Thanks I've been looking at installs and this is the cleanest I've seen yet. My truck has about 10 inches lift and 38's makes it quite difficult to hop in lol

Hope it works well for you because it was a major improvement for the truck

@fast Eddie I sure hope so too I'm a fabricator so I knew I could make something happen but it's nice to see they do hide up in there before spending the money on them.

How far out from the body was your 1x2 tubing placed. How far up from the lip of the body was your tube placed? This looks awsome. I am in the process of stripping down a 69 K10. Have the running boards already. Going to plagerize your fantastic idea.

Thats great news thats why we did the video. as far as the placement of the tubing from the cab im not remembering but it is very close to the frame maybe an inch. what you need to do is mount the running boards to the 1x2 tubing and tack weld and test fit it. our goal was that the running boards disappeared when retracted and that was most challenging part of the build. Its important for the running boards to stay straight with the cab when they are open or closed. good luck thank you for watching

when you trimmed the board the end caps where able to get back on there pretty snug? also did you have to tap new holes on the boards or anything to be about to mount it on the control arms?

The end pieces just slipped on to newly cut running boards and I remember that you could cut them to whatever length worked for the application. The brackets would slide to .any location needed. The bracket had a piece that fit into underside of running boards that allowed the 2nd piece of the bracket to be bolted to the 1st piece of bracket. Made it universal in my opinion. Thanks for watching 😁

dded AMP power steps to the 1985 blazer.
I have the wiring all completed on the passenger side via the door courtesy light switch. When i pulled the door switch (unscrewed) from the door frame, i only saw a single white wire, which i pulled off the switch and added the purple trigger wire from the amp power step harness with a new connector. Installed switch back to the door frame, and connected the positive and negative from the harness to the battery. open door, step goes down. close door, (courtesy light goes back off) and step retracts in. Working GREAT!
Now for the driver side. Pulled the courtesy light switch and there is a tan and a white wire, and no matter what wire i connect the other purple trigger wire for the driver side to, the passenger side will trigger and go up and down as well as the driver side. Any suggestions?

Oh man I fail at wiring. But it could be that someone has messed with that wiring before you cause I think the wire color isn't correct on passenger side. If drivers side works correctly then try to duplicate the wiring on passenger side

I have a 72 I’m going to try to install these. Just wanted to make sure it came with that wiring kit that you were able to power them with?

It did and seems like most kits are universal as far as wiring

The noise you hear when running boards operate was an adjustment issue.

Any chance you know where he got the chrome trim piece? And how was the cutting process? Sorry looking to replicate your project

Thanks for warching Alan. No apologies needed 😁 he purchased the stainless strips fom ebay on a seperate purchase i believe it was just a random find but for the amp running boards. As far as cutting the trim i thought it was pretty easy as so the running boards. Running boards also come with end caps so the fit and finish is perfect. I will say that this was a great investment for every 4×4. I think the way that we installed them on his truck was the best fit and the most secure. Let me know howvit turns out👍

Do you remember the kit number you ordered

I don't but it was for a 2007 Silverado extra cab. All the hinges are the same and we cut the running boards to fit so I think that we could of used any of the kits that AMP offers

Could you make the boards longer to provide access to the bed tool box?

    • @fasteddie4294
      @fasteddie4294  Рік тому

I'm sure you could and they are actually already shortened. But this was the length my brother wanted
