He looks out to the beach, where months ago gems and humans fought over earth. This was the place where Stevonnie was first made and the place where they got separated. This was the place where Connie died. He sighs and looks around, making sure he's alone. He sings this song, some parts first person, some parts third person, as if he blames himself for Connie's death. "You won and she chose you, and she loved you and she's gone!" He won the war as Stevonnie- is there anything he could've done so they wouldn't have gotten poofed?

I've seen some hate on this on tumblr just because he didn't switch around pronouns to make it a song about someone who was "gay for Rose" and that was a pretty bullshit argument.
That's a shame. its weird how much of a circle-jerk for people who similarly like to 'find' (invent) issues that site can be. He can't even sing the song the way it was originally sung without someone acting like its a problem, because the singer is male. This had nothing to do with changing the politics behind the song. Not gonna lie, you gotta push past the first couple episodes. They aren't bad but the show changes later for a better. Probably around "Giant Woman" but for sure once you get to "Jailbreak." Not ur kind of show tho if you don't like songs, emphasis on characters, lore, and emotional stuff.

I just started watching this show about a week and a half ago and I just watched this episode yesterday. I must say that this is my favorite song and my favorite episode so far. I love the way musical numbers are utilized in this show. They advance the story and develop the characters and themes, like true musical theater. I love musicals, sci-fi, and cartoons, so I have no idea why I avoided this show for so long. It has quickly become my favorite show ever.
Though Caleb's singing turns Pearl's performance into something that looks like something out of movies like west side story and Grease (something I thought was pretty neat in itself) He also adds a bit more dramatic emphasis on the last long note that you can't help but love. I mean the vocal range was just flawless.

I honestly think that Pearl is a better Snape than Snape was. At least she actually tries to look out for her love's son, instead of harassing him for all of his childhood. And before I get all of the messages and replies on this defending Snape's actions, know that, as a character, I like Snape. A lot, actually. He has depth and layers and development and all of the other things that make a character awesome in my eyes. He just kinda wasn't a good person, which goes a long way, considering how much fans love him. He let his jealousness get the better of him, and that was his downfall, and his reason for having a relatively horrible, bitter life.

Both of Snape and Pearl are great, but they don't live in the same context so there isn't a better one than the other. My parents met in a student choir. They used to sing me to sleep, and when I was little I often went with Dad to his choir practice. I would sit surrounded by all those rows of empty seats with my coloring book and crayons. I remember I sometimes got to pick his tie, so he would have Winnie the Pooh or Moomins in it. I had almost forgot about it all, though Mom and Dad still sing together sometimes when we're traveling long distances by car.

I just started watching this show about a week and a half ago and I just watched this episode yesterday. I must say that this is my favorite song and my favorite episode so far. I love the way musical numbers are utilized in this show. They advance the story and develop the characters and themes, like true musical theater. I love musicals, sci-fi, and cartoons, so I have no idea why I avoided this show for so long. It has quickly become my favorite show ever.
Though Caleb's singing turns Pearl's performance into something that looks like something out of movies like west side story and Grease (something I thought was pretty neat in itself) He also adds a bit more dramatic emphasis on the last long note that you can't help but love. I mean the vocal range was just flawless.

I honestly think that Pearl is a better Snape than Snape was. At least she actually tries to look out for her love's son, instead of harassing him for all of his childhood.
And before I get all of the messages and replies on this defending Snape's actions, know that, as a character, I like Snape. A lot, actually. He has depth and layers and development and all of the other things that make a character awesome in my eyes. He just kinda wasn't a good person, which goes a long way, considering how much fans love him. He let his jealousness get the better of him, and that was his downfall, and his reason for having a relatively horrible, bitter life.

My parents met in a student choir. They used to sing me to sleep, and when I was little I often went with Dad to his choir practice. I would sit surrounded by all those rows of empty seats with my coloring book and crayons. I remember I sometimes got to pick his tie, so he would have Winnie the Pooh or Moomins in it. I had almost forgot about it all, though Mom and Dad still sing together sometimes when we're traveling long distances by car.
