    Spark plug gap is .043. After 50k miles, I had a couple plugs reading .055 gap. Immediately after the install, car's idle was strong, no hesitation or random dying anymore that went on for 2 months with NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Changed my air filter, did an idle relearn procedure hoping that would fix it; it did not. Changing out my spark plugs and ignition coils, fixed my issue. NEW SPARK PLUGS INSTALLED..... NGK Iridium IX PLFR5A-11.

    Cleaned injectors/Changed plugs/Coil packs…. Changed fuel rail lines…. Was on my way to changing injectors. While removing my alternator to do my valve cover and Clean my bottom block, ALTERNATOR!!! 🤦🏾‍♂️ HARNESS

    Things go wrong with these cars they're old, but the good thing is they happen one after another so you get to know your car and slowly upgrade it. They are old cars but they will last a very long time and look and run nice. Its worth the repairs. Everything can be done yourself just research and study the repair manual, don't pay the dealership they will triple the price and you can fix so many things for the price of one job at the dealership. Spark plug change is 368$ at nissan here i did my ball joints, belt, and plugs waaay under that price. Ball joints alone 1279$ and it only costs 72$ to diy.

    My car was running fine until I changed the upper plenum cover. The idling immediately got rough and would idle high at 2000 rpm, then drop to around 1000, then dip to 600. One place said it was a vacuum cap. Didn't fix much. Dealership said it was a P03000 code and their computer couldn't pinpoint the issue. Would swapping out spark plugs fix this? Lifetime warranty from Orileys, if they ever fail you keep getting a new set for free. Most people don't keep a car longer than 3 or 5 years. Going on 14 years with the G with almost all of my parts from Oriley's because of the lifetime warranty. If it has a lifetime warranty I buy from Oriley's. No warranty, I use OEM.
      Import direct is the brand of the ignition coils.

    • @MotordyneG35

      Yes, it's the same. I go over why they come pre-gapped at.044 and even though the service manual says .043 is the gap, no need to try to move .044 to .0443, that is close enough; so they are pre-gapped. Not every spark plug is pre-gapped for every car......ua-cam.com/video/j5WhqWPoLTk/v-deo.html

      I've been through this before, I stopped it before the Misfire Random P0300 code came. It will go months with random stalls and dying before you get the code. After inspecting the plugs, multiple plugs were out of gap spec which is .043. Out of the 6 plugs, 2 were way off at .055 gap. Cylinder 6 and 3 I believe were the 2 way off the most.
      I had not actually gotten a misfire code yet, just the car dying at idle randomly. I even did my own idle relearn video and changed out my air filter hoping that was it, nope. I knew it was time again to do this job. Car runs perfect again now and much better.

    The electrical grease should only be used on the tail of the plug because it conducts current. If it's all the way down the side of the non condition ceramic it can cause spark jump to the ground/threaded side of the plug and cause misfire codes as well.

      Replace Coil packs, Replace all 6 get the good ones it’ll cost roughly $200-$300 for all 6 but you won’t have to worry about replacing them for awhile. You should always replace Coils with Spark Plugs.

    It would have been smarter to make the coil connector cables varying lengths pending on the position of each cylinder. That way you’ll not mix up the cables.

    Edit: Have you replaced your oil pan gasket? Mine is leaking really bad when I go fast and it smells like burnt oil. Just wondering if it is Just the gasket on the pan doing that? It looks like it sprayed out.. I'm getting the new one today.

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  5 років тому

      Yeah don't buy off ebay, the half price spark plugs have to be fake. UA-cam videos proving it. I also went to the parts store to not risk it. The 6's? Are talking about 1 step colder spark plugs?
      PLFR5A-11 - Factory Heat Range (5) is best for vehicles without any modifications
      PLFR6A-11 - One Step Colder (6) is best to be used when any engine modifications have been done (Including air intake, exhaust, etc.)
      Yeah, I should have also gone with the 6's. I went with OEM PLFR5A-11 heat range, Iridium IX though. I completly forgot about 1 step colder, oh well they are already installed now and it runs much better. The random stalling went away. The gap was way over too on the used plugs. www.z1motorsports.com/ignition-system/nissan/oem-vq35de-spark-plug-ngk-plfr6a-11-p-3187.html

    • @463mafia
      @463mafia 5 років тому +1

      that is normal. If you are just cruising and hammer it the car drops a gear or two and then goes, which is the lag you feel.

    • @Kyronsk8

      I don't mean when your driving and floor it, I mean from a stand still. Like I press the gas and it tries to go full throttle, then it stops for a second then restarts the acceleration process

    • @MotordyneG35
      @MotordyneG35  5 років тому

      Cylinder 6 is most common to have oil in it first before a new valve cover is needed. When I pulled the spark plug out, you can see there is no oil and also down inside the tube there was no oil. The gopro on the gimbal couldn't fit over there to get a really good view. I was also worried about cylinder 6 because I did not feel like doing another valve cover job.

    Hey anybody I have a 2007 Nissan Murano with 193,000 miles and I was just doing preventive maintenance by changing the valve covers because when I changed the spark plugs at 170,000 miles one spark plug was covered in oil the ceramic and where it sparks at and changed the 3 rear ignition coils but anyways this week I replaced the valve covers front and rear and that took me 4 days since it’s very cold in Chicago and it was snowing and so when I was working on the front one I had the front ignition coils in a drawer and they were kind of getting snowed on so I just wiped them off and closed the dresser to dry them and install them tomorrow so when I put the car back together I had a code that read P0081 then I looked around the engine and I just reconnected a harness and I reset the code then it was running fine for 30 seconds then it got to running rough again and got a code P0300 and wonder if it’s the front ignition coils but I replaced all the spark plugs at 170,000 miles and only the rear 3 ignition coils
