the most aggressive Sonic and I think that new side B technique is why he can be more aggressive than before.

For anyone wondering, falco has kill confirms all the way to like 160. Up tilt bair works on palu until like 110, dair bair should work until 140 in addition to up tilt up air, and after that side b up air/dair up air will work even at 160

Sonix has been one of my inspiration to play Sonic ever since I got smash ultimate in late 2020. He’s been showing these past few events that he could potentially be a top 5 player . Congratulations sonix 👍

With the exception of Sonic (and in some peoples opinions Kazuya), this top 8 had a bunch of sick ass characters. Palu, Fox, Cloud, Falco... this is the top 8s I like to see as a spectator.
Sonic is a cool character it’s just the way tournaments work sometimes camping is more viable. But Sonix was playing pretty aggressively
True, i gotta give it to Sonix this tournament. In several of the matchups like Rob and Aegis, it seems like he's super comfortable fighting those characters and was going ham. its just the memories of 45 minute best of 5 sets from him that leave a bad taste in my mouth sometimes.

I don't care how much you hate Kazuya. Riddles got top 8 at TWO tournaments at the same time, he fought Zomba immediately after fighting Dee Jay in SF6, that's impressive.
@@zackdanh9352 Oh i completely agree, i don't hate on Kazuya at all, which is why I said in some peoples opinions. Im a huge Riddles fan, he's in my top 3 favorite players to watch. He definitely is a matchup check, but he gets bodied by zoners, his reflector is a complete meme, and the Kazuya player has to be really good with their movement in order to get in.

No player has come around as crowd pleaser the way sonix has. He went from a time out demon, to an absolute combo fiend. No one is taking this character anywhere near the height he's reached

Sonix is a great player, that's fact. Still I think Sonic is the best character in this game if not Steve, even top players have to counterpick Sonic with aegis, spargo can't use his best character, mkleo has to use his worst character, meanwhile Sonic is very capable in every matchup, I think Sonic as a character makes for very boring tournament interactions, if you play a slow character you'll get camped

Basically the amount of top players in attendence. We had Leo,Spargo, Tweek, Sonix, and a ton more. The tournament was stacked.

Yeah it's pretty bad. Last time he used Cloud against Sonix in bracket was at Genesis 9 and he got 3 stocked in like a minute
Yeah, pretty sure Cloud's recovery is more exploitable than Aegis's recovery.
@@elcomp2178 Usually Aegis's recovery is definitively worse, but maybe not in this specific matchup. But the more important part is that Mythra can keep up with Sonic in the neutral.
