Hello all and welcome to my 1 year later experience with the iPhone SE and in this episode I will share with you if the Apple iPhone SE 2020 is still worth it after 1 year. Man, speed is useless. I got a huawei p smart z and worked perfectly for 2 years. Witha better screen, better battery and a cheaper price.

I ordered an iphone se but currently I have a galaxy s8 and it freezes and prevents me from turning it off so I think you both beat me in speed

I got mine last year in May and its been great . this isn’t the phone for people who play on there phones all day and never put it down this phone is for someone who’s working and uses it as a communication device listening to music, podcasts , texting , emails, occasional video and Google maps you’ll have no problem making it through the day if that’s your use case

I’m trying to decide between the iPhone SE and the iPhone 12 Mini. I don’t wanna pay the extra $200+ but that battery on the SE sounds suspect from what I’ve seen on UA-cam.
SE 2nd generation is definitely a great option for the long term at a cheaper price.

I love my SE 2020. I brought the black color 128gb. My first iPhone and I think it works great. I plan on having it for a few years.

@@ExtremeWays4Bourne I had an se (coming from a 7 plus and it’s HORRIBLE. It’s fast but the screen and cameras are too bad. I recommend you go one eBay like me. I got an iPhone XR for $389 on eBay in prefect condition and it’s so much better. The fast A13 Bionic makes no difference. The SE battery life is HORRIBLE and cameras are okay. Just go get an XR or if you can get Android get the one plus nord or Samsung a series
You can also get an XR for 499$ new from apple on their website too.

I think the Main reason for most people to buy this phone is not the software but rather the familiar form factor and Touch ID.
Plus the software. When one gets fed up of not being able to download stuff on older IPhones, they get peace of mind with a budget device that can be supported for a few years at least.

Traded my iPhone XS for this phone and i love it. Its very speedy and responsive. This A13 chip is a beast hands down.
Could you talk about the battery? I prefer the old models with the Touch ID, but they talk things about the SE 2020 not having a great battery, so how is it? Is it worth it in battery terms? I’m a someone who has the phone all the day on their hand for ALL, games, photos, edition, messages, calls, social media, videos, movies, etc., should you recommend the phone for someone that use it all the day?
@@elygaytan6874 I’ve also traded my iPhone XS for an SE 2020. Got the SE 2020 two days ago. Battery life is decent. But if you’re on your phone all day, I’d highly recommend you to buy a battery case for the SE 2020. My average screen on time is about 4-5hrs with 10% battery left.
Ye im on xs but fed up of face id especially with a mask on outside. I miss the home button.
@@elygaytan6874 for yeaaarss people used iPhone 5 and 6,7,8. The battery will definitely be better then those models . And there is a powerbank option to carry with you and you can still use the great iPhone with Touch ID .😎
I honestly do think the 12 mini should have replaced the se 2 but I do wish the mini price would drop

Had mine for approx 10 months and love it. Everything just works and no worries moving forward due to piece of mind of support from Apple for the foreseeable future.
Been rocking the SE 2 for more than 9 months now, and it’s has been a great experience. The only exception is battery life, but overall, it’s a cool device.

Hi Nick, how would you compare the battery life of this phone to the 12 mini? They're about the same size i wouldn't be surprised if they had similar battery life.
I’ve had them both. The Mini is a little better. Maybe 15 to 20% better. Probably right in between the 8 and 12.

So about a week ago I just came back from my honeymoon at the Dominican republic. I had one too many tequila shots jumped into the ocean with my iPhone 11 in pocket and it’s probably somewhere in the belly of the whale right now. It’s not like I could go to an iPhone store because I was in a Third World country so I just had to wait till I got back to the United States. With all that being said, after paying for a wedding, reception and a honeymoon I didn’t want to spend $1400 on a brand new iPhone. I went on Amazon and I jumped on the iPhone SE 2020 edition. I said it’ll hold me over till next month and I’ll get me an iPhone 12. Honestly…. I think I’m gonna hold onto this phone. I love how small it is in a hand. I love how fast it is and to be brutally truthful. I don’t miss the larger screen on the iPhone 11. I only paid 330 bucks for this one. Well worth it. Now I did buy Amazon renewed. Got next day shipping with prime and the phone came right away. If you lost an iPhone or if your iPhone was destroyed somehow. Extract that Sim card, and throw it in an iPhone SE! I genuinely and highly recommend this phone. 😎
It’s an excellent phone for a low to medium user. The battery gets me through the whole day and I generally charge it the next morning before I go into work. Gives me about 4 hours of SOT.. sometimes 4.5 hours..

Just picked up mine yesterday! Walmart has em for $249 after using my Walmart employee discount it was 243 after tax. I’m enjoying it so far.

It's definitely going to be a classic 3-4 years down the road, when the design will look old school, but it'll still be a usable phone with enough performance

I’ve had my iPhone SE 2020 for a little over a year now (it replaced my old iPhone 6 with serious battery issues). I still love my SE, one year later… it offers great bang for the buck, is a strong performer with the A13 Bionic chip in it, it feels very comfortable in the hand and does a great job with full 4K 60fps videos using the rear camera. And it also supports the latest iOS, unlike my old iPhone 6 with an A8 chip that fell out of iOS support long ago. I guess there’s possibly a new 2022 SE coming out in the next month or so… we’ll see what that brings to the table.

I have a iPhone SE. In germany there is a price diference from about 200 € to the 11. For myself, its morw than enough. I use it for YT, TikTok, Spotify and stuff like that. Sometimes a view little games. Its powerful and i like it. And its small!

