Wig: www.ebonyline....
It's very flattering. Reminds me of my beautiful mom who used to wear her hair like this in the 60's.
Me too
The young lady on the advertisement is so pretty the smile an her eyes All stunning❤❤😊
My mom wore hers like this well into the 70s 😂
This is exactly what the ladies of the time did: They had wigs ready and waiting with all the curls to put on before going out for shopping or other errands! That wig is amazing for $15! Yes, you made it even better than the original inspiration photo.
Thank you so much 🥰
Soo cute! I even liked it just after you cut it. Back in the day we had to sleep in hair rollers to get that style.
Looks so Pretty!!!! 😊💗🌺
Fifteen dollars!?!?! Well worth every penny for a beautiful look! I remember this hairstyle and I still think it is beautiful!
I think your hair actually turned out cuter than your inspo pic. Beautiful job!
agreed!
I love what you do. Thank you. I love love love 1960s style too
The exact hair style black women used to wear back in the 60s... Nostalgia, i was a teenage boy back then
That was so fun to watch. Just as with your sewing, you have a strong idea of what you want and how to get there. I love your style, both clothing and hair!
Awww the little “hey” when you were in the bathroom lol I imagine that took a lot of courage to shave all your hair off but I bet it felt so freeing too. As girls, society teaches us that our value = how close we are to the “beauty standard” of long hair, etc - props to you for staying true to you. That’s true beauty!
Thank you so much you I really thought I was going to have this overwhelming response to shaving my head but I was genuinely happy and relieved. I tried for so long to be a “hair girl” but I’m not and not having any really validated that for me.
I remember my lovely cousin wearing her hair in a very similar way when I was a young girl. Beautiful job
I was a teen in the 60’s and this is how we did our hair. Under or over but we slept on brush rollers every night. Great do.
LUV it! so cute. My sister and I have very curly hair. So we did not blow dry it to avoid friz. we washed and dippity-do and set on orange juice cans to smooth it out!. Those things were like 3-4" across and no bonnet would cover our heads so we used see-through chiffon scarves... hated the night(I slept on a rolled up towel under my neck-no pillow)but left huge smooth waves. This is so darling on you. thanks for sharing.
You did great duplicating that advertisement!
Great video! I love your flip . Now that I have bangs again, I’m using my round brush dryer-It’s a life saver.
Wigs were and are popular. Forty years ago, a co-worker’s husband actually liked to go wig shopping with her.
You look good in your hair style.
When I was a kid, we had a reverse wrap skirt. Later, I made a set of wrap around shorts. Also, reverse. Thought it would give you an ideal.
So Jealous. Black women get to wear helper hair with no judgement, while white women are all, oooh, can’t wear wigs! It’s weird! When I wore a wig while doing chemo, I loved that my hair was ready before I was! 😂😂😂 That came so darn CUTE! And just like I remember my sisters’ hair back in the 60s - nailed it!
I have one of my mom's wigs from the late 60's. I have often thought that if I ever had chemo, I would wear it and any outlandish thing I took a notion to!
Looks very elegant, feminine and ladylike.
You did such a beautiful job! I have a natural mohawk right now and am tempted to try this super cute do with a wig.
super cute! thanks for showing us the process! 🖤✊🏾
Oh, my goodness, that is such a cute and fetching look! Can imagine it as am elegant evening style too, with just a few tweaks.
Thanks so much for the wig tips...didn't know you could style them on your own self, or that the heat from a dryer brush would would work. Am not big into hair-styling, either... :)
Hi! I just subscribed to your channel and love your vintage aesthetic! I'm a retired librarian, sewed most of my life, and have been collecting vintage patterns for decades - I have boxes and boxes of patterns from the 40's to the 70's. Getting older, I realize I'm never going to sew them and am looking to re-home them. I just can't stand the idea of donating them to the thrift store, where they'll probably just be thrown out. If you're interested, I can email you some pics. I have a few rare original Vogue patterns, including Pucci and other 50's/60's designers - you can see why I'm afraid they'll be thrown out! I'm not interested in selling, just donating to someone who will appreciate them. I can mail them to a P.O. box or a business address - just let me know if you want some pics. If not, no problem!
Sooo cute❤ your love for the 60s is so inspiring and cute!
You are as cute as button! Love the style. I think I was born in the wrong era. I love all the 1950s early 6Os styles.
