- In this video, Quixel artist Wiktor Öhman shows you how to quickly create an urban street environment using only Megascans assets. Learn how to rapidly lay the groundwork, how to detail it with decals, scatter and vegetation assets and how to completely transform it to a middle eastern theme as well as a wet, night-time scene using some UE4 scripts and the Quixel Mixer.

Wtf is this name
The assets used in this video are currently being uploaded to megascans.se/library and will be available shortly!
it's need money ?
Any Chance you can add the link for the camera setup as mentioned in video =) ???
Anyone believe in the next 3 or 4 years, games will look this detailed on the ps5
It feels like he is working on the Unreal Engine Team because it's been made so professional and and easy to get. It really helps a lot having a tutorial with someone who doesn't just skip word's or forget some things. Keep it up, those are the kinds of tutorials we need more of on UA-cam!
This is the official Quixel channel, not a random youtuber.
YES, i've been waiting for a city tutorial for ages. Fantastics, thanks Quixel, always on top !
Started watching your star citizen vids recently, you also keep up the awsome work
Thank you ! :D
Same
Where's the city tutorial? This guy built 10 meters of road for 20 minutes in the worst way possible (not in BP, not using static mesh instances). Then loads a completely different thing at the end (probably not done by him at all) and everyone is losing their shit...
Whoa, you opened my eyes with how to tackle streets! I was trying to do everything with 1 texture, in substance painter. This decal technique is sweet looking!! thanks!
you have a fantastic explanation and clear workflow, great video by quixel, learned a lot here
i'm speechless, your stuff it's always so perfect
Their stuff's price is also perfect
whats up lmao
Expensive is not perfect.
Holy crap, I didnt expect I would see cyberpunk in it. Speechless.
When? Can you timestamp it?

>makes a video "create a city street in ue4"
>20 minutes makes the road only
>at 20:38 showcases the already fully made street with all props in place
HELL YEAH , that's just like in university when you skip a second from the lecture and the blackboard is all filled
why are you so true?
Ahahahahahahahahahahaha
Yeah people mostly put likes without even watching it fully just to find it later in the "liked" playlist. This is me, so I guess most of people are the same. Now I watched it till the end and put a dislike because it is misleading and they double lied. Promised to release a tool - didn't. The title promosied to create a city street - created a road.
@@brutal6129 Why not use Watch later then?
@@vedroman1 you have to do more actions
I was not expecting the scene at the end, mind blowing!
I hope those advanced techniques you mentioned for upcoming tutorials include the nice raindrop effect! Can't wait, and thank you for the tutorial!
They sure will be!
That scene at the end tho ;)
Thank you for these videos! Quality content
Good gosh what a watch. Amazing work man.
THIS IS INSANE good job
"I've placed a couple of Neons" lol the street looks amazing!
Ayyyyyyyyyyy, can't wait until the next episode
I subbed this channel when it had only 2k subs. Quixel is getting bigger and bigger day by day but you guys dont have right amount of subs you need. Hope you guys get bigger so.
Thank you so much for the support DevisAGamer, it really means a lot :)
I hope to see more tutorials like this one.
That's unreal. I'm awestruck
speechless what a great tutorial, very informative.
I love the cliffhanger!
please keep making them it will help. They are very good!
Excellent work!
Well....Spectacular! Hell of an engine this UE4 :)
it looks so nice and realistic ;0
Thanks a lot for the video. Any chance you could explain how to add the decal material in the material editor? I tried pasting the whole script in the material editor but couldn't figure out how to get it to work.
Great video. What's the status of that UE4 road blueprint? Also, what version of the engine are you using? When pasting the codes, I have unspecified collection parameters errors.
The end scene, omg, colour me impressed!
really high quality scans!
I found this at the perfect time... maybe. Looking to implement in 5.2, it looks great.
Sir You are Outstanding....
It really helps me
I like the jump from city street to city at the very end, felt like me missed some steps there lol
@Quixel - 0:59 - where is this one blueprint actor road building script on UE Marketplace? How to find it and how to buy it? Please drop the link!
Guy your voice is so beautiful ! Nice work ☠
I'll use a ton of scatter! it looks so good.
It's probably worth mentioning that when you say, 'Hey we built out this epic cyberpunk scene and will cover it in another video' now obligates you to actually cover the entire production of that scene. :P As a user of Megascans, I'd personally love to see it.
when will this be released on the marketplace?
any chance you guys make a tutorial on actually setting up the road with mesh decals in ue4 using the yellow or white lines in the library. It would be helpful. thanks
Thank you for the lesson! But I still don't understand how to set up the material itself in the decal. The material that is imported from the Bridge, I do not understand how to switch the mode to "Deferred Decal" Whereas with ordinary materials there is no such problem. Please tell me how to do this?
Aweome stuff Wiktor! have you released the roadbuildning script yet? I can't find it on Marketplace?
can you exactly link all textures used for this road? really hard to find anything similar in megascans library except decals
Hi Wiktor, can you please tell me what road texture you are using because the ones i have got from Megascans are really different in colour , plus i like the look of the one in this scene. could you also link a screenshot of your material setup as when i paste in the code into the material editor i am not sure what goes where. Thankyou for your great work.
Hi great tutorial , about decals and asphalt Material are they shared ? you put Link but i don 't understand how to download with paste bin
news on the blueprint for the creation of the road?
