What a terrifying thing to endure. Imagine the PTSD and the survivor's guilt. That poor poor man.
If he hadn't come here illegally, he would have never been on the bridge, and this would have never happened.

Man, asking your nephew to come work with you and he doesn't make it...I would be messed up for life after surviving that one. I hope he finds purpose moving forward, because just getting a payout and thinking about that for the rest of his life won't help either.
🙏❤
In his hardest moments he didnt pray for himself..he prayed for his family and for his soul 😢💔 My heart hurts for all of the men and their families.
Never mind his vehicle had manual windows, it's incredible that he survived falling 18 stories high while in it.
All cars should have redundancy in windows...electronic trash and manual

His eyes tell the story. Man.
Immigrant or citizen all they were doing was fixing pot holes which we all hate in the country on the roads, then this horrible tragedy happens. I hope they win the lawsuit and the bridge being rebuilt with new safety features to prevent future tragedies from happening again.

Ugh, heartbreaking. You can see he's struggling. Condolences to the family and thank God for the miracles that spared him!
ugh my heart is sad that he will forever blame himself for his nephew even though he was NOT the one to blame.
I really really hope he is able to go to therapy or something because I cannot imagine the PTSD and the guilt he must hold. I didn’t realize that some of the other workers were also his family members and friends and that must be so painful for him.
They’re asking for billions for the bridge but aren’t asking anything for the families of the deceased?
thankful the surviving victim has very prominent lawyers that i’m positive will get him a big settlement. unfortunately shame on the city for not asking anything for the other families of the deceased who have no one to advocate for them. but knowing my culture the victim will give the other families something from his settlement which he wouldn’t have to if the city would just do the right thing.

This man is truly traumatized by what happened to him. It wasn't his time to die. To many things lined up that saved his life. I hope the families Sue the boat company for loss of life and damages. This should have never happened.
The PTSD must be unimaginable, poor guy.

All cars should have manual windows
I agree.
I think automatic should still work. It is a DC motor.
@@42luke93 I think she means so that way people are able to escape their car if the crash into water. A LOT of people drown because they can't get out of their car after they drive off a bridge or into a body of water.
This comment is stupid. He would had got out with automatic windows. Mythbusters proved this like a decade ago.
This comment says you've never had a car with four doors manual windows and no AC

very true, that’s why my dad came here. he was a very hardworking man, they want the best for their family the most 🙏🏼
I live in Maryland I would hope congress would make sure all the money goes to the bridge and to please make sure it does not line the pockets of the corrupt government.
Looks like it's being rebuilt but you would know that better than I would.
Wishful thinking
There are other bridges that handle more traffic that need replacement.
This was high profile but that doesn’t mean it’s high priority. I hope a rational evaluation process is done within the bureaucracy and rational decisions are made.
Lol yea right
I hope they don’t rush it. I’d rather have a stable, more structurally sound, future-proofed bridge than a quickly built one.
fkn brutal. Can't even imagine Julio's position and experience. Best wishes for him and his family, rip to the deceased and their families.
Why didn't the authorities notify these men when they knew the ship lost control and was heading for that bridge? That man should be suing asap.
Incompetence.
You obviously missed the part where they said the families plan on filing suit against all the companies involved with the shipping company.
Also the guys sitting next to him seem like his lawyers .
I believe it lost power very close to the bridge so before any warning could be sent it had already hit
That’s what I read too, it happened incredibly fast. If the cops had been on the bridge on the way to warn the crew, they would have been lost too. What a horribly tragic situation.
Bless this man and all those families hurting right now.
There is way too much shady BS surrounding this entire situation
Im a trucker and had missed the bridge by a few minutes. Cant imagine being in the middle of the collaps. Wow.
Very nice that his thoughts turned to God during what he thought were his last moments. That's a good man right there!
🙄
Hmmm, ask yourself….why would god make this happen?
@@Lizwindsor Hi Liz! I wanted to respond to this bc you asked a valid question and I'd like to offer an answer. Its undeniable that a lot of cruelty, evil, and suffering happens in the world every day but to blame God instead of mankind is to ask God to take away our free will. Hear me out, even if it wasnt the captain/crews fault, and it was a complete accident/unfortunate failure, God didn't design the bridge, or the ship, or the electrical systems on it. Behind all of those things, and behind the decisions to have a ship there on that night and the decisions of the workers to be there on that night, there were humans. And humans are imperfect, and thats okay. We also have free will, and that is something that God will always respect because thats the purpose He made us with. You might think, how cruel is that? God drops some imperfect beings onto a planet and lets their mistakes cause death and suffering? Again, its true that theres lots of suffering in this world, but this world is temporary along with our earthly lives. Compared to eternity, theres nothing that can happen in this earthly life that should turn us away from the promise of salvation in our Savior Jesus Christ, who has conquered death and along with it, all suffering. To answer your question more directly, I cant know exactly why God felt it was time to allow these souls to move on, but we can hope that God has shown them mercy and embraced them and brought them into his eternal kingdom, a place far better than the world theyve left behind. I hope this was informative and God bless you always!
@@camise9320 blah blah blah. I grew up Catholic, church, school, first communion, confirmation. No does judgement like the religious folks. Heartbreaking. I hope he finds peace and gets professional help covered for the trauma. Rightfully so, any company that has anything to do with the ship and the cargo will be sued for a ton.
I am so sorry julio!! Wish you the best in life
Wait, someone SURVIVED?!??
The strongest man he should have never had to deal with this such a horrible tragedy I hope one day he finds some sort of peace with his life and his trauma can be healed as much as it possibly can ❤❤
Imagine causing one of the most horrendous tragic events ever and asking courts that you are deemed to be not at fault and tax payers foot the bill for your mistake. Smh. Thankfully he survived and i pray he seeks intensive therapy to understand he's not at fault for someone's careless mistake. Prayers to the families and may justice be served rightfully to the victims
That sole survivor one thousand percent deserves millions in compensation. There are physical problems, multiple mental emotional problems, and honestly he's the sole survivor of a horrific event and that alone deserves plenty of recognition and compensation fincially as well. And the fact of losing loved ones of his own as well as others had lost their loved ones it's just, alot. But he definitely is owed financial compensation.
Everyone should carry on their keychain a window breaker. It enables you to cut your seatbelt & then press the device against the window to break it. ResQme has faulty ones in the market. Know the manufacture for safety reasons!
I've seen some that you can keep on your seat belt. It kinda hooks on it
@@07ikkin here’s my 2 cents. Rarely is your keychain going to dislodge from the ignition.
Finding the ignition even in the dark is second nature. Goal is to get the 🤬out of your car. No one says you can’t have more than one in your car & think backseat too. Remember even in a road accident you can escape.
You can also use your headrest.
@@simonstevenson6686 I'd prefer something that's gonna get the job done right away though. If you've just been submerged in water, you then have to stay calm, take the headrest off, and repeatedly bang in against the window to break it. I've seen demonstrations of the device I mentioned. It has a little button that you push and it instantly breaks the window
@@simonstevenson6686I can’t get my headrest off when I’m calm and not sinking in water. That’ll never working if I land in a body of water.
Hope he can talk to someone who can help him through the trauma and survivors guilt. He may suffer from ptsd as well and will need guidance
