Great cat. I have the same grooming kit for my Russian Blue. And I find the same two brushes most useful - the silicon one and the one with bent "teeth". I use "horse brushing technique" though. Yes, it is almost the same as you would use to groom horses ;-) I hold the metal brush in my dominant hand (for better control) and the silicon brush in the other hand. I alternate between the silicon brush which nicely removes dead hair in addition to massaging and the metal one which collects the removed hair in addition to "fluffing up" the fur. I do apply some pressure for better massaging and dead hair removal effect. If I happen to apply a bit too much pressure from time to time, he just bites the brush. So, I know how much I can go for. And I think I must be doing it right because he never fails to come when he can hear that I'm opening the grooming box. And when he has enough, he just walks away. I recommend trying this technique. I find it the most effective for dead hair removal of everything that I have tried so far.
After 16 years, my Russian blue got sick and died. I had no idea what a magnificient cat he was. After watching multiple videos of other Russian blues, I now realize I had been blessed with der Arnold of cats.
Im a Dog person but was in an accident and live in a large apartment a cat would be good i think a russian blue tick all the boxes for as an indoor cat, i would really care for him a little boy cat great little guy for a friend
Stunning Seb! He's so gorgeous, clearly the Siamese bloodline. I have a female RB, in her "teenage" years, so she's ready to party when I turn my lamp off for bedtime 🤣 thankfully her brother, my Bombay levels her out. Quite a duo, if anyone is considering a Russian Blue baby, just make sure you raise them together from kittens.
@@oldfogey4679 well you have some pros on your side... even though your male is older, cats are territorial regardless BUT a kitten can be an exception. Few questions, is your male neutered? What breed is he? What is his temperament around other people (family, friends, or stranger) that come INSIDE your home? Is he an inside only or inside/outside cat? Those details matter when considering a new member. Then there's some accommodations to make, in hopes for a smooth introduction and acceptance. A kitten can be reasonably molded, as attributes exclusive to breed are varied generalizations. More so exclusive to felines, is their loyalty to the provider, just like dogs or any domestic pet.
More open to lap time? :) I have a russian blue for two weeks now and my biggest problem is to get anything done because my cat sleeps on my lap all the time and wants to cuddle all day long. On the other hand, even that i have a very big flat, it gets bored quite often and i am out of ideas how to entertain it.
My Russian blue is 3 months old he has his cat food on he’s food matt and as we have wooden floor it’s easier to clean if he makes a mess, can I ask why you have the carpet underneath? Or is it for aesthetic?
Hi! I really like this breed and I am thinking about getting myself a russian blue kitten. Would you say that they are shedding a lot or is it the opposite? Because I read that they tend to loose less hair because of their unique fur texture.
3 weeks ago a got a kitten and his last dad don’t know what kind is it he though British short hair but today I end up knowing it’s Russian blue 😂😂 I got for 40$ and he cute healthy lil boy ❤ 3:47

All cats can be lapcats if you bring them up correctly. You simply MUST know ... "HOW" to pick them up. Very important. Unfortunately most people don't know how.
You can rub him ervery where, but please do NOT rub him with your nails at his tummy. He does NOT like it (not with your nails, you can rub softly there with the skin of your fingers) He will thank you for this ;-)
This cat is a male? Looks like a female to me. But I understand there's two types of russian blues. Traditional and american I think. One has the narrow face and body which this one must be that kind. Right?
My boy is half blue half korat he looks acts just like a korat! Hes picked lucjy lottery nos for my friend whose won 40$ thus far from his choices! Hes a dog cat! I dont groom him as he was physically abused for the first 5 weeks of life around grooming rituals! Hes not hypoallergenic but my allergies dont care!
Very elegant cat. Fur of Russian blue is magical

Sussy I may take in a male blue kitten but my boy is 7 and doesn't like male cats so I'm unsure?

My cat would always lick out all the sauce and leave the dry tidbits.
Do you have russian or american type of russian blue cat? Your cat is wonderful!
I will miss you Mr. Blue.
❤
I enjoyed this! Do you work from home if I may ask? I am asking because I am not sure if I can have one when I am working. Thank you so much.

My Russian blue likes to go outside, great cat 🐈⬛
Anyone can recommend a reputable breeder in NYC area by any chance?
How about an automatic feeder so he doesn't wake you.
sadly he only eats wet food and wouldn’t eat dry food at all so no automatic feeders for us😂
@@rbluesebastian Wow - privileged! What about mixing them up since dry food is important for his teeth?

Most don’t know ponks other side away from seb….
Max doesn't like to be held either, not much of a lap cat.

I don't like the first sound of cat which actually is not that of the cat in the video.