This turned out SO CUTE
Thank you so much love 🥰❤️❤️

My friend has similar hair to yours the Natural. It was a short style but she was STUNNING. Maybe try that one day. She made her natural hair in tiny curles kinda parted to the left then swirl around the edge. I was a barber and also did womens hair. Its terrie what chemicals that was put on the hair n scalp. My friend slowly grew it out about n inch r two
Thinking way back in the Night club soul scenes the ladys natural hair ecen short was Gorgeous. With that saif you did such a good job with the wig. The Bobby pins were used as much as ladys nylon stocking it was the fad. Check it out id say its classy.
amazing! i actually loved you with the long curls too, before you cut the wig.
That’s amazing. I always wanted to try wigs. Who doesn’t want to be blonde at least once?
So strange seeing you wearing a t-shirt 😅! The hair looks perfect! And the wig looks so natural too. I first thought it was your hair! Thank you for sharing!!❤
Thanks so much! Hahah I don’t wear t-shirts often but when I do it’s merch from another vintage creator 😂🤭 this shirt actually says “she loves vintage”
You did an amazing job! I was surprised at how good it looked right after you cut it. Your end result looked very 60's.
I love this sooo much! It looks amazing on you!❤
With my natural curly hair and living in the south with high humidity, I could never have a flip-do.
That’s my situation. Halfwigs make the difference. Also I usually wear my here up in the summer
Ma'am! You can't just casually mention shaving off all your hair before. Lol. Can you share how you made that choice and how your hair is doing now? And this look is so cute!
Lmao last year I went to the dermatologist for my sensitive scalp. I was having the worst migraines from just touching my head. It got to the point where I would cry just to take my scrunchy out. Turns out I had a scalp condition and the treatment was to wash my hair every other day with medicated shampoo. Keep in mind my scalp was so tender a single touch caused me pain for two days so I went home and shaved it all off. 😂 I didn’t / don’t like doing my hair so I felt like it was the perfect opportunity to get rid of it so my scalp could heal and I could get a break.
l love the dress and the hairdo!
That style is so cute, looks great on u❤
That’s adorable!❤
I like the big 70s look just as much as the flip...
Your rendition is prettier🙌😍
It looks great on you!!
Now this was really cute...Barbie baddie just like that❤
So cute!
Wow! That was so interesting! I’ve never worked with wigs and probably never will. I get overheated so easily I can’t imagine wearing anything on my head!!!
It turned out so cute! And you look fabulous in that style. Thanks for sharing such a personal, but fun, moment!!!
Super cute 🩷
Fabulous job! I can't believe that wig only cost $15! You look gorgeous! 🤩 😍
You look like you slept with a little pink sponge roller on your bangs😂. Very good job on the hair 🩷..
..oh wait... You did, I saw the whole video 😂.
Restoration yes!
Looks adorable!
what a cute look! Very much reminds me of the 60s. My mother had a similar hair style as well.
That looks darling! It really frames your face nicely!
Thank you
Serena I like how the style turned out. 😁 🎉
I was wondering, wouldn't it be easier to work with a shorter length wig rather than having to cut the hair on a longer length one?? 🤔
I use to try to style my hair, using the styles on my mom's can of Beck hair spray
❤ very nice!!
Looks so adorable...
Looks great!
WHAT?!? Ive seen your other vieos and didnt know this was a wig !!!
Yep 🤭
Love it!
IVE BEEN GOING THROUGH YOUR VIDS AND I LOVE YOUR OUTFITS AND RECIPES SM!!! 😍😍😍💗💗💗💗💗
I like the wig and the 60s hair style and thanks for sharing 💜😊
Thank you very much 🥰
So 3 of these styles ate 😊❤- the first, and then when you cut it into a shoulder length bob? Do nice, and then the last way, the way you bumped the ends is sooo cute. Congrats on your big chop - it's very freeing, good for you. And I live the sade pressing to protect the edges
Looks so good! Oh my goodness!!❤
When you got out doing errands, do you get a lot of people stopping you and asking you questions about your retro style?
Is it mostly young folk or older folk than ask you?
Every one of all ages stops to talk to me. It’s like the perfect icebreaker.
@@SewRena Very good to know.
I own a few classic muscle cars and I tend to get a lot of silver haired and white haired men telling me about "when I got back from Vietnam I bought a 67 Fastback mustang".
❤❤❤❤😊
Included renovations would be great.
