Best of luck and the Lord's blessing to go with you on your latest adventure. From one Westsailor to another, you definitely have the right boat under you. You are obviously busy right now, so when you get a chance, your thoughts and process on the stainless reinforcement of Sparrow's boomkin. rather than just going with Bud's stainless replacement. It looks like a good move considering the fact that over the 50 years of existence the boomkin and bowsprit have been the eventual weak point in the rig, along with whisker stays and chainplates. After watching your videos, it is obvious that Sparrow's rig is Mighty! God Speed, Jerome and Mighty Sparrow!
As a fellow Westsail owner here in Canada, I’ll be wondering for months how your making out. To see my boat transiting the Cape will be amazing to see . Good luck, Sail safe, and Gods Speed
Bon voyage. Bought your book, just about to start reading it and looking forward to any updates you’re able to do on your latest voyage. Fair winds, Elaine ⛵️
We are on Christopher Robin hull 671 we’ve heard stories of her sail from New Zeland around Cape Horn and dream of being able to circumnavigate her someday. Buen Viaje fellow West Sailor 🤙🏽
Hey Jerome my name is Thomas iam from Alaska born and raised I grew up commercial fishing for salmon on 32 foot boats. I was curious if you have ever considered taking on a deck hand for any of your trips. Because I would really like to jump aboard to learn and partake in any of your expeditions. I can pay for half of everything from food to boat repairs.
Interesting how near the end of the video you talked about the spray cloths being stanchion damagers. Although i bet it was the solar that did the stanchion damage in te knock down.
Definitely could have been, fortunately I was down below and only found the wreckage once on deck. Will be making the spray skirts more break away just in case.
Jerome, I really enjoy your podcast, I relate to your ‘....just a guy on a sailboat’ style of narrative. Love it.
I'm looking at a Westsail 32 in Hawaii on Thursday because you've inspired me to check it out. Good luck!

I am refitting a Westsail 32 now and believe, very much so, in keeping one tough boat simple. I'm watching you make progress across!
Best of luck! Enjoy the adventure and bring back some good stories to share.
Be safe Jerome! Have a great sail!
Very exciting, have a great voyage!
