    Lot of people forget Michigan even without Webber was still formidable enough to flirt with the possibility of a 3rd straight Final Four.
    The difference in this game? Michigan had no capable bench guys. In previous years, Jake Voskuhl and Rob Pelinka were key contributors.

    After my Georgetown squad got put out in the 2nd round, these were my two fav teams left in the tourney. Hated to see one of em have to go out before the Final Four. But in the end, I'm glad the head coach that looks like me (Nolan Richardson) was able to eventually win the natty that year. 😊

      Yep. Lifetime 54-year-old Hog fan living in Louisiana here. But honestly they were EVEN better in 1995. Until Toby Bailey(yeah...remember him?) went unconscious and almost single-handedly won the National Championship against the Hogs for UCLA. Only that super-human effort prevented a two-peat for those Hogs) As a native Arkansan from Little Rock, I grew up idolizing Sidney Moncrief (and the other 'Triplets' Delph and Brewer to a lesser degree)and those great Eddie Sutton-led Razorback teams of the mid to late 70s. I bleed Razorback Red much to the chagrin of my mostly-LSU-leaning coworkers. I remember hearing about the half-court buzzer -beating heave by U.S. Reed to knock out the unbeatable Louisiville team while on vacation . I remember watching Darrell "Sky" Walker and Alvin Roberston play Texas Tech in-person several times in the 80s in my new town of Lubbock, Texas. I remember how close the Hogs were to the powerhouse Houston Phi Slamma Jamma squads.. what EPIC battles those were. I screamed like a fool when Charles Balentine put the final nail in top-ranked North Carolina and MJ in Pine Bluff. I'm a Hog fan cradle-to-grave .
      I'm so excited to see the development and re-establishment of a national power in men's basketball once again. I was beyond thrilled when I learned that Muss was taking over considering what he had accomplished with his Nevada squads. With the number 2 overall recruiting class(three 5 stars plus 4 high 4 stars) plus several returning starters from the last Elite 8 squads(Jalin PLEASE come back! 🤞) and the portal edition of Missouri's best big, the piglets of next season have the makings of a dominant squad and potentially something very special.
      Woo Pig Soooooiiiie y'all! The halcyon days of dominant and or on-the-rise Hog basketball and football(well..
      as much as can be expected in the meat grinder SEC West) has arrived once again.
      It's great to be a Razorback!

    That Arkansas team was so tough. Big Nasty Corliss Williamson was too strong for most college forwards. They could kill you inside or outside and they just kept coming at you relentlessly. I guess that's why they called it 40 minutes of hell. Michigan had no depth on that 94 team at all. After the Fab 4, the talent dropped off big time. I'm surprised they made it to the Elite 8. I think the next season Fisher brought in that recruiting class with Mo Taylor and Maceo Baston and then Tractor Traylor and Lou Bullock came next.

      Well after 1995, the Razorbacks lost 8 players. Six seniors (Beck, Stewart, McDaniel, Elmer Martin, Rimac, Dillard) then two juniors, Williamson and Thurman left early. They didn’t have the same kind of team in 96 which is why it was surprising they made it to the sweet 16 that year despite losing almost all their championship players.

      @@averydaymond1560 I'm not being bitter, just stating an opinion backed with facts. Calling the Fab Five (or Four) "underachieving" is suspect. True - they didn't win any titles. However, they made it into the Finals twice as Freshmen and Sophomores - but because they didn't win the NC they're underachievers? Win it all or be underachievers... Sounds salty to me.
      I understand that the Fab Five are notorious. I get that.
      Congrats to the Razorbacks on their NC. I take nothing away from their accomplishment.
      Their ESPN documentary was very cool. As NC's they deserve that.
      The Fab Five have actually had more documentaries than that - good, bad or indifferent - the nation knows who they are. Who else has that as two time runners up?

      @averydaymond1560 2 роки тому +1

      @@edwarddegalan107 Hhmm well ok fair enough but I’ll say the “underachiever” is Chris Webber. The other four did the most they could with the talent they had. Webber was a incredibly gifted athlete. I can’t recall any basketball player that size being able to jump that quick from a standing point. But Webber had a equally amazing opponent that stopped his inside close to the basket skills, HIMSELF. He kept wanting to play the wing and took himself away from the basket especially in his prime years. I was actually rooting for his Sacramento kings team against the lakers and was puzzled as to why he wasn’t spending more time inside on offense. Webber is a nice guy and all but was not a smart basketball player, hence the underachiever label.
