Ordered this exact bike with the tourer package (side cases and hand guards) last week as my first bike. Took it for a spin at a dealer and was sold after the first corner its comfy as hell and I love the twin sound even wih the stock exhaust.
Just did a 1500 mile trip on my ‘10 model and loved every mile of it! I can only imagine that all of the upgrades on the ‘19 would make a ride like that even more enjoyable. I will say, I like the look of the earlier models better; personal preference of course.
The versys 650 will probably be my first bike too I'm a tall guy 1,90m and i searched for bikes that could fit me Besides the versys 650 i have bikes like the v-strom 650 , tracer 7, cb500x, bmw 750 gs and tenere 700 on my list as a potenial fist bike but the versys seems to be the best option So many people say it's comfy It has a large fuel tank A pretty good price for what you get The only thing i kind of dislike about the bike would be the dashboard because it seems a bit outdated in my humble opinion but the rest this bike offers ticks a lot of boxes for me
I had a 2008 Versys that I loved... Givi side cases and large top case for lots of luggage capacity... Too bad my house burned down March 2015 and destroyed everything. Also had a 1975 Honda CB750 parked beside it I bought from the original owner 1 year before....Both gone...Only one I have left is a Ural with a sidecar which hasn't been started in years...one of these days I'll be riding again....thanks for the video and review....
That's awful and to lose everything as well. Yeah i can imagine just loading everything up and disappearing haha These bikes are great, with that pokey 650 twin, it handles itself very well. No problem thank you
Nice review mate, I got a 13 plate "some say the ugly one but not me" and have been very happy with it, I test rode a new one too and to be honest apart from the front end looks and ABS (not a fan of ABS) It felt like the same comfortable bike. Im 5'8" and the seat hight is ok and i feel stable and confident in traffic. There are options for lowering, the lower seat and the rear shock kit which together can knock off nearly 50mm. The extra trick functions on the clock I'd have no need for. Theirs loads of good quality low mileage used Versys out their so save some money.
I'm very late to this "adventure" bike party gentlemen. Although I've owned numerous bikes that would now be classed as "adventure bikes" (KLR650, KLE500, XT500 etc etc) That was many years before the term adventure bike was coined though. They were just cheap/easy to work on bikes that would take me wherever I wanted to go. Having been riding bikes for 37yrs. Just less that 1 month ago I decided to throw in the towel due to health issues & I sold my Bonneville. As far as I was concerned it was the end of an illustrious biking career. That didn't last long though. As I almost instantly regretted not having a bike in my garage. As of today I own a 2015 Versys 650. If my ride tomorrow goes as well as my 4 mile trip around the block today? I'll be a very happy bunny. And my biking career may be able to continue for several more years? 🙂 I was/am a huge fan of Suzuki Bandits. I've often heard them described as..."Way more of a bike than the sum of their parts!"... That is soooooo true! And exactly the same term applies to the 650 Versys! On paper it's nothing to shout about. However, once you ride one you quickly realise it's the bargain bike of the millennium! 🙂
Rode this bike from m&p yesterday after passing my test last Monday what a lovely bike to ride so comfortable the only fault I can point out is the power but I'm not in it for the power it's all about comfort with me got the vstrom 650 to try but I prefer the looks of this over the vstrom.
Ah congratulations! It's a brilliant bike and does very well for what it was built for but like you said the power lets it down. It's due to having the same engine as the z650 and ninja 650 but in a heavier frame and body which doesn't help. Not 100% a fan of the vstrom
BigBenMotoVlogs yea the vstrom doesn't look the best lol liked the mt09 tracer but it's a bit out of my price range versys is a stunning looking bike tho felt like taking it home same day lol
Nice review. One thing that would be an improvement would be put the camera on a gimbal while you're walking around the bike talking, or even just hold it.
I'm on a 125cc at the moment as I only commute and don't really need much power! However, I was looking at getting one of these or the Tracer 700 as I want to try and go a bit further and tour a bit! I'm so torn between the 2, do you think going from 125 to this I'd struggle at all?
The tracer 700 will more and likely be a bit more of a pokier engine, same as the mt07 as this bike felt like it didn't have any urgency but that's not what this bike is for. Should be fine going from a 125, it's going to be heavier and it is a very forgiving bike.
Hello mate great channel. Had a look back through your vlogs and wondered how long you have been riding... did you start on the MT125 and work your way up?

Nice man dude! I had fun on it for the hour i had it and that twin has loads of character. Enjoy
All the reviews have been very good about this bike. I'm sold!
They are, haven't heard anything bad about them, just wish i saw them on the roads more. Good luck :D

Now on my 4th versys, I always come back to them after owning other bikes in between, probably the best bike.... In the world!
The versys 650 will probably be my first bike too

Nice review and scenic route. 👍🏻
Kawasaki should list "No Rider Modes" as a feature in their specs, you're welcome.
IKR; an honest motorcycle. Increasingly rare birds.
Or... "You want a bike? Here is a bike. Have fun"
That's why they are so affordable. What you see is what you get. Ride modes are overdone anyway, IMO.
Best review of Versys 650 so far, thanks! except that horrendous music at the end :)
Thank you. You are the first person to complain about it, It's an outro, its at the end of all my videos
Good video, thank you.
Nice review. One thing that would be an improvement would be put the camera on a gimbal while you're walking around the bike talking, or even just hold it.
Thank you. I have a gimbal but it's a cheaper end version and is a pain to get right. Thank you for your feedback though
Hi mate. Good review once again. Can you review the MT-07 Tracer and also the 09 Tracer? Would be interesting to see how they compare to this. :-)
Thank you :D Will try my best, may not be for a while

get a duke 690! its amazingly fun in the corners and light as a feather
Anonymous Biker tracer is small bike. I prefer new vstrom 650. Think the best value for money
7:50 If You Want To See Him Ride The Bike.
Thanks for the time stamp, i try not to waffle on :P
Hello mate great channel. Had a look back through your vlogs and wondered how long you have been riding... did you start on the MT125 and work your way up?
FYI audio is horrible try the mic in ur pocket..very garbled
Buen vídeo 👍
Thank you
Great bike, dizzy video.
MT O7 is more fun but far less comfortable
Very true 👍
Did you have stock tyres on? Most Versys riders comment that the one (& only) drawback of the bike are the tyres.
yeah stock from new. For the hour i didn't feel that the tyres were an issue