Thanks for everything
how to get those materials you used for the project
Is it possible to get the road script link ? the street texture where released on megascan but not the script. Thank you
I really wanted to see the part 2 for this ... with that bladerunner version of the street.
How did you create that section of street ( 1:20 ) and how did u get that into UE4?
So can anyone point out what is that "road building tool" released on marketplace?
Like machinarium, how to fullscreen but don't stretch your graphic, fill the rest of the space with black?
which decal is used on the side of the asphalt ? the straight one? old road decal?
and will it be possible in a future version of studio to place and edit those decals? like adding liquid etc?
absolutely crazy good!
hey!
Thank you for providing the material links!
However, i tried to open the material for the decals and somewhere around line 354 (pretty much that object described starting with line 354) causes Unreal to crash...
Any chance you could update the link?
Cheers!
trying to comile the shader causes an error in feature level SM5? new to unreal, using 4.18, any idea on what the issue is trying to set the shader up?
What is Decal_01_Inst2? I cant find something like this in Quixel Bridge. Thank you.
i think that i love you guys
Are you sure that you just "think"?
From where did you download the 2 lane roads from and how did you upload them to UE4?
Been wondering where is the road tool in the market place? :c I wanna buy it. it's been a while and I'm still waiting for it haha
Its also possible using splines and create the settings yourself in the material blueprint instead anyone wonders.
This dude is next level
where can i find there road assets
what was the main texture for the road?
It was wonderful! So I bought this textures. But I can't found '/Game/Textures/Decals/Manhole_Small_1/Displacement.Displacement','Game/Road_Builder/Textures/Variations.Variations', '/Game/Textures/Decals/TireMask.TireMask' etc....
Where can I get it?
can someone share a link to the roadbuilding script? i can't find it anywhere.
Thanks Wiktor! This is an Amazing work! I have some issue with megascan textures. I have bought several textures from megascan library but it's impossible to fit decals color with asphalt one. I think there ara different texture inside Road Building script. When this script will be avaiable? Let me know. Thanks
hey! is the road asphalt texture posted on quixel megascans?
OMG it's wonderfull!
Cyberpunk, i love it
@Quixel The blueprint for the creation of the road was released at the end?
Hey! Awesome video! Thank you! Are you planning to put the white line decal on the marketplace?
How many draw calls is that ? I would go for masks inside the material or made a plane being instanced with per instance random atlas texture
Hi, i have a question, do u recommend me using megascans for a video game, like the photorealistic stuff
Thanks
You Have Best Website Materials !!
can you please help me? my foliage tool is not placing the foliage in correct place. it is scattering the foliage all around the foliage box instead of spawning it inside
It is valid for Unreal engine 5??? I do not know what could be the difference, supose better option the newest version
Did that road building script ever come out yet? Also I'm having issues using your provided asphalt material - it seems to be all there but there aren't any comments so I can't really match up the texture nodes to the textures I downloaded from megascans. Help?
I wouldn't have known that intro was designed unless you told me.
Where do I find Road assets? I can only find surfaces
is the road builder available can i buy it?
Where did you get that road model?
(Can anyone confirm) so decals don’t need to be modified, they can just be dragged and dropped on to landscape or scans as shown in the video? ( working on a basketball game and don’t want to go through photoshop every time I need lines)
Hi Quixel guys, Amazing tutorial as always, I have a little suggestion about material.
Many people don't have advanced knowledge about material I think that you can add material screenshot it will help so much.
I know this materials are simple, but in my case I have some doubts in Decal Material on Opacity_blend_mask what texture I put there? What is the material setup? Dbuffer Translucent color, normal? That kind of question. I know that explain about material is not the focus of the tutorial I'm just trying to improve understanding of the video.
Where did you get the road from?
where i can fund those decal???
I don't use Ue4 but I just loved to see how you made the material. very cool. hyva hyva
Please can anyone share screens how the connected blueprint looks like?
Is this kind of interactive workflow possible with Maya? I'm more film background and unfortunately a lot of this good workflows are mainly for games :( please point me to the right direction if anyone knows
What is the desktop PC specs to run Quixel ? Seems like not an easy task for mid range PC..
Can I add this City Street in adobe after effect
Hi Wiktor,
I am so excited to begin using these assets and methods in my own project, but, how would the performance cost look for an open world game i.e. much larger environments constructed almost solely from your high quality Megascans assets.
Surely I would not be able to keep this level of detail consistent, regardless of the tenacity or pay grade of my content creators! I feel like I would be able to try, but perhaps as a more simple question; is there anything I should keep in mind whilst using a Megascans workflow?
Also, could you do a tutorial on how you made the roads Blueprint mechanism? Fascinating stuff!
Amazing... I took a three week course as a side hobby in game/level design and I’d love to get into it, but I think i7 and radeon 560 with a 1tb fusion drive will be insufficient on a computer that’s already streamlined for audio production :(
Amazing!
This is magic.
You guys should get a team to make full games
@Quixel - Wiktor Öhman - 0:59 - where is this one blueprint actor road building script on UE Marketplace? How to find it and how to buy it? Please drop the link!
Ditto
Did the road blueprint ever come out on the marketplace?
This is helpful thanks for you
where is the script so I can copy and past it?
Wiktor many thanks for this environment. It looks real. However I couldn't open the material links. Please provide new links
All I was watching for, was for the wet street environment, and that's the last thing you did LOL amazing though.
Trouble with quixel bridge sign in...for UE.. epic games sign in ...it freezes when I try to login