Concerning battery life: the big plus is the little to no standby usage. This makes it outperform every Android I had before. Still nothing for heavy users.
Which iOS version you’re on ? I received mine with 14.3 and it does drain at night while sleeping around 0.6% per hour
Mines been holding up extremely well, came from an lg g6 and Android phones for the 6-7 years I’ve had cellphones, someone blessed me with a free iPhone 7 that ran extremely well for being as old as it was. Compared to the lifespan of android phones I was blown away on how great the 7 ran, and this se is just amazing! Any android users trying to get to iOS for cheap, the se is an amazing option!
Been using mine for 8 months. Nothing to complain about except for the battery taking a hit during intense tasks like gaming or taking slo-mo videos. I have almost taken the speed of the A13-B for granted. You'll only realise how powerful it is when you use a device with an inferior chip and compare the performances.

I’ve had mine for close to a month, and I gotta say it’s a really solid phone for the price (I actually got it for $50 switching to Metro.) The A13 absolutely crushes through iOS 14, and the battery from my perspective, is ok. I used to have an iPhone 6s before this phone, and let me tell you, anything is better than that. I mostly watch UA-cam videos, do gaming, and this battery isn’t completely made for hours of gaming on end, so it’s decent I would say. From my use, I get about 4 hours of screen time till it gets to about 1%. However, with the phone being compatible with PD 3.0, I’m able to charge it really fast again with a Lightning to USB-C USB 18 watt fast charger, so it’s not a complete loss. Overall, I love this phone and recommend it to anyone on a budget.

Been using SE 2020 for a few days now, I'm an Android user before so this is my first iPhone and my experience so far is great. Have a little bit issue with battery because I somewhat heavy user but these day I'm not going out a lot anyway so it's not a big problem.

6 months with my SE too, and dang with heavy use since i started using it, battery health is at 80% :( but considering that i have an average of 12 hours of screen time i think its okay? pandemic made me use this phone more

I was an iPhone se 1 user and waited for this for a long time and eventually went for iPhone 11. The only setback is battery for me. If they managed to put a bigger battery in this then it will sell like hot cakes no doubt in that. Let’s see if they can get it right in se 3 and continue the legacy of se 1.

I purchased the 12 Mini when it became available but sometimes I think maybe I should have saved 300$ and picked up the SE 2. I'm one of those that use an iPad or MacBook for everything so the SE 2 would have been enough for me, even so I love my 12 Mini.

I've DEFINITELY ENJOYED my iPhone SE 2020 for use with HomePod Mini and its an speed for not being 5G and great color accuracy of the screen. However.... my Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 and Amazon Echo Show third generation work even better together because I phone call on Echo Show and Duo on the tablet!
However.... phone calls from HomePod Mini very nice too!
I own the 2nd Gen SE, not as my daily driver ( that’s my 12 pro max) but I use it as my beta testing device.

@@nickackermanchannel I like the size, the camera is great, I get about 6+ hours of on screen time still, the A13 is a beast and keeps up with my brother's 12 pro max, and I was able to get it for $150 after trading in my 8 plus. It's been the best phone that i've ever bought! I'll definitely be keeping this one for a long time. And the battery health is at 95% so it's been performing very well in that department for me!
I just went with my grandma to the AT&T store and she finally upgraded from her basic flip phone to her first smart phone ever, and we decided the iPhone SE 2020 was the perfect option for the price, reliable software & hardware longevity. I’m excited for her!
can i use 20W apple charger?
The phone doesn’t support more than 18 watts, it would only use up to 18 watts.

Yes even I charge it only upto 80 and charge as and when I’m near a charger and never let it below 20
I charge it using PD fast charger or through my laptop through the original apple C to lightening cable

i enjoy my SE 2020 and own it for lil over a year but my mic died for no reason ill get it sorted very soon and hope the bills not extreme i did try the easy stuff cleaing the dirt outa the grills no change
I was going to get the SE 2020 but decided to go with an 11 instead due to the better battery life and the extra gig of ram.

I have a red and battery life -->drain by afternoon . Been to Apple store, looked at said was ok. Erased phone.. battery still dying even after updated OS .. turned off everything too to help make battery life longer. Love the size phone.. it is fast.. love the old skool home button too.. Think I got a Lemon phone… too bad it’s almost a year old now.
@@uncleshim I know battery life is less. But i be on my desktop/laptop for most of the time. So it's usable for me. I charge till 90 and sleep at 35-40 percent. If someday I use it heavy I charge for 15-20 mins which helps to make it to the day.
You can always buy a clip on wide angle camera attachment lol.

How is the battery on this one after a year for day to day stuff?
i stay with phones for a long time so battery life and updates are my biggest concerns.
I’ve noticed that bigger iPhone screens only have the advantage of being zoomed in; words and app icons are bigger which I prefer the opposite, only watching videos is where the true advantage comes in imo. I like having all features compressed in a smaller device, same with smaller letters.

I have ipad pro 3rd generation and recently got macbook pro m1. And I want an iPhone and no I won't want to spend for iphone 12 pro max because I'm worried I can not use iphone as I'm so used to android phones..

Junk!!! My Home "Button" got chipped within 6 months of having it. Making it completely useless. Apple wanted to chrarge me $170 to replace the disply, because it's not a real button, it's just part of the display screen. If the button wasn't set into the phone, nothing would have got caught and chipped it, but they won't replace it under waranty, claiming it is accidental damage. If it wasn't desgined poorly, it wouldn't have broken. I've owned about 6 apple devices and never had a problem, and the first time I do...Apple doesn't care. Thanks for nothing apple. I'm a Samsung person now.
